We begin by briefly reviewing the diagrammatic and SCET approach, which are used to derive factorization theorems for physical observables in this kinematic limit. Then, we focus on the quark-gluon channel in deep inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan. We show that the use of consistency conditions for the cancellation of leading poles in the hadronic cross section can be used to achieve the resummation of large leading logarithms (LLs) at NLP, both within diagrammatic and SCET methods. In this context it is also possible to investigate the problem of endpoint divergences appearing at NLP in SCET, and relate its solution to the concept of re-factorization.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132078030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We study the power-suppressed configuration of the thrust distribution in the two-jet region, where a gluon-initiated jet recoils against a quark-antiquark pair. With the aid of operatorial endpoint factorization conditions, we derive a factorization formula where the individual terms are free from endpoint divergences and can be written in terms of renormalized hard, (anti) collinear, and soft functions in four dimensions. This framework enables us to perform the first resummation of the endpoint-divergent SCET I observables at the leading logarithmic accuracy using exclusively renormalization-group methods.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128706172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the calculation all double-, single and non-resonant Feynman diagrams, interferences and finite-width effects are included for the top quark and 𝑊 ± / 𝑍 gauge bosons. Numerical results are shown at the differential cross section level for various factorisation and renormalisation scale settings and a few PDF sets. The main theoretical uncertainties associated with neglected higher-order terms in the perturbative expansion and with different parametrisations of the PDFs are also discussed. Furthermore, we compare our complete predictions for 𝑝𝑝 → 𝑡 ¯ 𝑡𝐵 + 𝑋 in multi-lepton final states to the calculation in the narrow-width approximation.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125672004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Wilson coefficients are calculated perturbatively, while matrix elements of the operators require non-perturbative treatment for many processes, e.g. through lattice simulations. The resulting necessity to compute the transformation between the different renormalization schemes in the two calculations constitutes an important source of uncertainties. An elegant solution to this problem is provided by the gradient-flow formalism, already widely used in lattice simulations, because its composite operators do not require renormalization. In this contribution we report on the construction of the electroweak Hamiltonian in the gradient-flow formalism through NNLO in QCD.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"64 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113956613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The contributing Feynman integrals often lead to special classes of functions, for example, functions associated with elliptic curves. With the presence of more scales in the amplitudes, it becomes imperative to have a better understanding of the contributing Feynman integrals and using current cutting-edge technologies to tackle the growth in analytic and algebraic complexities. In particular, we start with discussing two-loop scattering amplitudes for top-quark pair production and conclude with motivating important steps towards obtaining next-to-next-to leading-order corrections for five-point processes.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126756023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this talk we will overview recent results and developments in the calculation of two-loop five-point amplitudes contributing towards achieving this goal. We will discuss challenges encountered in advancing the state-of-the-art beyond the class of massless five-point scattering. We will then present a basis set of transcendental functions sufficient to express any planar two-loop five-particle scattering amplitude with one external massive leg. This basis greatly facilitates derivation of compact analytic form of scattering amplitudes, and opens a possibility of their fast and reliable numerical evaluation. Applications for phenomenology of electroweak boson production can be reasonably anticipated in the near future.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123476556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This process probes Wtb vertex directly and can be used to measure the CKM matrix element $V_{tb}$ or to constrain the bottom quark PDF. The non-factorisable contributions are the last missing piece of the NNLO corrections. In these proceedings, we discuss in a first part the ostensible importance of such corrections and the obtention of the different relevant amplitudes. Through a Mellin transformation, they are related to anomalous dimensions of twist-two operators in the operator product expansion. We study off-shell operator matrix element, where the physical operators mix under renormalization with other gauge-variant operators of the same quantum numbers. We devise a new method to systematically extract the Feynman rules resulting from those operators without knowing the operators themselves. Notably, the flavour singlet operators, such as those associated to the gluon distribution, mix under renormalisation with a set of unphysical operators, also known as aliens. Missing this effect leads to wrong results already for the two-loop anomalous dimensions. The correct renormalisation of gluonic operators is an important step towards the computation of the scale evolution of flavour singlet parton distributions, which is now required to 4 loops. Leveraging both the background field method and an enhanced BRST symmetry, we construct the required ghost and alien operator basis up to 4 loops for arbitrary mass dimensions. Furthermore, we extract anomalous dimensions at 4 loops, for the physical operators of mass-dimension 4 and 6, and at 3 loops for mass-dimension 8.","PeriodicalId":151433,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Loops and Legs in Quantum Field Theory — PoS(LL2022)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133275498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
