This paper presents a novel approach to calculate the reference compensation current of three phase DSTATCOM under distorted utility condition at instantaneous state. The proposed approach is compared with reviewed control strategies viz. instantaneous p-q theory, synchronous reference frame Method(SRF), Modified SRF Method(MSRF), instantaneous symmetrical component theory(ISCT) and Average unit power factor theory(AUPFT) for different three conditions. The performance of the system simulated in Matlab Platform and evaluated considering the source current total harmonic distortion. The result shows the Proposed Method has improved system performance as compared to others.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125204464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes the automated system to make effective utilization of water resources for agriculture and crop growth monitoring using GSM and Zigbee technology. Firstly, this system utilized rainwater from the harvest rainwater tank for irrigation and then bore well water has been used. The water use efficiency is increased in drip irrigation system by using soil moisture sensor, humidity sensor and temperature sensor. The signals from the sensors are coordinated by the microcontroller and transmitted to irrigation control centre (ICC) through Zigbee wireless radio communication. The optimized water use for an agriculture crops has been achieved in the ICC successfully. The growth status of the crop also monitored using IR transceiver. The device that can report data to the cultivator remotely and the system allow them to effectively control through GSM.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117105599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This power electronics based technology can be used individually or in coordination with other controllers. Static VAR Compensator (SVC) is a shunt connected FACTS device, used for voltage control and for reactive power compensation. In the existing system, the SVC uses a PI controller, which though simpler and cheaper, not suitable for non-linear characteristics. In order to overcome this, the controller is designed as a combination of both PI controller and Fuzzy Logic Controller, thereby gaining the joint advantages of both types. The designed model has been tested in a 2 machine 3 bus test system using MATLAB software. The simulation results show that the new controller logic gives better and quick performance compared to the other types.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121634985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present work aims to classify object shapes from EEG signals and tactile pressure signals obtained from a capacitive tactile sensor while exploring objects of different shapes; thereby drawing a mutual relation or dependence between these two sources of haptic information in response to the same tactile stimuli. It is evident from the classification results that object-shapes can be classified efficiently from both EEG and tactile signals with mean classification accuracy of 74.21% and 97.12% respectively. Correlation analysis using various metrics show that EEG and tactile signals are non- linearly correlated and only a very small amount of non linear correlation exists. The polynomial fitting of EEG signals on tactile signals depicts that in absence of brain signals tactile signals can successfully predict the corresponding EEG signals.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114784145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A helicopter system really needs a safety critical or reliable control system which faces a lot of turbulent conditions and is expected to perform well, being stable in the case of sensor or/and actuator failures. Also the helicopter system is difficult to model mathematically due to non- linearity and cross coupling. The Twin Rotor MIMO System (TRMS) resembles the helicopter system in behaviour with significant cross coupling between the longitudinal and lateral axes. In this paper an H infinity observer and H infinity controller for a Twin Rotor MIMO System is aimed to be designed which will be reliable in the case of sensor failure or actuator failure also in case of sensor failure and actuator failure.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"2 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116873201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here, we are going to create color noise and add with an audio signal, after that a model are introduced to eliminate that noise. This paper elaborates a new approach for noise cancellation in speech enhancement using an Adaptive LMS (Least Mean Square) filter and with the help of MATLAB Simulink we get the correct speech signal. This filter is used to remove the acoustic noise due to its simplicity in computation & robust behavior when implemented in finite-precision hardware. It provides better communication by suppressing the acoustic noise to a larger extent, since it provides a better balance between complexity & convergence speed. In spite of various methods, the results obtained in this way of noise cancellation are optimistic.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131109072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is because of the non-linearity of DACs present in the DDFS architecture. The conventional DDFS architecture doesn't account for the non-linearity of DAC which deteriorates the quality of the signal. This reduces the SNR and SFDR of the signal. This error can be reduced by the optimizing the values using Genetic algorithm.","PeriodicalId":151739,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130824827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
