Laws and norms are inconsistent, ‘Wanwol-dong’ itself has a mixture of residential and commercial areas, or is closely connected, affecting the residents of the community. In this regard, I studied what the experience of the prostitution women, local community women, and anti-prostitution activists, who are directly victims of Wanwol-dong, by the continuation of the Wanwol-dong prostitution gathering place, and what the impact was depending on the location. To this end, 9 research participants who were closely related to the Busan Wanwol- dong the red light district were selected and conducted as a case study method. The research participants' experience of social control, masculine culture, and connivance and management, which are formal regulations, due to the continuation of the Busan Wanwol the red light district differs depending on the location of women, Prostitution women, community women, and anti- sex trafficking activists repeatedly practice femininity of the 'protected sex' and 'non-protected sex', and as they become gendered, they internalize double norms and become marginalized. However, anti-prostitution activists challenge patriarchal double norms and cause cracks in the empowerment of sex while eradicating prostitution and closing down the Wanwol-dong assembly point in Busan while supporting prostitution women. In addition, prostitution in a specific area spreads the conventional wisdom that prostitution is considered natural, and the demand for sex purchase increases. As it becomes insensitive to violence against women, it strengthens violence against women and puts them in an inferior position, deepening gender empowerment. The Busan Wanwol-dong the red light district is directly and indirectly connected to the local community, such as violence against women and illegal acts, as residential and commercial areas develop through acquiescence and management, which are formal regulations of the government and local governments. Indifference to or concealment of prostitution. In addition, as the system and norms in the local community are inconsistent with each other, the law does not play a role, which is the cause of the persistence of the Busan Wanwol-dong the red light district.","PeriodicalId":140913,"journal":{"name":"The Women’s Studies Center","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114115108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This newspaper played a role in promoting colonial policies to the extent that it was recognized as the official newspaper of the Japanese colonial government during the Japanese colonial period, and it also shows colonial regression in women's discourse. In this study, data that can confirm women's discourse was investigated for editorials, editorials, articles, and columns of this newspaper, and based on this, the content of the discourse was classified by field, and the content was analyzed accordingly. As a result, it was discovered that there were certain characteristics in the material of discourse on women appearing in the MAEILSHINBO in the 1910s. First, data related to women's issues have been continuously published in this newspaper since modern times. However, most of the data from the 1910s were expressed in terms of ‘BUIN(wife)’ or ‘YEOJA(woman)’, and the term ‘YEOJA’was used very limitedly. Second, discourses such as ‘women's labor’ and ‘BUEOP(side work)’ appear most frequently in the content or distribution of discourses on women. In particular, by guarding against ‘women who do not work’ and ‘women indulged in luxury and vanity’, the logic that these women are the cause of poverty is often developed, which is a logic that regards women as objects of colonial assimilation. Third, the issue of women's education also reflects the retirement of the modern view of women. The primary goal of education was to ‘cultivate innocent people’, and education for women also aims to make compliant women. Fourth, it can be confirmed that the women's discourse in this newspaper aimed to formulate colonial women who combined nationalism based on the traditional view of women is emphasizing. As such, the disappearance of women's discourse under the colonial rule in the 1910s shows a major change in the newspaper media reflecting the position of Koreans after the cultural movement in the 1920s. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to some extent in objectifying the changing aspects of women's discourse during the Japanese colonial period.","PeriodicalId":140913,"journal":{"name":"The Women’s Studies Center","volume":"170 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129416913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to resolve the related problems Korea government made a WISET(Women in Science Engineering and Technology) program since 2006. And P University has been actively engaged in a movement to raise the gender sensitivity Engineering and to train women engineers for highly qualified work force. As part of the movement a subject called 「Women sensitive Engineering」 or 「Women Sensitivity Ergonomics in daily life」 that focuses on the gender sensitivity are effective to reduce the dropout rate and to land a job inside their fields. The title of established subject in P university was 「Women Sensitivity Ergonomics in our Daily Life」 as well. This study was conducted a survey of the coeds who have completed the 「Women sensitive Engineering」 or 「Women sensitive Ergonomics」 course to evaluate the degree of satisfaction ergonomics not taken the course. The results showed statistically significant responses indicating that both groups of coeds aware the gender sensitivity differences to Engineering and learned the optimization skill of gender sensitivity ergonomics by this 「Women sensitive Engineering」 subject. Also factor analysis for student’s enrollment this new subject was conducted in order to search the student’s satisfaction. This may lay the foundation to offer other major engineering courses for juniors and seniors that emphasize the gender sensitivity differences and ergonomics in Engineering. What Spivak is trying to argue is that the female subaltern has lost her voice in another language system that can speak beyond the existing language system of the ruling class. They cannot speak unless the subaltern is defined as a dominated group and possesses a language system of power. Subalterns cannot escape the regime itself, but nevertheless, they can create cracks and change the system by constantly resisting it. The female characters in Cracking India are victims of the colonialist ideology that has been denigrated because of their ethnicity and religion, and at the same time they are victims of the patriarchal ideology. I intend to pay a special attention to the voice of Ayha, a woman who is constrained by the ruling system and the target of oppression due to the political and religious divisions in India. Ayha is in a state of double bondage due to the tragic social environment of religious rifts and the authority of the patriarchal ideology. Nevertheless, Indian women who Lenny sees do not remain victims like Ayha and give in to men. Typically, Lenny's mother, Seti, is portrayed as a woman who has the power to oppose the power of men. Breaking away from the typical female role of the patriarchal ideology, she does not remain silent to help women in need, and tries to change, showing an independent female image to help women in need. In conclusion, through Cracking India, it can be seen that female subalterns are in a state of double bondage due to the tragic social environment of religious rift and patriarchal ideology, but the desire to recognize the self and the possibility of their liberation through the process of evolution goes on","PeriodicalId":140913,"journal":{"name":"The Women’s Studies Center","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127514180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
