By introducing new memory structures, the search method can learn about the solution space in which it is operating. The memory model is based on the transfer of events from episodic memory into generalised rules stored in semantic memory. Satisfactory solutions, focused on the elimination of open periods and isolated classes, allowed the \"Escola Estadual Padre Rog¿rio Abdala\" to process automatization for 2004 and 2005 school terms consecutively. In this paper, a hybrid variation is proposed (memetic algorithm) in order to improve the algorithm robustness. The present work investigates a new architecture through observations of natural immunological behavior, for which application to known algorithms contributed toward an improved performance. This paper considers a boarding where the antibodies are grouped in an organized way and from an evolutionary process the antibodies that belong to these groupings can improve the adaptive immune reply to a determined antigen. Thus, antibodies of the same class are in the same grouping. Our method, called EANT, Evolutionary Acquisition of Neural Topologies, starts from a minimal network structure and gradually develops it further using evolutionary reinforcement learning. We have improved EANT by combining it with an optimisation technique called CMA-ES, Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy. Results from experiments with a 3 DOF visual servoing task show that the new CMAES based EANT develops very good networks for visual servoing. The shape features of images are represented by CSS images extracted from, for example, a large database and they are processed using the PCA technique. These processed CSS images constitutes the training dataset for a SOM neural network which, in turn, will be used for performing efficient image retrieval.
