However; as in all developing system, difficulties arise at the time of application, one of the main problems affecting these networks is congestion that occurs in the nodes of the same. It is for this reason, that it is necessary to implement mechanisms for control of containment that can avoid the congestion in the system. This article presents control of containment mechanisms analysis by wavelength change, deflection of route and fiber delay lines in a distributed network obs to improve the communications of the future.","PeriodicalId":151973,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133741113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of content requires special settings to ensure quality of service, specially in the case of real-time video streaming. Currently, the state of the art mostly focuses on solving the QoS problem over traditional IEEE 802.11 networks, but few works try to evaluate the performance of QoS mechanisms over software-defined WLAN network scenarios. The Software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture helps to improve, simplify, and program the network management according to specific needs, making the design and deployment of new control policies easier and faster to implement. This paper presents an analysis of throughput and delay metrics behavior of QoS mechanisms from IEEE 802.11 standard such as admission control, implemented over a emulation scenario based on NS-3 integrated with SDN.","PeriodicalId":151973,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131128540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, it was carried out the assessment of the voice quality in the calls by means of the MOS, and the evaluation of the QoS through the verification of the recommended theoretical values for the technical parameters latency, jitter and packet loss. For this, real VoIP calls were performed in different case scenarios with softphone applications installed in smartphones. In the tests, eight voice codecs were used in order to determine which one allows to have the best voice quality and a good QoS during the calls performed. The comparisons of the voice codecs demonstrate that the codec iLBC-13.33 reported the best results for this case study.","PeriodicalId":151973,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115432854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method relies on finding the solution of the admittance or impedance determinantal equation of the small signal equivalent network model. The study presents four examples of the use of the method, and in particular it develops the conditions for a differential oscillator which is not a commonly discussed network in the literature. Results are verified by simulation for all the topologies and an experimental setup for a differential oscillator designed to operate at 30 MHz.","PeriodicalId":151973,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123789459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sin embargo, en la actualidad solo se cuenta con un sistema fragmentado, no estandarizado, no interconectado, que Iimita el acceso a esta información de manera integral. En los últimos tiempos se ha venido trabajando mecanismos para Iograr que esta centralización sea una realidad. Un ejemplo de ello es la Blockchain, que surge una tecnología que permitiría la construcción de un sistema con información centralizada, pero no dependiente de una única instancia, por su carácter participativo. Esta característica serviría para implementar sistemas EMR (Electronic Medical Records) flexible, robusto y seguro para almacenar la información médica de los pacientes. Este trabajo presenta el diseño de la plataforma BD-MED para el uso de redes blockchain para el acceso, registro y almacenamiento del historial clínico de los pacientes, incluso en escenarios con fallas de conectividad.","PeriodicalId":151973,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM)","volume":"322 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123237143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
