The critical fiber length and optimum fiber loading were identified with the maximum level of mechanical properties in this composite. The fractured surfaces of composites after testing were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results revealed that the addition of CGFs is improving the mechanical properties of the PF composite. The properties of composites reach the properties of the neat resin sample at 20 vol% of all the cases. The critical fiber length and the optimum fiber loading to obtain the maximum mechanical properties were identified as 9 mm and 40 vol% respectively. Experimental tensile property values were compared with theoretical values and found to be in good agreement.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"45 1","pages":"6043-6050"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85018503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mail id: vmsivakumar@gmail.com ABSTRACT Due to the development of Industrialization and urbanization, a wide variety of industrial and consumer products, by products and solid waste has been produced. The solid waste generated constitutes the hazardous substance which possesses certain impacts on humans and their environment. In that heavy metal pollution from industries are the serious environmental problems. Rapid development in industries in the last few decades resulted in the strenuous task for finding to manage the waste generated. These hazardous solid wastes have been formulated into reusable end product by the process of bioremediation. Bioremediation is a natural process, which involves the use of organism to remove or neutralize the toxic pollutant from the contamination site. This review focus on the toxic effects of heavy metals on the environment and on the human health as well as the possible bioremediation method of these metals using fungus and earthworm. In order to conserve the environment and resources, the biological remediation by both fungus and earthworm for heavy metals and their efficiency have been summarised in detail. Thequality of the product is determined by controlling the temperature of the mold cavity. The mold cavity temperature controlwith the conventional ON/OFF, PI, and PID controllers have several disadvantages. This paper proposes the method toreduce settling time and undershoot in cavity temperature control with selected evolutionary algorithms. The controllerparameters are optimized with Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm for PID and I-PDcontrollers by considering Mean Square Error (MSE) as fitness function. Compared to conventional methods theparameter optimization using soft computing methods such as GA and PSO improves the performance indices of PID andI-PD controllers.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"6 1","pages":"4389-4397"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77658265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The separation of the analytes was achieved within 10min, employing a mixture of 50% v/v methanol-water containing 35.07 mM/L ammonium acetate adjusted to pH 5.58 as isocratic mobile phase, pumped at 1.0 ml min-1 through a strong cation exchange column (10µm particle size). The analytes were detected at 265nm. Statistical experimental designs and graphic representations (response surface methodologies, Pareto charts) were used for optimizing the mobile phase composition. The linearity of the calibration (r>0.99, n =18) in the relevant ranges (up to 125% of the expected concentrations of the analytes in the formulation), method accuracy (RSD <2.0%), repeatability (RSD<2.0%) and intermediate precision, were verified. System suitability parameters were also determined. The validated method was successfully employed for the routine analysis of a syrup pharmaceutical preparation against cough and cold, showing satisfactory analytes recoveries and precsion.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"33 1","pages":"6011-6017"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91017823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reaction rate is first order in [PCC] and fractional order in [H + ] and has aldehyde as a product. The rate of reaction increases with increase in the percentage of acetic acid medium. The reactions exhibit kinetic isotope effect. The activation parameters have been evaluated. The added Mn (II) decreases the rate of reaction. The added sodium chlorate has no effect on the reaction rate and indicates the absence of ion-ion (or) ion- dipole interaction in the slow step. The deviation of Hammett plot is noted and a “V” shaped curve is obtained.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"34 1","pages":"4434-4441"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87402766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our area of research aims at exploring the wide spread applications of the use of ozone a chemical compound that has the property of being a strong oxidant along with its potent capabilities of being a disinfecting agent in the food processing industry. Specifically focusing on the implication of the ozonized based processing techniques on the food and animal related processed products which include goat skin and manufacturing of starch. During the phase of the research we compared the impacts, advantages on using Ozone based processing technique over the existing methods like salt curing, and starch manufacturing from tapioca starch involves peeling, washing, rasping, screening, dewatering, drying, pulverization, dry screening and packaging. Ozonised skins kept exposed to atmospheric air were more impervious to microbial activity is in existence. This opens up the likelihood of applying Ozonisation innovation to protect goatskins so as to take out earth unsafe salt curing. And improving the whiteness property of sago starch without creating any harmful by products using Ozonisation based techniques.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"29 1","pages":"6005-6010"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85590070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study focuses on assessing the toxicity of heavy metals available in effluents discharged from industries and the accumulation ability of an aquatic plant, Eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth). Phytoremedial potential of E. Crassipes and HM interaction between soil and water were evaluated in the present study under the presence of cow dung manure as an enhancer. Heterogenous accumulation of metal ions were found in the plant. Heavy metal concentration in plant parts were varied for roots and shoots. The concentration of HM ions in the plant parts were varied from root to shoot. Value of translocation factor (TF) was found to be in the region 0.5 – 0.8, with Fe has low (0.51) and Pb has high (0.77), bioconcentration factor (BCF) were in the order of Ar > Ca > Zn > Fe > Pb at both roots and shoots. Transposition factor (TrF) of all HM ions were >1.5 except for Zn (1.21). E. Crassipes was found to accumulate a large amount of HM ions and could be used for efficient treatment of contaminated water.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"31 1","pages":"5997-6004"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74520025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is predicted that the safety analysis techniques now in place are quite difficult to address the potential risks which weakens the era. A novel approach of analyzing different crucial criteria in different industrial sectors is analyzed carefully in this paper. In this unique approach, fuzzy AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique is applied to determine the respective weights of three main criteria and seventeen sub-criteria as a way of enriching the decision making process while in a dilemma. A survey was initiated in different industrial sectors to obtain reliable data for the research. The results shows that the main criteria ‘human safety’ acquired a weight of 72.5% while the respective weights of main criteria machine safety and work environment safety falls to 8.9% and 18.4%. The weight of the main criteria, human safety indicates that the sub-criteria such as eye protection, manual lifting, material handling practices, fire fighting drills, training and safety officers are implemented to a greater extent in most of the surveyed industries.","PeriodicalId":14904,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY","volume":"22 1","pages":"5967-5990"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85531924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
