In recent years, a fairly new Python library called spaCy has gained significant traction in performing sentiment analyses in languages other than English due to its multilingual support. There still haven’t been major publications on evaluating its usage for the said purpose. In this research, TFIDF features are extracted from three different N-grams (Unigrams, Bigrams and Trigrams) in the corpus after preprocessing to remove irrelevant details. These are then trained and tested using three machine learning algorithms - Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes Algorithm and Stochastic Gradient Descent. A comparative study then put forth will help future researchers in the following three areas – the capability of performing sentiment analyses in languages other than English, reliability of machine translation tools in performing cross-lingual sentiment analyses and the evaluation of Python’s library, spaCy for performing multilingual sentiment analyses.","PeriodicalId":141265,"journal":{"name":"2020 8th International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies and Optimization (Trends and Future Directions) (ICRITO)","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126248628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In India, especially in the rural areas, due to limited resources and exposure to the lawyers, a case may lack strong representation and can significantly delay the outcome. This is a plaguing concern for the people, who are spending their fortune in fighting a court case and fully relying on their lawyer’s expertise and due diligence. This paper proposes an approach called as Virtual Legal Assistant (VLA). VLA is a four-component based design that can enables legal experts to consult the legal situations with an interactive and AI-based virtual assistant.Rise of Artificial Intelligence in the last decade broke many technological myths. Interactive virtual assistants like Alexa or Siri are no more research topics but are now commercially available and used. The proposed approach talks about the possibility to build a similar digital assistant for legal domain, which can be trained on millions of the court cases and provide assistance in legal matters to the concerned people.","PeriodicalId":141265,"journal":{"name":"2020 8th International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies and Optimization (Trends and Future Directions) (ICRITO)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126485252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This user data is the new currency which is powering commercial interests through profiling of user behavior. But as users are becoming increasingly aware of implications due to data breaches, there has been a greater need for privacy preservation methods. The need is further enforced due to legal and commercial implications caused by the privacy compromises. We have analyzed the existing privacy ensuring techniques and their applicability to real-world data. It has been established that while privacy preservation techniques are dependent on the data attributes, the scheme of data release also plays an important role. We have therefore explored the applicability of syntactic and semantic privacy preservation techniques and shown their effects on a dataset.","PeriodicalId":141265,"journal":{"name":"2020 8th International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies and Optimization (Trends and Future Directions) (ICRITO)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130904201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
