However, the visual variables in plane map symbols are not fully applicable to three-dimensional models. This paper combines the features of virtual reality technology and integrates the aGlass VR eye tracking module with HTC Vive virtual reality devices, selects the basic visual variables (colour, size and spatial pose) in the three-dimensional scene for research. We organized and extracted the research process, and in this way, constructed set of incompletely mature research frameworks for visual variables.","PeriodicalId":159517,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization (ICVRV)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115171023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we built an immersive simulation driving system by Unity 3D and VR technology and in this system Logitec G29 is served as an interactive device. In this system, the user can control the virtual vehicles in the traffic scenario through the behaviors of driver, including rotating steering wheel, braking, turning on the direction indicators and accelerating. The user-defined evaluation model can be introduced into the system easily to calculate the evaluation results through the user's operation data collected in real time, including braking time, steering wheel angle, etc. This feature makes our system can be used for drivingrelated training and assessment scenarios widely. We proposed a safety awareness assessment models and conducted related experiments to verify this feature. In addition, the system's scene can be changed according to different purposes, which make the system be more flexible to adapt to different types of virtual driving research.","PeriodicalId":159517,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization (ICVRV)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125444527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, the template frame image is collected. Then the SURF feature points extraction and rough matching of template images are carried out, and then the feature points of mismatching are eliminated by the efficient feature point filtering method. Then, the exact matching feature points are projected on the cylinder, and the transformation matrix between two images is calculated in advance for subsequent video frame image fusion. Finally, image fusion is carried out after the cylinder projection of the subsequent video image. In addition, in order to improve the algorithm speed to meet the real-time requirements, CUDA platform is adopted for GPU parallel processing when implement the image cylinder projection and fusion. Experiments show that, real-time video stitching with 30 frames per second is realized.","PeriodicalId":159517,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization (ICVRV)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121494210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the planar points are extracted after computing the dimensionality structure of each point. The planar points are then grouped into clusters based on the normal direction and distance between points. Next, the building walls are extracted from the scene point clouds according to a collection of characteristics such as surface area, normal direction, and topological relationship. Finally, the building facade is sliced both horizontally and vertically. A slice-based algorithm based on the point number is proposed to locate the windows. The experimental results demonstrate that our method can detect the window location quickly and effectively.","PeriodicalId":159517,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization (ICVRV)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126119314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Anwar, Jing Wang, Asad Ullah, Wahab Khan, Zhuoran Li, Sadique Ahmad","doi":"10.1109/ICVRV.2018.00030","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICVRV.2018.00030","url":null,"abstract":"With the development and popularity of virtual reality (VR) and 360 panoramic videos with head mounted display (HMD), user satisfaction is very significant as compared to other important end to end quality of service. To improve Quality of Experience (QoE) of 360 panoramic video, user profile needs to be analyzed. The user profile analysis can provide vital information to service providers which can help them to deal with their resources capably, by evaluating users behaviour and expectation. In this paper, we conduct a subjective test and propose a method to investigate QoE in VR by analyzing user profile. To do this, we first store the user profile data (e.g. age, gender, familiarity with 360 panoramic VR video, interest in the content) then we investigate the impact of different factors that influence QoE (encoding parameters, content type and device type) on user. The results of our analytical study provide another opportunity for content providers to offer best level service that meets customers expectations and desired experience to obtain high user satisfaction. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt that analyzes the user profile for 360 panoramic videos in VR environment.","PeriodicalId":159517,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization (ICVRV)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131733911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
