Albumin is water soluble and can be coagulated with heat. Albumin solution in water can be precipitated by adding ammonium sulfate until saturated. Albumin functions to regulate the osmotic pressure in the blood, maintain the presence of water in the blood plasma so that it can maintain the volume of blood in the body and as a means of transportation and transportation. Catfish contains 15.6 grams of high-quality protein in each fish so that it can meet the needs of the amino acids needed by the body. The high-quality protein in catfish helps the body build lean brain mass and the protein content in catfish also helps increase the effectiveness of immune function. The purpose of this study was to determine albumin levels in catfish by extracting catfish meat using the oven method and determining the maximum albumin wavelength. In the identification test with the heating method and UV-Vis spectrophotometry test. This research method uses the experimental method. The extraction results were then heated in an oven to observe coagulation and determine the wavelength using UV-Vis spectrophotometry using Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a reference solution and Bromocressol green as a reagent. The conclusion of this study is that catfish meat extract was coagulated using the oven method and maximum absorption was obtained at a wavelength of 625 nm using UV-Vis spectrophotometry.","PeriodicalId":154365,"journal":{"name":"Ad-Dawaa : Journal of Pharmacy","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128506320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Free radicals are very dangerous for the body, one of which causes degenerative diseases. One of the plants that is thought to be able to inhibit free radicals is the melinjo plant. The processing of melinjo plants in the community is only used as a vegetable, so there is a need for research on the benefits of antioxidants in melinjo plants. The purpose of this study was to explore the parts of melinjo which had the best antioxidant activity found in the soft shell, hard shell and seeds of melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.) with different solvent concentrations. The research method used was to prepare test samples by maceration process using 50% and 70% ethanol, then the extracts were tested for antioxidants using the DPPH method. Data analysis was performed using the ANOVA statistical test with a 98% confidence level. The results showed that the optimal percentage of free radical inhibition was obtained in 50% ethanol solvent, the outer shell of melinjo was 53.29%, and the IC50 was 318.18 ppm. Based on the One way Anova test (p>0.02) there was no difference between the use of 50% and 70% ethanol solvent on the antioxidant activity of the outer shell, hard skin and melinjo seed samples.","PeriodicalId":154365,"journal":{"name":"Ad-Dawaa : Journal of Pharmacy","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127736799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Giving this catfish extract functions as a nutrient, it is hoped that this nutrition can improve nutrition, increase the immune system and speed up the wound healing process or post surgery. This research is an experimental research, in which the albumin ointment formulation of catfish (clarias sp) extract was carried out, with variations of vaselin flavum and adeps lanae ointment bases in three formulations namely formulation 1, formulation 2 and formulation 3. The results of catfish extract (clarias sp) were then formulated in the form of an ointment. Then an evaluation of physical properties was carried out including organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity test, spreadability test, adhesion test, pH test. The results showed that the albumin extract ointment for catfish (Clarias sp) with variations in ointment base made a difference to the evaluation of albumin extract for catfish (Clarias sp) which included organoleptic tests (soft shape, white to yellow), homogeneity test (has round particles, irregular, no foreign particles), spreadability test (FI, 5.16cm: FII, 5.23cm: FIII, 5.06cm), adhesion test (FI, 3.19 seconds, FII 2.27 seconds, FIII 3.24 seconds), pH test (FI 6, FII 6, FIII 6). The conclusion that the vaseline flavum ointment combined with adeps lanae from catfish albumin extract meets the quality consists of an evaluation. homogeneity test, organoleptic test, adhesion test, spreadability test and pH test.","PeriodicalId":154365,"journal":{"name":"Ad-Dawaa : Journal of Pharmacy","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121533184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
