The prevalence of dentigerous cysts involving the permanent ramus is just 1.5%. Radiologic evaluation of the cystic lesion is compulsory to decide the duration of decompression for large lesion, the time of enucleation, and also to evaluate the time required for the new bone formation. In this case report, we present a case of a dentigerous cyst associated with ectopically erupted mandibular third molar in close proximity to the posterior border of the mandibular ramus which was treated by enucleation procedure under general anesthesia.","PeriodicalId":14943,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Clinical and Research Insights","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83673564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These materials may experience color change for surface roughness. To reduce it, a polishing technique is required with a time setting specified. Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different polishing time on the color stability of provisional materials. Materials and Methods: One hundred and forty-four resin blocks were prepared, divided into Group A, PMMA acrylic resin and Group B, bis-acryl resin. They were polished with goat hairbrush and diamond paste. Twenty-four hours stored in distilled water and 12th day on the staining solution coffee and wine. They were measured with a spectrophotometer, analyzed, and processed with the CieLab system, to calculate color difference ∆E. Results: On the 3rd day of the immersion period, the lowest mean value was showed with 1 min polishing on Group A, showing to be statistically significant, P = 0.011. In Group B, the lowest mean value was showed with 1 min 30 s. At the 7th and 12th days immersion period, the lowest mean value was showed with 30 s polishing among the groups. Conclusions: Polishing 30 s showed the lowest ∆E values on PMMA and bis-acryl resin. Mean color differences were above the clinical acceptability threshold ∆E > 3.3. Regarding the staining agent, the highest ΔE values were observed in coffee.","PeriodicalId":14943,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Clinical and Research Insights","volume":"87 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74655730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the care of children, anxiety, pain, and fear stand as a barrier. Hypnosis is a procedure in which the actions of the child’s interpretation of the therapy can be changed. Aim: The goal of the study is to test the efficacy of hypnosis by reducing their discomfort, fear, and anxiety to induce a positive attitude in children toward care and the dentist. Materials and Methods: Fifty children were selected randomly for this study. Parent and patient consent were taken before initiating the procedure. Children selected were between the age of 6 and 14 years. Twenty-five children were taken into the control group (hypnotized) and the rest 25 was taken as non-control group (not hypnotized). Magnetic fingers exercise was the induction technique used here. Results: It was found that the children who undergone hypnosis had given a rating of 0–4 no hurt to hurt a little bit) while those who were not hypnotized had given a rating of 3–9 and pulse rate was lower in children who were hypnotized. Conclusion: Hypnosis and comprehensive preparation and selection of patients can be successfully utilized by pedodontists to tame the child’s mind toward care and instill inside the child a positive mindset.","PeriodicalId":14943,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Clinical and Research Insights","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76742963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These medications mainly include antihypertensives, anticonvulsants, and immunosuppressants class of drugs. Here, we describe a case of amlodipine-induced massive gingival enlargement in a 40-year-old male patient with chronic smoking habit. The patient was advised regarding the gingival enlargement and its probable cause. His family physician was consulted, who substituted an angiotensin receptor blocker for the amlodipine. He was further counseled for tobacco cessation, instructed on good oral hygiene techniques, and advised for a surgical periodontal treatment.","PeriodicalId":14943,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Clinical and Research Insights","volume":"72 1","pages":"13-15"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85491537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One among the main principles in pan facial fracture repair is to accurately restore the facial buttresses in all three dimensions. However, the precise order during which the fractures are repaired has been much debated. The main aim of treating this kind of fractures is to restore the proper form and function. Here in this case report, we treated a patient of pan facial fracture secondary to road traffic accident using “top to bottom approach” and we conclude that this approach provides a proper restoration of the form and function by providing a harmony in occlusal, vertical and horizontal relationship of the facial structures.","PeriodicalId":14943,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Clinical and Research Insights","volume":"407 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84870936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In literature till now, much <150 sufferers have been suggested. DA accounts for about 4–13% of ameloblastoma, showing significant variations in anatomical site, imaging, and histologic appearance. We are presenting a case of DA in a 55-year-old female patient with a painless swelling in the anterior region of maxilla. Radiographic features of this lesion were indicative of ameloblastoma. An excisional biopsy confirmed it to a case of DA.
