Trauma that occurs to a child's teeth can interfere speech, chewing, aesthetics and the eruption of permanent teeth, thereby disrupting the growth and development of the teeth and jaw. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the approach regarding the first treatment of trauma to primary teeth for parents and children. The choice of Community Service target at RA Al-Muttaqin was due to a request from the school principal as community leader. Education and training activities were carried out on July 27 2023 for a total of 20 teachers and parents. The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge and motivate changes in attitudes and behavior in maintaining oral health and regarding first care for primary tooth trauma. The initial assessment of knowledge and attitudes regarding primary care for trauma to primary teeth and the mouth of teachers was carried out through a pre-test. Counseling on how to maintain healthy teeth and mouth, including dental and oral health problems, prevention methods, as well as first care for primary tooth trauma by the presenter as well as educational videos. As an evaluation, a post test was carried out. The evaluation of the post test results showed an increase in scores. Recommendations for continuing this training activity in other elementary schools, especially for teachers in the school environment.","PeriodicalId":150949,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL ABDIMAS KESEHATAN TERPADU","volume":"31 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139007701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Poor oral health can lead into systemic or local infections that will affect general health, especially in the elderly who have impaired physiologic or pathologic function. Increased knowledge will improve their oral hygiene. Therefore, to increase members' knowledge and awareness to oral health, FKG Trisakti held an education to maintain their oral health and dentures. Employees of Yvonne's Catering located in Cipinang Muara, possess oral health problems such as cavities, swollen gums, bad breath, and significant number of tooth loss. These problems affect employees' day-to-day performance – bad breath gets in the way of employees talking to customers, and toothaches affect employees while working in the kitchen. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people were afraid to have their teeth checked by dentists because dental treatment was considered a high risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection. Based on the problems above, Yvonne's Catering employees need training and education about the importance of maintaining oral health to prevent cavities which are closely related to overall health, and providing an understanding of emergency cases that need to be treated immediately to prevent the conditions from worsening that can be life-threatening. Information regarding the importance of implementing the 5M health protocol (wearing mask, washing hands, keeping distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility) to protect oneself from exposure to the COVID-19 virus was also provided, including when visiting dentists. The main purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in maintaining maximum oral hygiene. Other goals in this community service include providing alternatives as an effort to maintain oral hygiene and health by making their own mouthwash using natural ingredients from their surroundings, such as Ocimum basilicum.","PeriodicalId":150949,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL ABDIMAS KESEHATAN TERPADU","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134537852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Delay in emergency dental treatment after trauma will increase the risk of complications, non-vital teeth and an unpredictable prognosis.Dental emergencies often occur at the elementary school level and the most common cases are loose or avulsed teeth due to falls and impacts. Teachers in schools not only have a central role as educators, but teachers also act as first aid agents in dealing with health problems in schools. In addition, teachers also play a role and assist health workers in collecting data and also as the first emergency referral before being handled by health workers.SDI Assalaam has a staff of 46 teachers and 250 students. Having students who are actively moving has a risk of accidents such as falling and so on which can cause injury, especially the oral cavity, while knowledge of dental emergencies and their management according to the Principal of SDI Assalaam has never been received by the teachers who teach at SDI Assalaam , so that if there is a dental emergency the teachers don't know what action to take.To overcome the lack of knowledge about dental emergencies and their management. The Covid-19 pandemic is now gradually coming to an end. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out counseling and training regarding oral and dental health in the diver community during adaptation to new habits. Training and counseling will be carried out using online methods or distance learning using presentations on how to maintain dental and oral health in the Corona Diving Club diver community. Training and counseling were carried out for 20 community member cadres for 60 minutes, by giving presentations and followed by questions and answers. Increased knowledge about dental and oral health, measured by giving questionnaires before and after exposure to the material. The results are expected to increase the knowledge and abilities of the Indonesian cloth-loving community in Jakarta in maintaining oral health during the adaptation period to new habits during the Covid-19 pandemic.
