HIV weakens the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to TB infection and reactivationof latent TB. Conversely, active TB accelerates the progression of HIV to AIDS by further compromising immunefunction, increasing viral replication, and promoting viral mutation. This interaction not only worsens clinical outcomesbut also increases mortality rates among people living with HIV (PLWH). The mutual enhancement of these pathogensmeans that HIV infection increases the likelihood of TB infection and reactivation due to the compromised immunesystem. TB infection, in turn, accelerates the deterioration of immune function in PLWH, leading to faster progressionto AIDS. Active TB is a leading cause of death among PLWH. In 2019, approximately 33% of the 690,000 AIDS-related deaths were attributable to HIV-associated TB.

This dynamic not only strengthens familial ties but also supports employed parents.\u0000\u0000Methods: Thishousehold study aimed to assess the psychological well-being (PSW) of 171 urban grandparents, selected purposively, through face-to-face interviews using a semi-structured questionnaire conducted from January to December 2018in Uttara, Dhaka.\u0000\u0000Results: The mean age of the grandparents was 57.9 years, and more than half of them (53.8%)were under 60 years old. A significant number of grandparents experienced severe stress (70.8%), along with mildanxiety (69.6%) and depression (61.4%). In contrast, only a small portion of grandparents (5.3%) reported feelingsof loneliness within their family. Individuals under the age of 60 exhibited higher mean scores for stress, loneliness, anxiety, and depression in comparison to those aged 60 and above. There was also a positive correlation observedbetween the total scores of loneliness, anxiety, and depression with the total scores of stress (p<0.05).\u0000\u0000Conclusion: The majority of grandparents experienced high levels of stress, and some were suffered from loneliness, anxiety anddepression. NHDS was a cross-sectional survey, under the framework of the integrated multipurpose Sample(IMS) design, conducted among Bangladeshi people of all ages including ethnic minorities living in three districts(e.g., Rangamati, Khagrachori, and Bandarban) of CHTs. ‘WHO (2006) child growth standard’ was used to assessU5 nutritional status, 24-hour dietary recall for ‘Nutrient intake’ assessment, and all data were analyzed employingstatistical software packages.\u0000\u0000Results: Most of the fathers/mothers were in the 26-35 age groups while respectively56.1% and 34.1% fathers and mothers had formal education. Majority (47.4%) of the fathers were farmers, andmothers (69.8%) were house makers with a mean income of 9956.7±459.0 and 2612.8±149.1 BDT, respectively. The overall prevalence of stunting, wasting, and underweight were respectively 28.5%, 20.3%, and 24.6%, with nogender differences (P>0.05). Nutrient analysis indicates the majority of U5 children’s (especially 1-3 years) diet weredeficient in calcium and vitamin A, who met 58.0% of recommended dietary allowances (RDA) for both nutrients. However, RDA fulfillment of protein, iron, and vitamin C were much higher than the recommended level. Multiplelogistic regression outlined that the father’s illiteracy (aOR=4.9), and income ≤7000 BDT (aOR=3.4), <4 dietarydiversity score/DDS (aOR=4.1), <1650 Kcal intake/day (aOR=2.9), and calcium intake ≤250 mg/day (aOR=2.6) weresignificantly associated with the prevalence of stunting.\u0000\u0000Conclusion: Higher prevalence of chronic malnutrition wasobserved among U5-children living in CHTs, Bangladesh.
