Many service chains, such as Starbucks and McDonald’s, established omnichannel capability by allowing customers to order online in advance before visiting stores for pickup. The premise of omnichannel services is that when customers take advantage of the low-cost-of-waiting online channel, both their utility and the provider’s revenue will increase. Although simply adding an online-ordering option to the conventional walk-in model stimulates revenue, it also inflicts interference on the walk-in channel. We show that online ordering inadvertently reduces customers’ individual utility and social welfare when both channels are used in equilibrium. Moreover, the less it costs to order and wait online, the more the social welfare is reduced. We then evaluate two industry state-of-the-art operational remedies: regulating the use of the online channel and establishing channel-dedicated capacities. Although both remedies may improve the throughput over the walk-in-only service or even the first-come-first-served omnichannel service, they are unlikely to achieve this without jeopardizing the social welfare. We thus propose prioritizing walk-in customers and show that such prioritization can deliver this premise—that is, simultaneously benefiting the service provider and customers in comparison with the conventional walk-in-only service when both channels are used in equilibrium. Our results highlight that creating an efficient marketplace requires synergy between innovative technology and effective operational strategies. In doing so, this paper tries to find out why do the agile models not suitable for Bangladesh’s Software Companies and how do the problems that the Software Companies face for using the models can be solved. To reveal the answers, this study is based on survey and interview methods. Findings of this paper show that Bangladesh's Software Companies are facing different problems for implementing traditional agile models, such as, Communicational gap, lack of Documentation, unavailability of Prototype, Customer’s lack of knowledge in the area of IT and many more. The study shows that if the Requirement Engineering Process is perfectly managed and some rules are modified in the traditional agile models, these problems can be solved. In doing so, a new model has been proposed by the study named Refined Agile Model (RAM) which is claimed to be better for Bangladesh rather than the traditional Agile Models. This model proposes a process flow which consists of Prototyping Cycle, Development Iteration Cycle and Additional Development Iteration Cycle. This new model also ensures a Requirement Engineer at Client End, sufficient documentation, preparation of prototype and presentation of frequent Demos. After ensuring these requirements in several real time projects, it was found that those projects were completed more effectively compared to all other old project experiences. Eventually, the paper concludes by mentioning that the Refined Agile Model (RAM) is the best model in the Bangladeshi software environment.","PeriodicalId":152219,"journal":{"name":"Information Technology & Systems eJournal","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131056625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We argue that equilibrium selection and chains of indirect dependence generated by strategic interactions are the main drivers of network dependence. Drawing on results in random-graph theory, we derive weak-dependence conditions under which a law of large numbers holds for a general class of network moments. A key condition restricts the strength of strategic interactions, which constitutes the network analog of conventional weak-dependence assumptions in time series and spatial econometrics that bound the magnitude of autoregressive parameters. We apply our result to estimating models of strategic network formation and treatment effects under network interference.","PeriodicalId":152219,"journal":{"name":"Information Technology & Systems eJournal","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129986450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, in an audit study of employers by a blinded worker, we find that working only for good employers yields 40% higher wages. Second, in an experiment that varied reputation, we find that good-reputation employers attract work of the same quality but at twice the rate as bad-reputation employers. This is the first clean, field evidence on the value of employer reputation. It can serve as collateral against opportunism in the absence of contract enforcement.","PeriodicalId":152219,"journal":{"name":"Information Technology & Systems eJournal","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129497497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although students tend to use many e-resources, use of learning management system is evidently low. This study aims to identify the factors that effect on use of leaning management system by undergraduates in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. A sample of 150 students was selected for the study using purposive sampling technique and a structured questionnaire was used in data collection. Descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis were used in the data analysis. The result reveals that the lecturer support, students commitment and perceived usefulness have a significant effect on use of learning management system by the undergraduates in the university. The university should take initiatives to encourage academic staff for delivering lectures and conducting assessments through the university learning management system. Future studies could validate the findings of the present study using a larger sample representing other universities in the system.","PeriodicalId":152219,"journal":{"name":"Information Technology & Systems eJournal","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130261992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is the reason for a growing interest in internet regulation. The stakes in network neutrality - that all traffic on the internet should be treated equally - are particularly high. This paper argues that technological, civil-libertarian, legal and economic arguments exist both for- and against net neutrality and that the decision is ultimately political. We therefore frame the issue of net neutrality as an issue of political economy. The main political economy arguments for net neutrality are that a net-neutral internet contributes to the reduction of inequality, preserves its openness and prevents artificial scarcity. With these arguments Slovenia, after Chile and the Netherlands, adopted net neutrality legislation. We present it as a case study for examining how political forces are affecting the choice of economic and technological policies. After a few years we are finding that proper enforcement is just as important as legislation.","PeriodicalId":152219,"journal":{"name":"Information Technology & Systems eJournal","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133799570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research mainly proposes on the integrated model of dependent variable loyalty of consumer behavior with six independent variables such as Efficiency, System availability, Fulfillment, price as perceived value elements. Explanatory research is adopted and data was collected using a questionnaire developed based on the past researches. The sample of 215 M-shoppers is collected using convenience sampling and then analyzed with help of AMOS 22 tool mainly verified normality, reliability, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modelling and path analysis. Correlation Analysis has been carried out for the latent constructs of the SEM to find the strength of relationship between variables and through the Path Analysis R-square value obtained indicated that the model explains most of the variability of the response data around its mean. Then, significance of the SEM is obtained using the P-value in which the exogenous variables ‘Efficiency & Privacy’ are found to be significant with the ‘Perceived Value’ and one of the exogenous variable ‘Price’ is found to be significant directly with the endogenous variable ‘Loyalty’. Mediating effects were considered to find the direct effects of exogenous variables on endogenous variables. Efficiency, privacy and price are the three important factors that any fashion industry in M-commerce should consider before marketing its products through mobile applications. Thus, businesses developing M-Commerce can come out with suitable value proposition for their M-shoppers based on the findings of this research.","PeriodicalId":152219,"journal":{"name":"Information Technology & Systems eJournal","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115660806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though traditional login/password based schemes are easy to implement, they have been subjected to several attacks. As alternative, token and biometric based authentication systems were introduced. However, they have not improved substantially to justify the investment. Thus, a variation to the login/password scheme, viz. graphical scheme was introduced.
