Content distribution is widely considered as a useful method of efficiently and successfully processing content traffic. To this effect, effective cache technologies are urgently required for both Internet service providers (ISPs) and Internet users. However, transmission efficiency of major methods for content routing is too low to meet Internet’s needs. This paper proposes an ant multi-path routing algorithm in which network state information is with an excepted heuristic factor function to promote the selected probability of the best possible multiple paths to improve routing efficiency. The state information of links works in the proposed algorithm to update the pheromone, allowing multi-paths to be selected with optimized proportions to distribute content appropriately. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method reduces access latency by 10%, thus improving the user’s quality of service (QoS) by a considerable margin. Experimental results further demonstrated the superior network transmission capacity of the proposed optimization framework over other existing systems.","PeriodicalId":153592,"journal":{"name":"The Open Automation and Control Systems Journal","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133790928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A velocity observer is first developed to estimate the task-space velocity, and reference sufficient conditions for observer parameters are also given to guarantee the convergence of observation error. Based on the proposed observer, an adaptive controller is first developed when the task-space velocity is measurable, then a modified controller is proposed considering the case when the task-space velocity is unavailable. Using graph theory and Lyapunov analysis, the proof of the system stability is given. Simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.","PeriodicalId":153592,"journal":{"name":"The Open Automation and Control Systems Journal","volume":"10 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120936929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sensor nodes generate continuous stream of data, which must be processed and delivered to end users in a timely manner. This is a very challenging task due to constraints in sensor node’s hardware resources. Mobile Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) has been put forward as a solution to increase network lifetime and to improve system's Quality of Service (QoS). UGV are mobile devices that can move closer to data sources to reduce the bridging distance to the sink. They gather and process sensory data before they transmit it over a long-range communication technology. In large-scale monitored physical environments, the deployment of multiple-UGV is essential to deliver consistent QoS across different parts of the network. However, data sink mobility causes intermittent connectivity and high re-connection overhead, which may introduce considerable data delivery delay. Consequently, frequent network reconfigurations in multiple data sink networks must be managed in an effective way. In this paper, we contribute an algorithm to allow nodes to choose between multiple available UGVs, with the primary objective of reducing the network reconfiguration and signalling overhead. This is realised by assigning each node to the mobile sink that offers the longest connectivity time. The proposed algorithm takes into account the UGV’s mobility parameters, including its movement direction and velocity, to achieve longer connectivity period. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce end-to-end delay and improve packet delivery ratio, while maintaining low sink discovery and handover overhead. When compared to its best rivals in the literature, the proposed approach improves the packet delivery ratio by up to 22%, end-to-end delay by up to 28%, energy consumption by up to 58%, and doubles the network lifetime.","PeriodicalId":153592,"journal":{"name":"The Open Automation and Control Systems Journal","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116036499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The centralized controller can control all network devices. In addition, the priority if the packet transmitting route of the network or the supervision of the network safety can be conducted from the comprehensive angle. The ECOE proposed in the paper is a kind of the network model of the SDN. It can support many important functions in the SDN by deploying the Ethernet switch in the core network and the OpenFlow switch at the network edge. This paper will introduce how ECOE network model can control the flow-based routing for different kinds of packets. In addition, it can flexibly limit the broadcast/multicast domain and dynamically set the flow load balance to the whole network. This paper derives a multi-type queuing network model to help managers increase service efficiency and improve patient satisfaction based on Chinese current outpatient condition. One of this model’s characteristics is capturing different patient types who pass through the system in different service routes. The other unique thing is taking the outpatient service process as a whole queuing network with multi-type patients, not a simple tandem queuing network. Only by the external arrival rate, the arrival rate of each service node can be calculated in order to obtain the system operation indicators including server utilization, waiting time and patient number in queue and system as the service targets, in this way, the hospital manager can clarify the current outpatient operation and promote the situation by modifying the server number. Results from one actual case are used to demonstrate the methodology. This multi-type queuing network analysis method can assist to organize the server resource more effectively in the status of limited resource and excessive demand, and can be an important innovation in hospital management.","PeriodicalId":153592,"journal":{"name":"The Open Automation and Control Systems Journal","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134159608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the problem statement is presented, in which a tracking problem is converted into a regulation problem by constructing a deviation system, the tracking error deviation is treated as the system performance and the conditions for smooth switching tracking control are discussed based on the theory of robust control technique. Secondly, the state feedback gain of the deviation system with input saturation and input quantization is designed by solving Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) based convex optimization problem with the conditions for smooth switching tracking control being considered. Finally, validation simulations are carried out for the longitudinal dynamics model of hypersonic vehicle driven by Reaction Control System (RCS) to illustrate the effectiveness and rationality of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":153592,"journal":{"name":"The Open Automation and Control Systems Journal","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114124580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
