Most cancer cases are detected at later stages when chances of healing are scarce. Although considerable financial resources for cancer research are allocated worldwide, efforts to implement the data obtained from such work are still lagging behind. A review of research done in the country on cancer is important as results reported worldwide. The aim is to review the cancer research studies performed in Albania focusing on risk factors, early detection and on screening behaviours. The systematic electronic search for articles published without a time limit included online libraries of Ovid PubMed, Google Scholar, Medline with Full Text and Medscape articles discussing the study objectives. A total of 10 studies were identified which met the inclusion criteria. The categorization was done for the type of cancer included the number of publications, the first author and year of article publishing, method and main results. Most of the studies provided more data on the incidence of different types of cancer, but little information on its association with major risky factors. Also, there are few studies on early detection (ED) focusing on screening behaviors. More cancer research is needed in a larger population in order to strengthen findings and to design effective prevention strategies.","PeriodicalId":156854,"journal":{"name":"Eastern-European Journal of Medical Humanities and Bioethics","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127189138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clero","doi":"10.18662/eejmhb/06","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18662/eejmhb/06","url":null,"abstract":"In France, blood transfusion gives rise to debates only when a scandal bursts out, as we have known in the 1980’s and 1990’s with the « affaire du sang contamine ».Otherwise, once a number of administrative and prophylactic precautions have been taken, transfusion is not further discussed in ethical terms, as if questions related to transfusion were solved better than in any other domain of care ethics. The speeches take on a seemingly axiomatic character: it is well understood that the donation of blood must be anonymous; that it must be gratuitous; that selling one’s blood is contrary -or would be contrary- to ethics; and so is and would be knowing the person to whom it is given while the recipient knows his donor. What is surprising is that these axioms seem self-evident; and what is even more surprising is that those who are supposed exceeding the level of common opinion hold fewer seminars on issues related to blood transfusion than on other issues of medical ethics, yet strongly related to them such as, for example, ethical questions of organ transplants. Is not the blood similar to a tissue and assimilable to an organ?","PeriodicalId":156854,"journal":{"name":"Eastern-European Journal of Medical Humanities and Bioethics","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115613016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Informed Consent (IC) \"is the informed consent of the patient in connection with medical interventions that may have unpredictable consequences.\" (Cimpoeru, 2016). Therefore, obtaining this consent is made after informing the patient about the medical act to be performed, receiving all the information he needs to give his consent to the cause. The research is based on a questionnaire applied to a sample of 50 people from Dorohoi Municipal Hospital. This questionnaire contains questions about the application of IC, from the point of view of doctors, assistants and TESA. Within this research, we have tried to highlight the importance that these CIs attach to and how it is applied in practice.","PeriodicalId":156854,"journal":{"name":"Eastern-European Journal of Medical Humanities and Bioethics","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121218154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Euthanasia and assisted suicide are allowed in certain cases, but there is no consensus with respect to the extent of the situations in which physicians should not be prosecuted. I argue that the individual, and, more specifically, his suffering, should be the focal point, and that the present legislation falls short in this respect; no solution can as yet be offered to individuals whose suffering cannot be resolved through medical means and which cannot be subsumed under the terms the law specifies.","PeriodicalId":156854,"journal":{"name":"Eastern-European Journal of Medical Humanities and Bioethics","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126952236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
