This study's goal is to find and assess previous work in the area of user mental models and how it relates to the sustainability of application. Thus, a systematic review process was used to identify 641 initial articles, which were then screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. According to the review, it has been observed that the mental model of a user has an impact on the creation of applications not only within the domain of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), but also in other domains such as Enterprise Innovation Ecology, Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Information Systems (IS), and various others. The examined articles discussed company managers' difficulties in prioritising innovation and ecology, and the necessity to understand users' mental models to build and evaluate intelligent systems. The reviewed articles mostly used experimental, questionnaire, observation, and interviews, by applying either qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method methodologies. This study highlights the importance of user mental models in application sustainability, where developers may create apps that suit user demands, fit with cognitive psychology principles, and improve human-AI collaboration by understanding user mental models. This study also emphasises the importance of user mental models in the long-term viability and sustainability of applications, and provides significant insights for application developers and researchers in building more user-centric and sustainable applications.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136240540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Carbon fiber reinforced composite materials (CFRP) have a wide range of applications in the field of engineering reinforcement. This article establishes a constitutive model, constructs a calculation model for ultimate bearing capacity, and derives formulas for the axial compressive strength and ultimate compressive bearing capacity of confined concrete. By comparing the calculated bearing capacity with the design value, the feasibility of the formula is verified, indicating that the strip CFRP circular steel tube lithium slag concrete column is in a safe state, indicating that the prediction model has good applicability.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80093912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been confirmed by experiments that in terms of mechanical properties, high-performance composite materials have shown significant advantages compared with traditional materials. For example, the strength of high-performance composite materials can reach 120MPa, while that of traditional materials is only 80MPa; in terms of stiffness, the performance of composite materials is 60GPa, while that of traditional materials is 40GPa. At the same time, the high-performance composite material has the characteristics of light weight, and its mass is only 500kg, which is much smaller than the 800kg of traditional materials. It shows that the application of high-performance composite materials should be fully considered when optimizing the structural design of civil engineering, so as to improve the strength, stability and sustainability of the structure. In view of the wide application prospects of high-performance composite materials, ensuring their reasonable application in civil engineering will promote the development of the industry and improve the quality and efficiency of projects.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78147081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experiments were performed to obtain a minimum 28 days compressive strength of 15 MPa modified foamed concretes by using palm oil fuel ash (POFA) and fly ash (FA) as partial cement replacement and unprocessed rush husk ash (RHA) as partial fine aggregate replacement. Carbon footprint analysis was carried out by determining the CO2emission for each constituent materials in the modified foamed concrete mixes. Although incorporation of POFA in the foamed concrete containingRHA fine aggregate gained lower mechanical strengths compared to the use of FA, the minimum compressive strength is still can be attained. In terms of the sustainability, modified foamed concrete with 30% POFA or 30% FA was found an encouraging reduction of carbon foot print up to about 30% compared to the control foamed concrete. Based on eco-strength indicator, the optimum foamed concrete mix with POFA was found to be at 22.5% cement replacement level. The eco-modified foamed concrete has good potential in civil engineering construction and environmentally friendly.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"137 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86475175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system improves the process of collecting and sending orders from customers in a short period of time. This study aims to determine the level of consumer acceptance or satisfaction with food delivery services using the e-Hailing system. The objective of this study is to identify the factors that influence the community to use e-Hailing food delivery services and to determine the most dominant factor in e-Hailing servicesaccording to Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The location of the study is in the urban area and also semi-urban in the districts of Johor. A self-administrated online questionnaire was distributed among 258 respondents in the study area. Part of the questionnaire was constructed based on the TAM. Correlation and regression analysis were used in the analysis of this study. The results of this study show that the relationship between variables TAM (β = 0.443), perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness are strongly correlated based on significant values (p < 0.001) showed the independent variable (Intention to Use) influenced the acceptance of user behaviour towards e-Hailing. Among the suggestions to increase consumers of food delivery services amonge-Hailing users is to reduce delivery charges for nearby areas so that consumers can buy food at various stores. This can help other vendors and riders in this e-Hailing food delivery service.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75863907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It becomes even more difficult when the region aroundconstruction projectsisdefinedas a “red zone”. This situation affectsthe performance of construction projects,which is related to project delays, increase in construction costs, waste of construction materials, labourerswho havenot receivedany salary, lack of labour,and etc. This paper attemptsto investigate the relationship between MCOimpact factors and the performance of construction projects in Malaysia.The quantitative technique was applied in this study. The contractors registered under the Construction Development Board (CIDB) in the state of Selangor werechosen as therespondents. In total, 100 respondents participated and gave full support for this study. This relationship was investigated using a correlation analysistechnique.The highest impact is the construction cost. The construction costsincreased due to the increase in the prices of construction materials and machinery, lack of labours, and additional expenses for COVID-19 precautions. The findingsfound that the larger the negative impact of MCO’s actions during the COVID-19outbreak on time, cost, and resources, the worse the performance of Malaysian projects will be in general.These factors should be consideredby the government before a decision is made. For future research, it is suggested to look at how the regulation can assist the construction stakeholdersto ensure the MCO does not have abig impact onthe construction projects.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81419183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, this article offers research based on data from different Malaysian government organisations andanalysing the changes in the pattern of Road Traffic Crashes (RTC) in Perak,Malaysia. From 2011 to 2018, data was analysed based on road traffic collisions and categories of casualties concerning gender, age, types of roads and vehicles, and road users. The mortality and injury rates per 100,000 people were used to calculate performance for road safety. It was found that with a 0.59% increase in Perak's population and an increase in the number of cars, there are30,669 total crashes and 491 road deaths in 2020. Furthermore, this study discovered that motorcycles were the most common vehicle involved in road traffic deaths from 2011 to 2018, which should raise concerns sincemotorbikes have become an essential mode of transportation. In Perak, most road deaths were males between the ages of 16 and 20. Finally, this study discovered that the death and injury rates per 100,000 people in Perak are 19.56 and 75.82, respectively, indicating that the fatality rate is dropping, but the injury rate increased dramatically in 2020 compared to 2019. The Perak state administration must investigate why the situation has worsen aftera decade. Somehow or rather, the state must address this issue, and it is advised that further research be conducted to identify mechanisms to enhance the current scenario to lower the number of RTCs, notably deaths, in the state.","PeriodicalId":14418,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Construction Engineering and Technology","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87753795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
