However, weaving these precious resources sustainable into agile knowledge transfer and learning is not lighted very well so far. The focus of this contribution lies on utilizing available, distributed data sets on the web for vast interactive knowledge transfer and learning. Social educational gaming is instanced to simplify interoperation, to spread knowledge in a handy way and to enhance users’ collaboration with Open Content. Learning aims deal with broaden the users’ perspective on available information and resources. Especially fact-related knowledge is assessable in an effective manner this way. Attendance increases through game-based, incentive arrangements like point and level concepts. Confrontation with daily knowledge topics can be immerged through knowledge games for a broad audience. Long-term objective is to establish Open Content in educational contexts as knowledge base - by enabling a proposal of suitable web service compositions and a modular construction kit for user-centered interfaces with high functionality and design issues. Overall, we boost Open Content as an inherent part of higher-layered, lightweight applications in knowledge and information transfer via standard tasks of knowledge engineering and augmented user interaction. Knowledge management concerns interweave with social gaming and collaboration.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116827096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is to propose models and tools for representing, transforming, sharing and visualizing traces of users' experiences. The traces here represent the users' activities in their interactions with the learning platform. Our proposition is based on reflexive learning defined as the ability to interact with the situation, in order to meet one's own limitations. This work takes place in the ITHACA project which aims at developing an on-line learning platform that uses interaction traces as knowledge sources on, and for, the learners' learning as individuals or groups. In this paper, we propose a general framework for trace management and sharing, a generic model of synchronous collaborative activity based on the notion of interaction modes, which we specialized for whiteboard sharing and text chatting. We modelled an IRC client and developed a first implementation.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131855287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since mobile objects move randomly and communicate each other wirelessly only on close ranges, it is possible to happen frequent disconnection all over the place on the network. The basic properties of information communications in these poor networking systems are not well understood. For example, ZebraNet is known as a habitat monitoring system that collects biological information of zebras wandering on a broad savanna with wireless sensors. As time passes, sensors collect the information,but here we have a simple question \"How much time should we wait until the information is gathered enough ?\" To answer the question theoretically, we introduced a mathematical model that N sensors randomly move in a d-dimensional square lattice bounded by system size L. The sensors share information epidemically when they are at the same position, which expresses sensors' irregular motions and close-range communications. Using this model, we numerically investigated the properties of probability distribution functions of information gathering times on the basis of some known theoretical results from the first passage process. We found that the distribution function of information gathering times generally obeys a exponential distribution at the tail with the relaxation time tau depending on d, L, and N. Furthermore, we also found the non-trivial scaling relations of tau with L and N, which finally gives the answer to the question about the latency of information gatherings with using mobile sensors.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132249551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective is to analyze how and why the students who start studying at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) use the wiki as a tool in order to develop a virtual project in small groups (3-5 members). Starting from a qualitative point of view, we analyzed a pilot test where wiki was introduced for collaborative work in the Digital Literacy subject. Two different student profiles were involved in this study: students from Computer Engineering and Psychology. The outcomes show that there are several factors that affect how students use the wiki. At the same time, the most important aspects of the wiki to construct a virtual project are analyzed.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116405177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Invisible devices and software are connected to one another to provide convenient services to users. In this environment, users want to get a variety of services by using only an individual mobile device which has limitations such as tiny display screens, limited input, and less powerful processors. In other words, users hope to obtain a personalized service composed of user-suitable devices among sharable devices in a ubiquitous smart space which is called USS in this paper. However, the situations of each user are different and user preferences also are various. Therefore, although users request the same service in the same USS, the most suitable devices for composing the service are different for all users. For satisfying these user requirements, this paper proposes a device recommender system which infers and recommends user-suitable devices for composing a user required service. The objective of this paper is the development of the systems for recommending devices through context-aware inference in peer-to-peer environments. For this goal, this paper considers the environmental context and user preference Also we implement a prototype system and test performance on real ubiquitous mobile object (UMO).","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123861052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes an animated diagram as a media to satisfy both of them. An animated diagram is a record of drawings associates source codes and figures. It enables novice students to review the process of individual supervision of experienced programmers drawing diagrams. The record is also available for analysis of faults in teaching methods and materials. The Supervision Sheet is developed as a software tool to realize animated diagrams. Animated diagrams has been used for individual supervision in an actual exercise classes. Novice students who refer animated diagrams have overcome difficulties to make correct source codes 8 cases out of 13. Teachers can presume supervised contents 21 out of 23 cases, which implies high possibilities to mine faults in teaching methods.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115628900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In ZigBee, sensor nodes can be connected by a tree topology called Distributed Address Assignment Mechanism (DAAM). It has the merits as follows: 1) it is easy to implement; 2) it simplifies the task of routing. It restricts the number of children and the depth of the network by setting a topological parameter set, which is defined as a topological policy in this paper. While there are many different kinds of geographical distributions, DAAM can have only one topological policy. If the policy in DAAM is unsuitable for the geographical deployment, the utilization of the address pool is very low. Thus, in spite that there is a large address space, some devices cannot join the sensor networks. To overcome the problem, this paper proposes Enhanced Distributed Address Assignment Scheme (EDAAS) based on DAAM; it can separate the node distribution into several simpler elements which can have their own topological policies. The evaluation shows that it can manage address space with more flexibility by using an additional storage.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"60 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114125626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A problem arises for the handling of new users, when information about existing users is already available. In the work presented in this paper, we were following two approaches to derive information about new users, both based on prototype generation for existing user’s answer pattern to a QoS related questionnaire. In the first approach, it was tried to classify user attributes to a fitting prototype. In the second approach, a mapping from partial answers to a prototype was used. As result, the first approach appeared to be infeasible, while the second one gave good results. In the resulting trade-off between the number of clusters and classification accuracy, this way it is possible, for example, with 8 prototypes for around 1000 users to issue a new user answer patterns by using only 30% of the questions, while reducing accuracy by only 13%.","PeriodicalId":145328,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121872708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
