The methodology is designed to represent human decision-making processes in graphical representations, which can be simply translated for the implementation phase to simulate various case studies. The methodology utilizes the Belief, Desire, and Intention architecture and the OCEAN Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism) personality behavior to represent decision-making processes graphically, making it easy to translate into a simulation. The methodology aims to create a more realistic simulation closer to real human behavior by incorporating emotions that affect decision-making. In this paper, we validate the emotion-based BDI methodology by replicating the bushfire Australia case study and benchmarking with the previous work on BDI fire evacuation. From the comparison, we found that both results share almost similar patterns. The results show 'dead while still unaware' (0% vs. 0%), 'dead while deciding what to do' (69% vs. 48%), 'dead while defending' (6% vs. 8%), and 'dead while preparing to defend' (6% vs 28%), 'dead while preparing to escape' (4% vs 0%) and 'dead while escaping' (15% vs 20%). The results show that in our Simulation, there is a death related to preparing to escape (4% vs 0%). However, the other causes of death have an almost similar percentage of death causes. Hence, based on the comparison, supporting and validating our emotion-oriented simulation model is considered adequate. Therefore, this emotion-based BDI methodology can systematically reproduce human cognition and emotion.","PeriodicalId":14471,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology","volume":"60 17","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135808161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to identify the effect of natural disasters on local society's income. The research was conducted using the survey method. Samples were collected (300 respondents) from 3 Nagari in Maninjau Resort, especially Nagari Sungai Batang (location of the Buya Hamka Museum), Maninjau, dan Bayua. The parameters identified were the income of local society and the type of economic activity they want to develop. The collected data was classified into categories, then the percentage was calculated, and finally presented in a pie chart. Based on data, it was found that natural disasters, especially landslides and fish deaths in the lake, significantly decreased the local society income. Most (81.7%) of society decreased their income by 40%. The income reduction was not only due to the property loss but also associated with the decrease in tourist visits. To recover the economic growth in Maninjau, most of the community (87.7%) wanted tourist visits increased. Then, they also wanted to develop culinary business (41.5%), agroforestry (29.9%), and religious tourism (26%), especially Hamka Tourism in Sungai Batang. An alternative way to recover quickly and to increase local society's income can be done through online promotion. Website development of each industry in Maninjau is really suggested.","PeriodicalId":14471,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology","volume":"292 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135808310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The compression technique can reduce a file, image, and data size but does not reduce the existing image's quality or lower the threshold during the sending or receiving. This research aims to reduce the size, speed up the process of accessing data on devices, and, more importantly, minimize memory space. It can also affect the bandwidth used when sending and receiving files and can speed up the process of sending from source to destination. The method used in this study is Lossy Compression, lose less Compression by comparing RLE, Huffman, and LZW using different image file types. For the Lossless Technique, the best quality reduction ratio is in binary image types, whether using a background or not using a background. The best results obtained are 99.10% (PNG Compression). Using the BMP file extension type, the recommended reduced ratio is lossy compression with format image BMP (JPG compression) for binary image using Lossless Compression has a good reduced ratio compression with an average of 99%.","PeriodicalId":14471,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology","volume":"292 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135808311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a notable development in 2022, South Korea took a pioneering step by overhauling its curriculum with a primary focus on enhancing students' AI skills. However, despite these efforts, a persistent challenge remains: many students continue to harbor unfavorable perceptions and attitudes toward AI. The existing educational methods have proven insufficient in addressing this issue. Consequently, this study embarked on a quest to identify effective strategies for cultivating a more positive outlook on AI among middle school students. To tackle this challenge head-on, an experiential learning-based AI education program was meticulously designed and implemented for middle school students in Korea. The study rigorously evaluated the program's impact on students' attitudes toward AI. The results unveiled a significant improvement in students' perceptions of AI following the intervention, providing solid empirical evidence of the efficacy of the experiential learning-based AI education program in reshaping middle school students' attitudes toward AI. This research underscores the paramount importance of practical, hands-on experiences in education as a potent means to bridge the gap between knowledge and perception. It offers invaluable insights that can guide the development of AI education curricula worldwide, emphasizing the indispensable role of experiential learning approaches in nurturing positive attitudes and beliefs about AI among students.","PeriodicalId":14471,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology","volume":"291 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135808314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
