Areca catechu L. has natural fiber that intensely studied in the last years due to their specific properties and their positive environmental impact. This paper exhibits an outline on natural fibers of Areca catechu spathe and husk fiber which is an agricultural waste as a part of different commercial and engineering applications. The researchers have reported that Areca catechu spathe and husk fiber consists of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. It provide a potential use of natural fibers for make art paper. Putri, Kartika Manalu, Rahmadina Rahmadina","doi":"10.30821/KFL:JIBT.V4I2.8894","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30821/KFL:JIBT.V4I2.8894","url":null,"abstract":"The study aims to know the worthiness of liquid organic fertilizer derived from carrot waste, knowing the effect that liquid organic fertilizer derived from carrot waste has on the growth and output of the pepper plant (Capsicum annum L.) and to find out how much organic fertilizer sewage does to the growth and output of the pepper plant (Capsicum annum L.). the methods used in this study are full random design (RAL) in this study using 5 treatment and 5 times Deuteronomy with 0% treatment as control treatment B 5%, treatment C 10%, treatment D 15%, and treatment E 20%. The parameters used were the height of the plant, the number of leaves, the number of branches, the number of flowers and the number of fruits. Data results from the analysis using statistical product and service solutions (SPSS) version 23. Results showed content found in the organic fertilizer of carrot waste C-organic (0.86%), Nitrogen (1.14%), Phospor (0.01%), potassium (0.18%), and c/n ratio (0.76%). If it exceeds a certain limit, both of these bacteria can become pathogens. The purpose of this study is to find out Virgin Coconut Oil from various brands can inhibit the growth of <em>Staphylococcus aureus</em> and <em>Enterococcus faecalis</em>.</span></p><p class=\"abstrak\"><span>Antibacterial power test is done by the diffusion method to use the cylinder cup, and antibacterial power measured by the diameter of the urea inhibiting microbial growth by using a caliper. This study aims to determine the types and morphology of the Ericaceae family in the Sicikeh-cikeh Lake Nature Tourism Park Lae Hole Village Parbuluan District Dairi Regency Sumatera Utara. This research were conducted in October - January 2020 using the exploration methods, namely by exploring along the path of the research location. The results of studies that have been carried out found 7 types of family Ericaceae, such as 4 of the genus Rhododendron, 1 of the genus Vaccinium, 1 of the genus Diplycosia, and 1 of the genus Cavendishia. The types of the Ericaceae family were found in this study had the same morphology, which has a taproot. The shape of the stem was round, and the direction grows perpendicular (erectus). The leaves are single leaves. Flowers including majmuk flowers, (terminal), and has flower parts, namely the crown of flowers, stamens and pistil. Karya Kasih, Gang. Sawah  No. 1. Kelurahan. Pangkalan  Masyhur, Medan Johor Subdistrict, Medan. with an altitude of ± 30 m above sea level. The research was conducted from December 2020 to February 2021.               The materials used in this study were water spinach seeds, compost and top soil soil, 10 kg polybag of soil and organic pesticides for pest and disease control.               Tools: moisture meter, hands prayer, hoe, machete, saw, title board, plot board and treatment board.               This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 3 replications and 2 factors, namely: Factor I. planting medium consisting of two levels, namely: (1) M0 = 100% top soil (100% soil: 0% compost): (2) ) M1 = Compost soil ratio 3: 1 (75% soil: 25% compost) and (3) M2 = Compost soil ratio 1: 1 (50% soil: 50% compost). while, Factor II. Method of Giving Water  (I) which consists of three levels, namely: (1) Po = Field Capacity by giving water once a day; (2) P1 = 3/4 Field Capacity by giving water once a day and (3) P2 = ½ Field Capacity by giving water once a day. This study was aimed to determine the types of characteristic of parasitic plants in the natural tourist park of Lake Sicikeh-cikeh which was conducted in Oktober-December 2019 by using exploration method or roaming method and by utilizing qualitative descriptive as data collection techniques. The research result showed that were 7 species of parasitic plants were included become 5 families. those were 2 species of <em>Balanophoraceae </em>family<em>, </em>named<em> </em>(<em>Balanophora papuana </em>Schltr<em>.</em> and <em>Rhopalocnemis palloides </em>Jungh<em>.</em>), 2 species of <em>Loranthaceae</em> family, named (<em>Macrosolen avenis </em>Danser<em> </em>and<em> Scurrula </em>sp). 1 species of <em>Santalaceae</em> family, named (<em>Dendromyza reinwardtiana</em> (Blume ex Korth.) Danser), 1 species of <em>Rafflesia</em> family, named (<em>Rafflesia meijeri</em> Wiriad. & Sari), and 1 species of <em>Orchidaceae</em> family, named (<em>Gastrodia </em>sp.). Based on the characteristics of the hosts, <em>Loranthaceae</em> and <em>Santalaceae</em> family were parasite on tree, <em>Balanophoraceae</em> and <em>Rafflesiaceae</em> were parasite on roots and <em>Orchidaceae</em> family with <em>Gastrodia </em>sp. Its members include a variety of worms known as gilig worms: animals with long cylindrical bodies, even so long that the name 'Nemathelminthes' appears. Which means \"threadworm\" (from Greek). His body is not sprouting. in this phylum, there are two classes, nematodes and nematomorphs. Nematodes have been found in the muscles outside the cells and not epithelial cells. There are no cilia here. An independent living nematode has a compound mouth and several tools and tastes and eyes. Gilig worms that live parasites, their body structure is simpler. The digestive tract is more complete and precisely divided into regions such as the mouth, oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, small intestine, rectum, and body structure. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the juice of fragrant lemongrass leaves has antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans bacteria that cause dental caries. The research method used is experimental with agar diffusion. The experiment consisted of four treatments namely at concentrations of 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% with three repetitions. The results showed fragrant lemongrass leaves at concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% had an average inhibition zone diameter of 14,2 mm, 15,1 mm, 16,2 mm dan 17,3 mm. Is a multipurpose horticultural plant that is very useful as a commodity for various human needs. This study aims to determine the benefits of applying liquid organic fertilizer to carrot waste which can increase the productivity of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.). This research was conducted from April to August 2019. This research was conducted in the screen house of the johor housing complex, Medan City, North Sumatra. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) using a solution concentration of A = 0% as a treatment control, B = 5%, treatment C = 10%, treatment D = 15%, and treatment E = 20%. The type of data in this research is quantitative data. Data analysis used the one way ANOVA analysis of variance test with 5% accuracy, and continued with Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT).
