This study is based on case studies carried out on three 500 KV transmission lines and two 220 KV transmission lines to investigate the effects of Room-Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) Silicon Coating on disc insulators in mitigating tripping and power outages resulting from pollution flashover. The flashover inhering from atmosphere in high voltage disc insulators on high power transmission lines is a major bottleneck in smooth power evacuation of electrical power. The improving behavior of transmission lines resulting in reduced tripping and reduced maintenance cost in terms of lesser power outages in the aftermath of replacement of faulty and poor condition disc insulators is also studied and results are concluded. Mitigation of frequent tripping and power outages occurring from flashovers due to environmental constraints is possible by either employing Room-Temperature Vulcanized Silicon and Polymer Coating of disc insulators or replacing poor quality disc insulators with good quality disc insulators.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"20 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123570839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Normal human being have the ability to see, listen, talk and express themselves but there are few people who are unable to communicate and are not able to express themselves. Moreover it is also difficult for them to understand what normal people are saying to them and for normal people too to commute with them. Therefore to bridge the gap between these two we have created a full duplex smart communication system that less the communication and its gap between the normal people and the people who are unable to communicate. Our system focuses on Deaf & Dumb (D&D) people. Using our approach we have achieved an accuracy and precision of 95% and 85.5%. This paper has two major contributions. At start, uses the Leap Motion Device for hand gesture recognition. This will track data that will be used for training Pakistani Sign Language (PSL). In the second part, when normal people is trying to communicate with them, they can do it without learning a sign language. We have implemented this by using our Android Application that converts speech to text language that can be understood by the deprived one easily.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125303460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some satellite communication research indicated that the elevation angle of the transmission path of the signal determines the efficiency of the links between the transmitter and the receiver. Hence, there is requirement of mathematical model, which provide relation between received signal strength (C/N0) and elevation angle to predict the direct C/N0. In this paper has been made to develop a mathematical model for predict of direct C/N0 NavIC Geo synchronous satellites. The antenna used in experiment for data collection has been placed on roof top of the Graphic Era University building in Dehradun, India. The NavIC regression model was validated with the experimental data. Average R2 and RMSE value for developed regression model were 0.89 and 1.08 respectively which show good prediction of NavIC C/N0 value with developed model.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"156 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122433996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our research aims to serve the purpose of avoiding road accidents caused due to driver's hypo-vigilance, drunk driving or sudden health issues. The proposed system is an SoC (System on Chip) that can be easily installed in the car, it is able to accurately monitor the driver's state while driving and upon observing incapability of driving, the system switches to auto drive mode followed by a safe parking in the left lane. The developed system comprises of four parts. The drowsiness detection sub-system monitors the driver's drowsiness by employing the image processing techniques to detect his face and eyes and determine his drowsy state on the basis of Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR). Alcohol is detected by analyzing the Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels of driver's continuously, vital signs i.e., heart rate and electrocardiogram (ECG) is measured within the car and if it is observed as being abnormal, the information is coordinated with the driver and with the aid of GSM/GPRS module, information is also forwarded to some concerned family member and emergency helpline. Upon detection of any abnormality by any of the sub-systems, the car switches to auto drive mode. This purpose is served by the auto driving sub- system. Each sub-system developed for the realization of this project is user friendly and easily adaptable within the car. The sub-systems are developed keeping cost, size, reliability and real time response constraints in consideration. Upon testing the system in real world driving scenarios, considerable accuracies are achieved by each sub-system. However, every proposed solution is subjected to some new challenges. The future research may contribute to monitor and avoid more causes of accidents for ensuring human safety and realize a system capable of wide range, safe and reliable autonomous driving.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128539537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conventional substations are equipped with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) frameworks. These PLCs operate the smart grid substations' data as a communication channel by covering a regulated carrier frequency of the overhead transmission lines. Existing PLCs with SCADA and Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) with the IEEE C37.118 based WAM framework faces synchronization difficulties in estimating real-time phasors and controlling of Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS) in the smart grid network. Along these lines, this article aims to build up a precise synchronization framework for two-way correspondence in the smart grid network. The key objective is to relieve the stage counterbalanced and mitigate delay errors to monitor the grids through PMUs based WAMS continuously. The simulation result suggests that the proposed framework archives better precision than the existing IEEE C37.118.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131542822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cloud computing provides services for data storage and processing by using IT infrastructure on remote locations. With the increase in data, the load on cloud computing and communication infrastructure is on the rise as well, leading to increase in response time and latency. Fog computing addresses this issue to an extent by brining processing closer to the edge. As fog infrastructures are significantly different from cloud in terms of scale, processing capacity, bandwidth etc., they require focused analysis to improve their performance. In this paper, we analyze impact of resource distribution in small-scale fog infrastructure on its performance and resource utilization. We examine different topological arrangements of fog devices with varying resources. Our results show that the topological arrangement of fog resources affects the overall performance of fog infrastructure.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122120250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The abundance of the Norway Lobster Nephrops norvegicus stock in the Gulf of Cadiz is assessed based on the identification and counting of the burrows where they live, using underwater videos. The Instituto Español de Oceanografía (IEO) conducts an annual standard underwater television survey (UWTV) to generate burrow density estimates of Nephrops within a defined area, with a coefficient of variation (CV) or relative standard error of less than 20%. Currently, the identification and counting of the Nephrops burrows are carried out manually by the experts. This is quite hectic and time consuming job. Computer Vision and Deep learning plays a vital role now a days in detection and classification of objects. The proposed system introduces a deep learning based automated way to identify and classify the Nephrops burrows. The proposed work is using current state of the art Faster RCNN models Inception v2 and MobileNet v2 for objects detection and classification. Tensorflow is used to evaluate the Inception and MobileNet performance with different numbers of training images. The average mean precision of Inception is more than 75% as compared to MobileNet which is 64%. The results show the comparison of Inception and MobileNet detections, as well as the calculation of True Positive and False Positive detections along with undetected burrows.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125820589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Air pollutants when released into the environment effects human health directly or in an indirect manner. Along with this it causes multiple environmental changes, such as ozone depletion, global climate change, eutrophication and forest damages. These pollutants also effect on wildlife and crops. Since the science behind air pollution has remained steady, we have made an attempt to develop a model for human livability based on the quantities of four major air pollutants in the air, namely; Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and ground level ozone (O3). The results of this study would help researchers to assess human livability conditions in different areas, using data collected for the aforementioned pollutants in that area. Results are also helpful in drafting policies for improving the quality of living in different places, in a more organized fashion.","PeriodicalId":157662,"journal":{"name":"2020 Global Conference on Wireless and Optical Technologies (GCWOT)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116005516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
