Previously, the methods used to measure the phase response were slow and limited to narrow bandwidths. This new measurement method is extremely fast, proposes a method for normalization or calibration of the phase response, and is extremely broadband, making it suitable for measurements of wide band amplifiers such as those used in satellite communication systems.","PeriodicalId":156210,"journal":{"name":"2003 33rd European Microwave Conference, 2003","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2003-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127281328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This reflectarray is composed of a set of cross dipole cell elements for each band that are etched in an interlaced lattice configuration. Two reflectarrays based on single and double layer configurations are introduced. Adjusting the length of orthogonal dipoles of the same cell element to maintain 90° relative phase shift between their re-radiated fields, will result in a reflectarray that converts an E-field that is linearly polarized along the bisector of the orthogonal dipoles into a circularly polarized field. Measurement results demonstrated 36% radiation efficiency and axial ratio better than 2.0 dB for 3% bandwidth for both bands and for both configurations.","PeriodicalId":156210,"journal":{"name":"2003 33rd European Microwave Conference, 2003","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2003-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127025899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performed field analysis has revealed that coupling arms act as additional half-wavelength resonators coupled with the ring through both electric and magnetic fields. New filter designs with horseshoe resonators instead of coupling arms have been developed, which provide either pure magnetic or electric coupling at the resonant frequency. The obtained results demonstrate the possibility to essentially improve filter characteristics. Simulations results have been verified by the measurements of fabricated prototypes.","PeriodicalId":156210,"journal":{"name":"2003 33rd European Microwave Conference, 2003","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2003-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130621382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
