However, idea methods to compare different landscape patterns are still lacking. The overall aim of this study is to develop a new form of spatial entropy (Hs) to distinguish different landscape patterns. Hsis an entropy-related index based on information theory, and integrates proximity as a key spatial component into the measurement of spatial diversity. Proximity contains two aspects, i.e. total edge length and distance, and by including both aspects gives richer information about spatial pattern than metrics that only consider one aspect. From this point of view, Hsprovides a novel way to study the spatial structures of landscape patterns where both edge and distance relationships are relevant. The performances of Hs and other similar approaches are evaluated through typical distributions of landscape mosaics. Our results indicate that Hsis more flexible and objective in distinguishing and characterizing different landscape patterns. At the same time, we hope this metric will facilitate the exploration of interactions between landscape patterns and ecological processes.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121317366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared with census and travel survey data, which are costly in collection and slow in update, the emergence of massively and automatically generated individual trajectory data, such as mobile phone tracking data and transit smart card data, offers new datasets to develop individual mobility models. However, these new types of human trajectory data suffer some inherent limitations for many research and application domains. First, these large-scale trajectory data often have certain types of sampling biases in the representation of entire population. For example, mobile phone data do not likely cover children and have little coverage in elder people. However, this portion of population is important in some studies, such as household-based travel demand modeling and epidemic modeling. Second, these large-scale individual trajectory data do not often come with individual sociodemographic attributes due to privacy or technical issues. Sociodemographic attributes however are critical in many studies such as household-based travel demand modeling, sociology studies, and epidemic modeling. Therefore, this study proposes a generalizable modeling framework for individual-based urban mobility with entire population and sociodemographic details, through integrating different types of data sources. To demonstrate the proposed modeling framework, we select several typical data sources, design a set of data fusion algorithms, and simulate the daily activities and trips of the entire population in Shenzhen, China. The simulation results show that the proposed data fusion approach can effectively help with sampling bias issues and reasonably fill up sociodemographic details for the large-scale trajectory data. The proposed individual-based urban mobility model can be useful in many studies that require inputting entire population with sociodemographic attributes. This study also gives an example of addressing an important topic in the “big data” era, that is to integrate the so called “big data” and traditional data in urban studies.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133185023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Up to now, almost none of temporal coordinate reference systems (temporal CRSs) have been described universally in traditional GIS in contrast with spatial CRSs. This paper first introduces the background of PSIS, analyzes existing description methods of time, and proposes a universal method for the representation of temporal CRSs based on common time systems and their conversion. Then a user-defined creation method for a temporal CRS is presented, the conversion process is illustrated, and the module design in the system is elaborated. Finally, an experiment is conducted on the creation, display and conversion of the temporal CRSs. Its result demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed methods.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133497165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complexity of urban road network and the increase of traffic information have encouraged diversified demands for traffic maps, and provoked great conflict between growing visualization requirements of complex information and the limited map display space. Based on a comparison of road classification and attribute integration of typical online map platforms in different scales, this study provided an optimized design at the aim of exploring better visual integration methods of multiple traffic information for online maps. A user test was conducted, which proved the validity of the integrating design methods in showing that the design strategy of this study can represent more traffic information in different dimensions in a user-accepted manner. Both the design scheme and other results can provide reference for the elements configuration and visual integration of future online map design.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"152 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131999022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to meet the demand for larger-scale and higher-quality urban economic growth using limited land resources, the current status of industrial land utilization should be fully understood. In this paper, the formula for calculating the intensive utilization potential of land resources is selected to establish a GIS model. Using the model to calculate and analyze 156 industrial parcels in Wenzhou High-tech Industrial Park from four aspects: building volume ratio, investment intensity, land output intensity, and the comprehensive potential. Through these methods, the intensive use of land of each enterprise is obtained. This article takes the individual company as the research unit, and the conclusions can describe the intensive use of each enterprise's land, which facilitates the determination of responsibilities and implementation of remediation measures.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122552496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to impacts from climate change and human disturbance, the vegetation of grassland in the study area has been degrading dramatically, and the desertification of land has been expanding rapidly. Based on remote sensing images and statistical data, this paper focused on analyzing the distribution characteristics of grassland landscape pattern in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture from 1995 to 2015, and the spatial-temporal differentiation characteristics of grassland landscape under the influence of elevation and slope topographic factors. Also, we combined GIS and GeoDa software to analyze spatial autocorrelation relationship of grassland landscape distribution in the source region of the Yangtze River. The results indicated that: (1) Both the slope and altitude gradient factors can affect the distribution type of grassland. (2) Three kinds of grassland change revealed different spatial-temporal variations. From the vertical perspective of time passing on, human activities would control the grassland distribution pattern based on original terrain factors. From the vertical perspective of altitude or slope, climate conditions would decide the grassland distribution. Terrain factors have direct effect on local climate conditions. (3) Grassland distribution and terrain conditions have significant spatial autocorrelation. Altitude and slope have absolutely different spatial relationship.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"174 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122101699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most important performances of UAV is flight speed. It is a key factor to impact surveying safety and efficiency within the limited flight endurance. Researchers have not treated UAV's flight speed in much detail, only focus on the image motion in order to limit the maximum flight speed in path. In this paper, an optimal flight speed estimation method is proposed, which is according to the multicopter flight mechanics and aerial photogrammetry theories. Through this method, the energy consumption characteristics of surveying UAV in the field operation can be obtained. A safe and efficient flight speed also can be determined. To verify the feasibility of the method, different test scenarios are carried out in the SITL (Software in the loop) simulation and obtained promising results.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125247624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional way of data storing and coping with hard disks cannot satisfy the requirements of rapid growth and safe storage of data in surveying and mapping departments. This paper conducted research on the storage and management of surveying and mapping data based on cloud storage. Massive multi-source surveying and mapping data is stored in a distributed storage system named cStor [1], attribute of the data is stored in MySQL database and the spatial index information is stored with the type of Geometry, thus satisfying the requirement of efficient storage of surveying and mapping data, and also making full use of advantages in attribute querying and spatial index building of MySQL. Based on those above, this paper proposed a method for online extraction of spatial index information of multi-source surveying and mapping data based on cloud storage. For different types of surveying and mapping data, there are different policies for extracting spatial index information. Types are divided as follows: For national standard primary scale files and local scale files, spatial index information can be extracted according to the filename. For aerial images and satellite images, the metadata files which are needed can be obtained online and then spatial index information is extracted. The result showed that method proposed in this paper can extract spatial index information efficiently for multi-source surveying and mapping data and the validity of this method was verified.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"173 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121543139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are always data gaps, and it introduces negative influence of individual activity pattern analyses. By extracting the internal regularity of known data, the incomplete relationship between location and time can be imputed and reconstructed. In this paper, a method of trajectory reconstruction based on individual behavior pattern and Hidden Semi-Markov Model (HSMM) is presented. It introduces behavior state variables and a discrete representation of locations to facilitate explanation of real-world meaning of the model parameters in individual daily activities. In HSMM, the interaction between various parameters imitates the behavior state transition and spatiotemporal variation. The relationship between the individual locations and behavior states is captured as an individual activity pattern. This pattern is used to derive individual state change sequence in the studied period of time. The state sequence can be resolved to obtain the final individual activity trajectory. Experiment on an individual track data set including Weibo check-ins and mobile phone GPS records showed that the accuracy of the trajectory reconstruction was 84.2%.","PeriodicalId":142380,"journal":{"name":"2018 26th International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127951213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
