The optimal development angle of the arc-shaped deflector has been determined. The obtained results are compared with those of numerical and physical studies published in various reputable journals. Relevant fields of application are discussed. The guiding device is composed of cylindrical guide vanes and deflector. The design is derived from two different guiding devices: cylindrical guiding apparatus and so-called omni-directional guiding apparatus, which consists of plates evenly placed around the turbine’s runner. The experiments were carried out on the laboratory test bench No. 7 (wind turbines) in the Laboratory of Hydropower and Hydraulic Turbomachinery at the Technical University of Sofia. According to the obtained data, the new guiding device increases the efficiency of the turbine up to 2.5 times. Integrated management of oil palm plantations is a key factor in increasing productivity. Analysis of land morphology in oil palm plantations is a crucial first step. The objectives of this study were (1) to characterize land morphology with LiDAR implementation, (2) to explain the LiDAR mechanism in the NDVI class classification used for determining the oil palm Vegetation Index, and (3) to provide ideas to optimize oil palm productivity. The study was conducted using the image interpretation method from the acquisition of LiDAR data which has a resolution of 3 x 3 cm in the form of DEM and orthophoto to be able to perform land surface morphology analysis (MPL) and NDVI flatfoot. The data needed in this study is Orthophoto, which is used to crosscheck field conditions, plant canopy conditions, and populations of plants per block. NDVI processing is used to determine the Vegetation Index to interpret the health of oil palm plants. The results showed that LiDAR technology can be used to determine the health of oil palm plants. The overall accuracy and reliability value of NDVI reached 88.33% and 88.13%, respectively. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermogravimetric analysis (DTG) were used for this study. Five different types of pellets were analyzed at heating rates of 5°C/min and 10°C/min up to a temperature of 750°C. The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the thermal properties of pellets and their behavior under different temperature conditions. This analytical approach not only provides important information for improving the quality and efficiency of pellets but also can be beneficial for optimizing their production processes. However, the potential of S. album faces significant challenges due to unsustainable management practices within its natural population. Genetic techniques present a viable solution to mitigating S. album sustainability challenges, offering insights crucial for its conservation and long-term management. Hence, there is a recognised necessity to furnish chloroplast genome information for S. album, thereby augmenting the existing genetic database and facilitating the formulation of effective conservation strategies for the sustainability of this species. This research aims to obtain the long-read sequence data using MinION from Oxford Nanopore Technologies for generating the S. album chloroplast genome, and to analyse genetic relationships of S. album with other species through a phylogenetic tree. The study successfully generated a completed chloroplast genome of S. album, consisting of 143.261 base pairs, which has the potential to be used in various applications of genetic analysis. Over the years, the expansion of land and the production of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of palm oil has consistently increased, accompanied by a rise in land area and crude palm oil (CPO) production. The pivotal role of Indonesia as the world’s largest palm oil producer must be highlighted through sustainability studies, especially in environmental aspects. Life cycle assessment is a technique utilized to evaluate the environmental implications of products, processes, and services, spanning their complete life cycle from the extraction of raw materials to waste management. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) encompasses various environmental impact categories, providing a comprehensive understanding of the ecological contribution of a product or service. This research assesses the environmental impact of oil palm plantation activities in Riau province, Indonesia. The research’s boundary is set to a cradle-to-gate analysis within the oil palm plantation subsystem. The Life Cycle Assessment was conducted utilizing the SimaPro 9.5.0.0 software employing the ReCiPe 2016 method. The total emissions generated during the production process of 5 tons of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) amount to 1634.22 kg CO2 eq/5 tons of FFB. The major contributors to emissions are the production and use of inorganic fertilizers. Specifically, the types of fertilizers responsible for the high greenhouse gas emissions are KCl, followed by phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers. Besides the potential for global warming, human carcinogenic toxicity is another potential impact, primarily from fertilization. The findings in this study can serve as scientific evidence in formulating solutions for sustainable oil palm plantations, particularly in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. An environmentally conscious approach to lowering emissions requires meticulous scrutiny and implementation of precision farming. Based on biodiversity indicators, this study aims to identify and examine research trends related to palm oil plantations’ ecological roles or ecosystem functions. We obtained a total of 959 articles from the Web of Science. The utilization of systematic literature review methodology and bibliometric analysis allows for addressing the research inquiries’ focal points. Research trends on palm oil biodiversity and ecosystem function from 2010 to 2023 correlate with palm production. Quadrant 3 in bibliometric maps draws attention to rarely discussed yet impactful topics, such as the effects of deforestation and ecosystem services, which in turn prompts further research. This paper investigates the current status and future potential of RES deployment across eleven countries in the region: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia. In this comprehensive analysis, we begin by providing an overview of the installed capacity of RES in these countries for the year 2021, drawing upon data from reputable sources such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and national energy agencies. Building upon this foundation, we delve into an in-depth examination of the wind and solar energy potential in the region, utilizing geographic information system (GIS) data and modelling techniques to assess resource availability and feasibility. Furthermore, we explore two distinct scenarios for maximizing solar energy deployment in the Balkans. Firstly, we analyse the implications of covering the entire territory of each country with solar panels, estimating the potential electricity production and its relation to current consumption levels. Secondly, we use a more pragmatic approach, focusing on the strategic deployment of solar panels in areas with the highest energy generation potential, while considering land use constraints and environmental considerations. In addition to evaluating the technical and economic aspects of RES deployment, we also quantify the environmental benefits in terms of carbon emissions reduction. By comparing emissions from renewable sources with those from conventional fossil fuel-based electricity generation, we highlight the significant contribution of RES to mitigating climate change and achieving sustainability goals. In conclusion, this paper underscores the immense potential of renewable energy in the Balkans and emphasizes the importance of strategic planning and policy interventions to unlock this potential. Currently, seven genera are used for their probiotic’s potential. Strains having the desired characteristics are associated with plenty of health benefits. Recent literature shows that different plant and vegetable oils are associated with probiotics. Other reports indicated their various aspects. For instance, the effect of probiotics on plant-based oil, edible oil, probiotics, the use of oils for probiotics encapsulation, etc., are documented. It is also reported that probiotics from vegetable sources and plant oil have some advancements, such as vegetarian and lactose-intolerant people using them. The multidimensional association between probiotics and vegetable oils attracts researchers to explore it. This research area is growing fast, but more limited research data is needed. Hence, this literature study was performed to identify the relationship, pros, and cons and provide recent insight into the literature for the researchers. Materials were collected by searching the related terminologies on different websites, finding the downloaded literature, and analyzing it critically. The results were presented as described by the authors, and a correlation was found that helps to enhance the field.
