However, in heterogeneous IT infrastructures where, e.g., different applications for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), product management, manufacturing, and marketing are used, duplicates, e.g., multiple entries for the same customer or product in a database or information system, occur. There can be several reasons for this, but the result of non-unique or duplicate records is a degraded data quality. This ultimately leads to poorer, inefficient, and inaccurate data-driven decisions. For this reason, in this paper, we develop a conceptual data governance framework for effective and efficient management of duplicate data, and improvement of data accuracy and consistency in large data ecosystems. We present methods and recommendations for companies to deal with duplicate data in a meaningful way.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132634172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, during sensitive times like late at night, prioritizing safety becomes paramount. To address this issue, this research proposes a new feature for navigation systems that calculates the safest route between two locations. The algorithm utilizes police crime data and real-time traffic information to predict and analyze the safety of all possible routes, while also taking into account the density of public places to score the infrastructure and public safety of the route. The results of this research demonstrate that employing this new methodology can significantly enhance the safety of navigation systems. Specifically, using a combination of crime density and public places density as a measure of infrastructure proved to be a better way of calculating the safety score and recommending safer routes. This approach can also serve as a framework that can be employed in other applications beyond navigation systems to enhance safety in urban environments.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131267039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose an approach to design, develop, and evaluate the data models for projects with large bodies of resources. The proposed approach utilizes topic modeling for data requirement discovery to analyze the semantic structures of thousands of documents and published articles and derive a reference conceptual data model for data strategy use-cases (DS-UCs) for cancer survival and deaths. Using this approach, we are able to process and analyze a great number of resources and map their automatically discovered topics into data model entities. Using the knowledge of a field expert, the derived model was evaluated and adjusted to arrive at a final model that captures the data requirements of the studied DS-UCs. The developed approach proved to be an effective benchmark for data modeling of a complex domain like cancer care, for which the validation of a domain expert is shown to be a critical element.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125329465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the existence of manual and technical countermeasures, phishing emails still pose a risk of deceiving employees. Machine learning has played a vital role in improving the detection of many types of cyberattacks, including email phishing. In this paper, the utilization of a machine learning-based IDS model to detect phishing emails before they reach inboxes is proposed. A review of phishing email detection techniques and algorithms is presented, and a publicly available dataset of ham and phishing emails is discussed and used. Multiple machine learning classifiers were deployed (RF, SVM, Adaboost, Logistic Regression, and KNN), and their evaluation scores were generated and analysed. Using recursive feature elimination and multi-feature analysis, Random Forest outperformed the other classifiers with an accuracy of 98.6%, closely followed by Adaboost with 98.1%.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115915789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

NAT allows multiple devices on a local network to share a single public IP address. This enables efficient utilization of the limited number of public IP addresses and allows devices on a local network to connect to the internet. However, NAT can lead to communication problems, security vulnerabilities, difficulties in network management, and challenges in identifying network issues. This paper proposes a novel approach for NAT detection using machine learning that overcomes the limitations of traditional NAT detection methods by building a generalizable model. The proposed method incorporates techniques to achieve generalization in the presence of obfuscation, a technique used by attackers to evade detection. The experimental results show the superiority of the proposed method over existing NAT detection techniques in terms of accuracy and generalization, even in the presence of obfuscation. A decline in the classification F1 score below 70% is observed when traffic data has multiple features obfuscated and when environment changes. To tackle this issue, transfer learning was applied to enhance the model’s efficiency and effectiveness. Transfer learning resulted in more promising results in new network environments and in case of obfuscation.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122952404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CapSA draws inspiration from the collective intelligence of Capuchin monkeys and has shown success in solving real-world problems. However, it may encounter challenges handling complex optimization tasks, such as premature convergence or being trapped in local optima. ECapSA employs a local escaping mechanism operating the abandonment limit concept to exploit potential solutions and introduce diversification trends. Additionally, the ECapSA algorithm is improved by integrating the principles of the cooperative island model, resulting in the iECapSA. This modification enables better management of population diversity and a more optimal balance between exploration and exploitation. The efficiency of iECapSA is validated through a series of experiments, including the IEEE-CEC2014 benchmark functions and training the feedforward neural network (FNN) on seven biomedical datasets. The performance of iECapSA is compared to other metaheuristic techniques, namely differential evolution (DE), sine cosine algorithm (SCA), and whale optimization algorithm (WOA). The results of the comparative study demonstrate that iECapSA is a strong contender and surpasses other training algorithms in most datasets, particularly in terms of its ability to avoid local optima and its improved convergence speed.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124845133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ad hoc infrastructure and node mobility add to the network’s complexity and instability. Finding the desired path from source to destination using routing techniques becomes even hazier due to limited radio range communication and dynamic topology. Numerous studies offer a wide range of techniques for transferring data from one place to another. In this paper, we have taken the energy of the nodes and the distance between the nodes as key components in deciding whether the route established with these components is appropriate or not. We are using the ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector (AOMDV) protocol which is considered one of the most effective reactive routing techniques to deal with the unpredictability of the routing path in MANETs. Along with that, we propose a genetic algorithm-based new protocol that will provide the most energy-efficient path by considering the least distance between nodes with the help of mutation and crossover. Lastly, the proposed protocol results are compared with existing routing protocols like AOMDV and DSR. We have used routing overhead, end-to-end delay, throughput, energy consumption, and packet delivery ratio as key metrics for the performance evaluation of our proposed model.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116350091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If the sample size is too large, it may amplify the detection of differences, while if it is too small, it increases the margin of error. In this work we investigate the sample size requirement in terms of keyword spotting, but it is important in all aspects of statistical research. Another important aspect in the field of automatic speech recognition and keyword spotting is feature extraction. Feature extraction not only reduces the number of features required to classify a keyword, but also generates the characteristic parameters that represent the useful information contained in a speech signal. Various techniques have been presented in literature for feature extraction of speech signals. In this work we investigate (1) the sample size requirement, and (2) the effectiveness of two Mel-scaled features: log-Mel spectral coefficients and Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients, for small-footprint keyword spotting in a limited dataset environment. Concurrent neural networks, Multi-layer perceptrons, and ResNet50 models are used. It was observed that 275 samples are sufficient for the current scenario. Moreover, it was also seen that changes in log-Mel spectral coefficients significantly changes the average accuracy of the machine learning models, while changes in the number of Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients have little effect on average accuracy.","PeriodicalId":158016,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Communication, Networking and Services (ICCNS)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122672664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
