A new approach based on HFLC is presented in this paper to avoid collisions with obstacles. In fact, HFLC consists of a number of low-dimensional standard fuzzy systems connected in a hierarchical fashion. Hence, it can provide a good candidate for solving high-dimensional problems. Simulation results show that the used method is powerful and effective.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116767978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vehicle model based on roll, yaw and lateral dynamics is used. The vehicle dynamics is represented by a LPV (Linear Parameter Varying) and the corresponding state-space model is affected by both polytopic and norm-bounded uncertainties. It is aimed to compute K, associated with the static output feedback, so as to place the set of all eigenvalues of the uncertain closed-loop state matrix Acl in a clustering region, denoted by D, while minimizing the effect of the disturbances on the system and ensuring the D-stability of Acl. This paper proposes an original technique, based on the resolution of ℒMI, to compute K. In order to highlight the performance of the proposed control algorithm, numerical simulations are performed.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125126926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the strong similarities between the two paradigms, they are considered different by the academic community. This paper discusses the analogies between the two paradigms when applied to the control of non-linear systems. After establishing a link between the modelling framework, the conditions under which the obtained controllers lead to equivalent control laws are presented. The discussion is completed by an application example which serves to illustrate the analogies and equivalences presented in the paper.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"16 30","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132939616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main contribution of the proposed controller consists on the estimation and attenuation of the effect of disturbances and unknown skidding and slipping simultaneously without the need of torque measurement. First, a desired velocity input is designed using Backstepping techniques. Then, an adaptive dynamic controller, which contains two adaptive laws, is proposed to guarantee good tracking performance. The system stability and the convergence of the tracking errors are rigorously proven using Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, simulation results are illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed controller in comparison with the classic sliding mode control.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115803226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To deliver maximum power from the photovoltaic system to the load under climatic variations, and to control a boost converter, MPPT based on ripple correlation control (RCC) technique has been used. Also to improve the performance of this MPPT and to overcome the uncertainties and perturbations in the photovoltaic system, a strategy of two-layer control structure are developed to effectively handle it. The first part of the strategy use the ripple correlation control (RCC) technique, and the second part use aPI controller. This algorithm was experimentally implemented. Data acquisition and control system were implemented using dSPACE1104. The practical results show that the proposed system tracked the maximum power accurately and successfully under the change of solar irradiation.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133581790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, it has received such attention due to the fact that earlier methods have encountered major drawbacks in the past. These drawbacks have either caused the non-convergence of the optimization algorithm, or led to the decrease in its performance. This paper investigates a new technique based on Genetic Algorithms (GA's) for estimating these derivatives within the well-known Integrated System Optimization and parameter Estimation (ISOPE) algorithm. It is shown using simulations on a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) system how the proposed GA technique can successfully estimate the derivative information and lead the ISOPE algorithm to converge to the right optimum point. Moreover, the technique is able to effectively estimate some unknown model parameters, is less computationally burdened and stable compared to earlier methods.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"217 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116714872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This degradation can cause unwanted stops at any time and major maintenance work sometimes. Prognostic activity is now recognized as a key feature in maintenance strategies, it gives operators a potent tool in decision making by quantifying how much time is left until functionality is lost. The reason is to plan the heavy interventions and to manage the stock of spare parts. In addition, it can be used to improve the characterization of the material proprieties that govern damage propagation for the structure being monitored. The tool for measuring the size of damage and health status in industry is the Remaining Useful Life (RUL), which can be estimated by using four main approaches, namely experience based, model-based, data-driven and hybrid approaches. A new method of prognosis is developed in this paper to improve the accuracy of the system state. This framework of forecasting integrates the model-based information and the hybrid approach, which employs the structured residuals in the first one and the Particle Filter in the second. The performance of the suggested fusion prognostic framework is employed to predict the RUL of battery pack in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV).","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129598799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This intelligent control method is applied to a DC/DC Buck-Boost converter. The main difference between the proposed systems to existing MPPT control systems is that it includes an automatic determination of the main switch duty cycle which permits an optimal operation of the control circuit under steady and perturbed environmental conditions. The maximum power point tracking controllers receive solar radiation and photovoltaic cell temperature as inputs, and it estimates the optimum duty cycle corresponding to maximum power as output. The different steps of the design of the intelligent controller are presented hereby with some simulation results using Matlab/Simulink software.","PeriodicalId":149249,"journal":{"name":"2016 5th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126290345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
