A data-aided carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation algorithm is proposed. A well-designed training sequence provides the algorithm immunity to the effect of multipath channel, so that the algorithm can be applied without any channel knowledge. A smart iterative procedure is designed for the algorithm to achieve good estimation accuracy. Moreover in depth performance analysis for the algorithm is presented. An upper bound on the probability of unacceptable estimation error (UEE) and a lower bound on mean square error (MSE) are derived, which evaluate the algorithm performance from different points of view. Finally, the proposed algorithm and the performance analysis results are verified by simulation results.","PeriodicalId":145041,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123497061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a distributed cooperation policy selection scheme for interference minimization is proposed to perform subcarrier assignment for uplink multi-cell OFDMA systems by adopting a new solution concept, the correlated equilibrium, which achieves better performance by allowing each user to consider the joint distribution of the users' actions. The proposed algorithm exhibits low complexity and converges to a set of correlated equilibria with probability one. In this paper, we present a method to improve the transmitting rate with the unchanged reliability for ghost-imaging system based on entanglement. In the scheme, we first encode the image by Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) algorithm before transmitting an image, and then encode the JPEG bits stream using linear block codes to overcome the lossy information by compression. The transmitting rate can be enhanced by compression, and the reliability can be kept by linear block codes. By experiments, the results show that when the compression ratio of JPEG is beyond the coding efficiency of linear block codes, we can get some gains of the image with Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR) increase. Compared with direct transmission bit stream, our scheme can improve the PSNR 16dB, using 1.225 times of the transmission times.","PeriodicalId":145041,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131306204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the sum rate maximization problem under a total power constraint, the existing beamformer designs in the literature are based on the QR decomposition (QRD), which is used to satisfy the ZF constraints. However, the optimality of the QRD-based design has been unknown previously. In this paper, we prove that the QRD-based design is optimal for ZF-DPC for any performance measure under a sum power constraint. For the per-antenna power constraints, the QRD-based designs become suboptimal, and we propose an optimal design, using a convex optimization framework. Low-complexity suboptimal designs are also presented, and numerically shown to achieve a significant fraction of the sum rate provided by the optimal design.","PeriodicalId":145041,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126491838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As one of the promising technologies targeting to the goal, coordinated multipoint transmission/reception (CoMP) is a major topic being discussed recently. CoMP technique significantly mitigates the co-channel interference and thus increases the cell-edge user throughput. In this paper, we propose a novel transmission scheme named wideband dynamic base station selection to further improve the performance of CoMP system. We compare the proposed scheme with the existing joint transmission (CoMP-JT) and coordinated beam-forming (CoMP-CBF) transmission schemes. They are the practical wireless technologies for domestic and business wireless users currently. However, base station (BS)/access point (AP) may fail in disasters. This failure problem may cause part of users not able to communicate. To solve this problem, one proposed solution is to let users in failure caused coverage hole self-organize to communicate to each other or to functional BS/AP. Delay Tolerate Networking (DTN) is one of such user self-organization technologies. This paper designs and evaluates geographic binary spray and wait routing algorithm (G-BSW) in DTN to let users find routes to close BSs/APs. Meanwhile, BS/AP load balance can be guaranteed. G-BSW is a cooperative algorithm. It controls BSs/APs to broadcast metadata to users to let them find appropriate BS/AP. The metadata contains geographic and related routing information. Through simulation in an open source DTN simulator (ONE simulator), G-BSW is validated to improve message delivery rate, and BS/AP load balance.","PeriodicalId":145041,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130468694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the SU, channel state information (CSI) is used to regulate the SU transmit power to limit the interference. In this respect, we assume only partial CSI is available to the SU, and investigate the SU ergodic capacity under the PU outage loss constraint as well as the peak/average transmit power constraint in Rayleigh fading channels. In particular, we derive the optimal power allocation to achieve the SU ergodic capacity, and further obtain closed-form expressions for the ergodic capacity.
