Rosehip fruits were harvested in 6 different times from July to September. TPC content and antioxidant activities were determined by spectrophotometric methods. TPC and antioxidant activities of the studied species increased during ripening. TPC (1510.57 mg GAE 100 g/H-6) and antioxidant activities (TEAC: 364.12 μmol trolox equivalent g/H-6 and FRAP: 286.79 μmol trolox equivalent g/H-6) were higher in R. dumalis (MR-15) than the other studied species. There was a high correlation between the TPC and the antioxidant activity. Also, there was a positive correlation between maturation, phenolics and antioxidant activities. This correlation was high in R. dumalis and low in R. canina. However, it was not possible to express the existence of a relationship between temperature, TPC, and antioxidant activity. It was possible to express the existence of correlations between the color of fruits and some studied characteristics. The correlations between the colors of the fruits and TPC and antioxidant activity of R. dumalis were found higher than the other species.","PeriodicalId":14931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology","volume":"30 1","pages":"817-828"},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85940350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"农林科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The coefficient of determination of fitted the linear regression to the values of leaf length multiple by leaf width was much higher than the value of the fitted to a single independent value. When planting density is increased the index (the value of leaf length divided leaf width) increase, especially leaf length was higher than leaf width of tomato plant. Although estimated a single leaf area with increase leaf position showed a large residual between measured and fitted values, a tendency suggest that few measured leaf length was long width wide leaf width. In order to make a good regression model a research would observed the elongation of the leaf width and length, season, cultivar (cherry, medium and large tomato group) for stabilizing the coefficient of the regression.","PeriodicalId":14931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"11-14"},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75557808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"农林科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: The objective was to determine if epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has ability to reduce differentiation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and alter expression of aberrant lipid metabolism-related genes in HepG2 hepatocytes. Results: EGCG attenuated differentiation related gene expressions of adipocytes likely due to retarding glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 cells. EGCG decreased the concentration of cholesterol in HepG2 cell, resulting in the similar degree of suppression in apoB 100, and of enhancement in LDL receptor and HMG-CoA reductase mRNA levels. Conclusion: These results demonstrated that EGCG can act directly to inhibit differentiation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes and reduce abnormality in lipid metabolism-related genes in HepG2 hepatocytes, thus, could be a potent adjuvant in the treatment of obesity and metabolism","PeriodicalId":14931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology","volume":"83 1","pages":"25-32"},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88106170","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"农林科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As water contents treated were 30, 35, 40, 45, 50±5%, the leaf temperature was lower 0.5 to 1.1 (cid:59282) , but pericarp temperature was higher 1.8 (cid:59282)(cid:71) than air temperature in August. On second day of water limit, leaf temperature was highest at 3 pm and higher 2.8 (cid:59282)(cid:71) than air temperature. After about 60 days of water limit, leaf temperature as affected by below 40% water content was similar with or higher than air temperature. Therefore these results could be used as a water stress index, however, it would be considered that more investigation and analysis on leaf temperature changes by time passes were needed.","PeriodicalId":14931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology","volume":"92 1","pages":"7-10"},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74964945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"农林科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rosa multiflora thornless cultivar ‘Hort No. 1’ was cut 20cm and stored in 4 cool conditioned chamber for a week in September 20th 2013. The effect of rooting media was investigated by using various media (Vermiculite 100%; Perlite 100%; Vermiculite 50% : Perlite 50%) and was prepated in 24 tray pot for hardwood cutting. Seasonal rooting efficiency was studied for six month periods from Sempember 2013 till March 2014 in the mixed-media (Vermiculite 50% : Perlite 50%) for the hardwood cutting of Rosa multiflora. All the measures were conducted after two months of cutting. The mixed-media showed best rooting efficiency, and hardwood cutting in November was most efficient. Thereafter, we propose to perform hardwood cutting in Rosa multiflora in November in the mixed-media.","PeriodicalId":14931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology","volume":"20 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89055262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"农林科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
