Cooperation between related organizations about environmental issues is now more important than before. It has covered environmental reporting in several complementary stages. In addition, it has established its new reporting based on the field of environmental disclosure. The latest version of reporting is the integrated reporting, which is the most important environmental disclosure. Usually, any new version on any topic should cover the limitations of the previous version. This paper is a review study. In this study, environmental accounting and its limitations are first explained. Integrated reporting is then discussed as the newest type of financial and non-financial reporting. Finally, the possibility of covering the environmental accounting constraints is examined through integrated reporting. The results showed that the transparency in environmental accounting figures, democratization and information linkages are likely to be achieved through the implementation of integrated reporting. Therefore, it will be effective in covering the limitations of environmental accounting.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73692444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The urine sample was taken the first time in January and the second time in June. The mean concentration of hippuric acid, 2, 3 and 4- methyl hippuric acid in the investigated urine of the workers were 0.245, 0.017, 0.012, and 0.101g/g creatinine, respectively. There was no relationship between variable of season and levels of hippuric acid, 2, 3 and 4- methyl hippuric acid in the urine of exposed and control groups. There was no significant difference in the analyzed results of urine samples between control and exposure groups. There was at least one methyl hippuric acid isomer, indicating that all subjects were exposed to xylene, which was lower than the threshold limit value. In conclusion, the variable of season cannot cause a significant change in the metabolites of toluene and xylene isomers. Exposure of workers to toluene and xylene at gas stations are within acceptable limits.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81975389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present study, 20 surface and 16 groundwater samples were collected in pre- and post-monsoon seasons from Jajrood river basin, Tehran, Iran. The samples were analyzed for totally 18 physicochemical water quality characteristics to assess the river and groundwater qualities. Hydrogeochemical analyses of groundwater samples were also performed to determine the water quality index (WQI) for drinking use and to evaluate factors governing the water quality characteristic in the study area. Accordingly, Piper diagram as well as Gibbs and Chadha’s plots were applied to assess seasonal variations in hydrochemical facies and to evolve the hydrochemical processes in the basin. Sub – surface soil samples were also examined with respect to the structure, elemental composition and multi- elemental trace analysis. Results showed the abundance of major ions in the order of Ca+2 > Na+ > Mg+2 > K+, and HCO3- > SO42- > Cl- > NO3- > F-. In general, all drinking groundwater samples met WHO permissible limits except for chemical oxygen demand (COD) and HCO3-. Moreover, the water is categorized as Ca-Mg-HCO3 type. Sub surface soil analyses demonstrated quartz and calcium carbonate as the main phases of soil structure suggesting the enrichment of groundwater with temporary hardness. Overall, the groundwater quality was suitable for drinking uses and agricultural activities.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72856108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to calculate life expectancy by gender in rural areas of Kurdistan province. This study as descriptive epidemiological project was aim to explore the life expectancy in rural area of Kurdistan.Data was collected directly using mortality information (statistics available in the health center of Kurdistan province and the registered population in 2013. The findings showed that life expectancy is not the same in rural areas of Kurdistan province. Life expectancy at birth for men and women in rural areas of the province is estimated at 70.6 years. Life expectancy is 72 years for women and 69.3 years for men. The highest life expectancy of men is in Saqez city with 70.9 and the lowest in Dehgolan city with 67.6 years. The highest life expectancy is estimated in rural women with 74 years in Baneh city and the lowest in Divandere city with 69.4 years. Life expectancy results showed inequality in terms of gender and at the level of rural areas of Kurdistan province. Comparatively, the results showed that the national average life expectancy in rural areas of Iran is more than 2 years higher than rural areas of Kurdistan province. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the level of life expectancy in rural areas of Kurdistan province, fair distribution of facilities and services to villages, the second is to prioritize rural areas based on health services.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76488007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The thermal comfort is the environmental factors affecting the reactive behavior of people in urban open spaces. In the present study, aiming at investigating the relationship between psychic components and landscape structure and its effect on the thermal assessment of individuals, three methods are used; the descriptive method for explaining the psychic components and landscape structure as well as the survey method for determining the relation and correlation between research variables along with the experimental method for testing the variables using certain tools. Thermal analysis done by computer simulation method in ENVI-met software in the Karoon river area in Ahvaz city. The index used for assessing the thermal comfort is UTCI. In order to find the relationship between the research variables, the field data collections were accomplished by arranging questionnaires and in a random way by Cochran formula. The findings demonstrated the existence of a relationship between landscape structure and different psychic states in individuals. In fact, the moods of the individuals in open spaces affect their landscape qualification and thermal assessment. Eventually, and based on the findings of the study, it could be stated that the mental condition and psychic state of the individuals in different situations has definitely affected their qualification of the landscape structure, landscape quality as well as their reactive behavior while it would overshadow their thermal assessment.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"374 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76427656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the possible health risks of mercury from amalgam on the nervous, respiratory, renal, and endocrine systems, it is however, used in some countries, even though Sweden, Denmark, Canada, the United States and Japan have long banned the use of amalgam. Amalgam restorations are one of the main mercury-releasing sources (1800-2700 tons per year) of contamination. During chewing, grinding, brushing of teeth, breaking down of amalgam and as the temperature of the oral environment increases mercury vapor will be released. The mercury vapor enters atmosphere, wastewater in dental offices, all systemic organs, especially the lower respiratory tract, can affect the renal-urinary system or enters breast milk, fetus and finally transmits to infants. The mercury level released from amalgam in blood, urine, hair and nail of large populations of dentists, dental assistants and pregnant women is higher than the safe levels. The main neurological and psychological effects of mercury vapor include in the form of sleep disorders, amnesia, mental disorders, hair loss, memory disturbances, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, kidney diseases, gene-toxicity, Alzheimer, Autism, skin allergies-cancer, infertility, low-birth-weight infants and heart diseases. In order to avoid further amalgam risks to the dentists, dental assistants, pregnant women and wildlife ecosystem, it is suggested to replace the dental amalgam by composite resins.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"12 4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78316332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is the result of pilot-scale research on Gravity Rapid Sand Filter (GRSF). The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the performance of the Triple Media Filter (TMF) (Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) + anthracite + garnet) and Dual-Media Filter (DMF) (anthracite + sand) in the removal of Natural Organic Matter (NOM) as a precursor of trihalomethanes (THMs) and chlorination Disinfection by Products (DBPs). As well as filtration rate performed at conventional (120 m/d) and a high rate (240 m/d), and compared with full-sized Single Media Filter (SMF) with a sand media. The removal efficiency of Turbidity, Color, UV absorption at a wavelength of 254nm (UV254), and Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) parameters were investigated. Besides, the Specific Ultraviolet Absorbance (SUVA) was calculated from the ratio of UV254 to DOC. The results showed that the Multimedia Filter (MMF) at 120 and 240 m/d filtration rate had higher removal efficiency compared to a control SMF in removing measured parameters (p-value <0.05). Also, similar filters, have shown the same efficiency relative to each other in different loading rates and there was an insignificant difference. MMF can significantly remove organic pollutants and control the formation of DBPs during water treatment. The study suggests that SMF should be replaced with MMF to improve water quality.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"68 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73756959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: This is an applied study. The type of sampling was composite by three 5 L containers. Wastewater chemical and physical characteristics were measured in accordance with the standard methods. The concentration of un-removed metal ions was estimated by ICP-OES. The Jar test was used to carry out the chemical coagulation experiment. The results indicated that the rate of removal depended on the pH of 1.5-11, the diverse contact time of 30-120 min, and the coagulant measurement ranging from 0.5-2 g/l. Results: The optimum removal of Cr(VI) ions was observed at a pH of 7 up to 83.88% in 0.5 g/l of coagulant for 40 min. While the optimum removal of Ni(II) ions was found at a pH of 5 up to 56.33 % in 0.5 g/l of coagulant for 40 min. The scanning electron microscopy results revealed the difference between the coagulant surface while coagulation. Also, the Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis showed the presence of Cr(VI) and Ni(II) ions on the surface of the ferrous sulfate after coagulation. Conclusion: Ultimately, the results indicated that ferrous sulfate could be an operative chemical coagulant to remove Cr(VI) and Ni(II) ions from the plating industry wastewater, especially for Cr(VI) particles. The results of this study can be a useful guide to the real plating industry wastewater treatment operators.","PeriodicalId":14962,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Environmental Health Research","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72904884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
