These naturally available materials are affected by the \u0000residual presence of pesticides. The concentration of pesticides in honey comb \u0000then reflects the leftover after degradation. In this study, samples of honey \u0000were collected from five different farms in Plateau State and analyzed for \u0000pesticide residues (atrazine, cypermethrin) and heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cr, Fe \u0000and Mn) using GC-MS and AAS techniques. Results of the analysis indicated that \u0000atrazine and cypermethrin were found in the range (0.01 - 0.36 and 0.11 - 0.26) \u0000mg/kg, respectively in all the samples. Mn and Fe were found across the samples \u0000while Cd was detected only in the sample obtained from Maraban Jos (0.0013 \u0000mg/kg). Except Bokkos and Maraban Jos, Pb was detected in other samples. This \u0000study revealed that all samples contained the selected pesticide residues above \u0000the maximum residue limits recommended by European Union, while concentration \u0000of heavy metals in all the samples except Mn was below the maximum \u0000concentration limits recommended by Food and Agriculture Organization. Fouad","doi":"10.4236/jasmi.2021.114004","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4236/jasmi.2021.114004","url":null,"abstract":"Eco-friendly Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) with green aqueous-organic mobile phase was applied for the simultaneous determination of febuxostat (FEB) and diclofenac (DIC) with the composition of water:ethanol (85:15 v/v) utilizing phenomenex Kinetex C 18 column (4.6 × 100 mm 2.6 µm), flow rate 1 ml/min and UV detection at 280 nm with linear ranges of 0.4 - 4.0 μg/mL and 0.5 - 5.0 μg/mL for FEB and DIC, respectively. The proposed method was also successfully applied to analyze the two drugs in pharmaceutical dosage form and human plasma. The results obtained were validated and statistically analyzed and found to be in accordance with those given by reported methods. Moreover, the greenness of the developed method is assessed using suitable analytical Eco-Scale and GAPI tools and comparison with the previously published methods have been carried out to indicate the priority of the proposed method. Some students have been observed to achieve higher while some achieve lower even after being exposed to the same subject matter by the same instructor. The objective of the study was to determine if locus of control correlated with academic achievement of students as moderated by gender and school-type. The study was anchored on attribution theory. The study adopted a correlational research design. A total of 388 SS3 students in Aba Education zone were selected using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. Instruments for data collection were an adopted LOC scale and students’ exam scores in Mathematics, English and CRS. To determine the reliability of the instrument, Kuder-Richardson reliability test (KR-20) was employed and an overall coefficient of 0.76 was obtained for LOC scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Results showed significant relationship between locus of control and academic achievement of male students. Results also showed significant relationship between locus of control and academic achievement of public school students. Based on the findings, it was recommended that school authority should encourage good performance by rewarding students with excellent performance, because when good behaviour is rewarded, the individual is motivated to do better. The system is used for research and training in the field of material structure analysis by neutron scattering and diffraction techniques. It is designed on the basis of inheriting the neutron measurement spectrometer systems at the DNR and the scattered neutron measurement systems in the world. The measuring system, which was installed at the horizontal channel 4 of the DNR, consists of 5-helium-3 detectors and a fully electronic system to record the scatter counts and a mechanical system with the possibility of rotating at 15˚ - 75˚ angles.
