Firstly the DW context is introduced, focusing in three related and critical issues: the data source integration, component reuse and performance bottlenecks. Then we discuss the actual implicit architecture found in the runtime system, identifying the problems. Finally the proposed architecture is presented. It has two views: a static made with filters and pipes, and a dynamic based on an event driven scheduler, as opposed to a fixed time one. In the runtime scenario, the scheduler reads the pipe configurations from the metadata repository, and then executes on the fly the planned filters, transforming data into business information.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. The omnipresence and easiness of the Web focuses the research on Web GIS. Web GIS is classified into a server-side Web GIS and client-side Web GIS. The former can easily be implemented but raises the overload of the server, the latter lessens the overload of the server, but raises some problems. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a Jigsaw query processing technique that processes user queries dynamically. For an evaluation, the detailed experiments such as map browsing, layer control, point query and region query are conducted comparing the proposed technique with the two other methods. Based on the results of experiments, the proposed technique can give the user a fast response and increase system performance.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. The nearest neighbor rule algorithm was used for labeling the elements, and the Run Length Smoothing Algorithm (RLSA) was used to segment the image of a commercial document of the type letter, official letter or memo. The most common classes considered are: date, logotype, text body, signature, addressee, invocation and greeting. The labeling of the elements is accomplished using the nearest neighbor rule algorithm with a vector comprising 28 characteristics. The accomplished study presented a good result for the classification of elements on commercial documents. It was created and used a base composed of 283 images of commercial documents in 256 gray levels for document element classification.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. Two features that describe the image structural content, edge point locations and edge density, are computed directly from multiscale data. Depending on the image type and the feature selections for processing, the distance between two images is computed in one- or two-dimensional space. This method facilitates content-based image querying and automatic database retrieval. In addition, images can be sorted and appropriately indexed with respect to such global characteristics as smoothness, texture direction and repetition period.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. IPrC is a technique for improving application response time by exploiting I/O and computation parallelism. This proactive mechanism utilizes hints (application disclosed file access patterns) in order to pre-fetch the needed data blocks ahead of time and place them in the page cache. While well-studied in experimental systems IPrC technology has not been transferred to commercial or widely-used operating systems. We believe that our work is unique in that respect. We show that an implementation of the IPrC system in Linux is not only feasible but also extremely beneficial, especially for applications with non-sequential file access patterns. Our IPrC system is implemented by replacing the traditional read-ahead mechanism in the Linux kernel. The experiments conducted on a 60 MHz Intel PC show execution time reduction of 15-39% for various testing scenarios.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. The need for watermarking arises out of the unsuitability of present copyright laws for claiming ownership of digital content. Watermarking schemes however, are threatened by counterfeit attacks, which primarily use the freedom available in the choice of signature or choice of the watermarking method. A restrictive protocol for watermarking could go a long way in rendering counterfeit attacks extremely difficult. We suggest a comprehensive protocol that makes it possible for the true owner to claim ownership unambiguously, while making it extremely difficult for a pirate to do so.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. As a digital watermarking, we proposed a method using inter-block correlation of DCT coefficients. It has the features that the embedded watermark can be extracted without the original image nor the parameters used in embedding process and that the amount of modification, the strength of embedded watermark, depends on the local feature of an image. This feature makes it difficult for pirate to predict the position in which the watermark signal is embedded. We propose a method which can embed/extract watermark with high speed by utilizing this watermarking method for JPEG file format.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. Different methods for IS design have been proposed. Some put the emphasis on statical aspects, and others on dynamical aspects. A third category of methods has recently appeared, which try to take into account both aspects, and therefore provide an unified view of data and treatments. There also exist approaches that put the stress on rigour in the specification and validation process. This paper presents a CASE tool which gives conceptual help for IS design. On one hand, it handles the statical and dynamical aspects while providing the user with products that are readable and easy to understood and, on the other hand, it validates the specification obtained in a rigourous way. It is an attempt to satisfy both the designer and the user.","PeriodicalId":146581,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat.
