Present study aims to examine the same by estimating the magnitude of underpricing in disinvestment oriented IPOs and FPOs. Along with this, it also aims to compare the degree of underpricing across IPOs and subsequent stages of FPOs. Total number of IPO and FPO cases to be analyzed are 46 (8 IPO, 25 FPO-I, 10 FPO-II, 3 FPO-III) which have been introduced during 2003-2017 by Govt-owned enterprises in India. Market adjusted excess return methodology has been used to compute underpricing. Results depict that underpricing do exists in privatized public offerings. The study also witness the reduced underpricing levels from IPO to third stage of FPO which indicate towards high cost of raising equity at IPO and gets reduced at subsequent stages of FPOs. Based on the findings, the research recommends that divestment activity should spread over different stages of offerings i.e. IPOs and FPOs. This research contributes to the literature by estimating and comparing the magnitude of underpricing in “privatized” public offerings and provides the Governmental institutions and investors with the base and information to make appropriate decisions.","PeriodicalId":156391,"journal":{"name":"Think India","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126623740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Paper examines if Altman's Z-score model captures the decline in the financial health of the banks caused by the NPAs. The sample size is taken in selected two public (CBI & PNB) & two private sector banks (ICICI & HDFC). The study is based on secondary data & data will be collected for the last five years 2014 to 2018. The findings of this paper suggest that, due to the uniqueness of the Indian banking sector during the NPA crisis, the 'Emerging Market Model' does not produce any significantly better results. Therefore, there is a future scope to develop a tailor-made model suitable to the Indian Banking sector.","PeriodicalId":156391,"journal":{"name":"Think India","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126112868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The profit, as well as non-profit organization, uses the internet for various business purposes. One of the major is communicated various financial as well as non-financial information on their respective websites. This study is conducted on the top 30 BSE listed public sector companies, to measure the extent of governance disclosure (non-financial information) on their web pages. The disclosure index approach to examine the extent of governance disclosure on the internet was used. The governance index was constructed and broadly categorized into three dimensions, i.e., organization and structure, strategy & Planning and accountability, compliance, philosophy & risk management. The empirical evidence of the study reveals that all the Indian public sector companies have a website, and on average, 67% of companies disclosed some kind of governance information directly on their websites. Further, we found extreme variations in the web disclosure between the three categories, i.e., The Maharatans, The Navratans, and Miniratans. However, the result of Kruskal-Wallis indicates that there is no such significant difference between the three categories. The study provides valuable insights into the Indian economy. It explored that Indian public sector companies use the internet for governance disclosure to some extent, but lacks symmetry in the disclosure. It is because there is no such regulation for web disclosure. Thus, the recommendation of the study highlighted that there must be such a regulated framework for the web disclosure so that stakeholders ensure the transparency and reliability of the information.","PeriodicalId":156391,"journal":{"name":"Think India","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116855210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve the purpose twenty (n = 20) young male students were selected as subjects and their age ranged between 18 and 25 years. They were divided into two equal groups, each group consisted of ten (n = 10) subjects. The group I underwent plyometric training (PTG), and group II acted as a control (CG) who did not exposed any special training apart from their regular activities. The training period for this study was limited to five days in a week for eight weeks. Abdominal strength endurance was selected as a criterion variable of this study and it was measured by using bent knee sit-ups. The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was applied as a statistical tool. In all cases 0.05 level of confidence was fixed to test the significance, which was considered as an appropriate. It was concluded from the result of the study that there was a significant improvement (p ≤ 0.05) due to plyometric training on abdominal strength endurance as compared to control group.","PeriodicalId":156391,"journal":{"name":"Think India","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121340977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
