Results: There is no significant difference between noise level and physical well-being but still the noise level has a great effect on them. Conclusions: A traffic Police are extremely stressful. Fortification used as a tool to prevent malnutrition which is cost-effective, applicable and defensive methodology for malnutrition such as salt fortification, milk fortification and rice fortification in rising countries. Fortification is useful for the people suffering from undernourishment mostly influencing children and generative women. Soybean is single one houseplant which provide complete protein along with many other important nutrients like iron, manganese, copper, molybdenum, potassium and vitamin K, dietary fiber, Isoflavone, fat (63% polyunsaturated fatty acids, 23% monounsaturated fatty acids and 14% saturated fatty acids also provide omega-3 fatty acids), 30% carbohydrates and 38-40% protein (70% protein characterized by the blend of glycinin & β-conglycinin). The present research is intended to evaluate sensory quality and overall consumer acceptability of different blends of fortified aloo tikki with soybean by hedonic rating test. For preparation of different blends, boiled grated aloo was blended with boiled grinded soybean (Control group 100% potato + 0% soybean, Sample A 75% Potato + 25% Soybean, Sample B 50% Potato + 50% Soybean and Sample C 25% Potato + 75% Soybean). The sensory characteristics like appearance, mouth feel, texture and overall acceptability of fortify aloo tikki were evaluated by 50 panelists (Male 23 and female 27) by using 9-Point hedonic rating test. The results concluded that both age group 18-29 year and 30-40 year gave higher acceptability for sample B which hold equal ratio of soybean and aloo. Appearance of sample A and texture of Sample C were highly preferred by both age groups. Respondents of 18-29 year age group prefer sample A (52%) for mouth feel and respondents of 30-40 year age group prefer sample B (64%).","PeriodicalId":14043,"journal":{"name":"International journal of home science","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81737385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two hundred subjects (male and female) between the age of 40-60 years and who were suffering from non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) for more than 6 months or above were selected randomly on the basis of their medical report (fasting and post prandial blood glucose level) from various Government and Private hospitals. It was observed that highest per cent of rural as well as urban respondents reported onset of diabetes between the age of 41-50 years. Most of the respondents (47% rural and 40% urban) had been suffering from diabetes for last 6-10 years. Majority (42% rural and 48% urban) had fasting blood glucose between 121-200 mg/100ml. Average fasting blood glucose was 166.51mg/100ml. Eight per cent of rural and fifteen per cent of urban respondents depicted very poor control and had post prandial blood glucose more than 300 mg/100ml.Majority (66 per cent of rural and 89 per cent of urban respondents) were involved in sedentary occupation and were not spending time (54% rural and 35% urban) on any kind of exercise. Fifty-four per cent of rural respondents and 63 per cent of urban respondents had family history of diabetes. Of the total, 26 per cent of rural and 17 per cent of urban respondents were consuming alcohol. Thirty-six per cent of rural and 18 per cent of urban respondents were regular smokers. It can be concluded that urban respondents are maintaining healthier eating habits, healthier lifestyle and are also showing better management of blood sugar control as compared to rural counterparts. There is need of more awareness in both rural and urban areas for better management of diabetes.","PeriodicalId":14043,"journal":{"name":"International journal of home science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76596438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Being pregnant requires a high demand of nutrients to form new tissues and grow existing tissues as well. The research objective was to assess the effect of nutritional knowledge and dietary practices on childbirth weight of adolescent mothers in the Effutu Municipality. A survey design was employed for this study with the target population being adolescent mothers in the Effutu municipality. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 101 respondents from 11 health centres in the municipality. Questionnaires were used as the research instrument. The study found that nutritional knowledge has no significant effects on the Childs’s birth weight (.078), p< .05. The author also found that dietary practices significantly affect the Childs’ birth weight (.034), p< .05. However, a greater significant effect on the child’s birth weight (.017) was discovered when the nutritional knowledge and dietary practices are put together and treated as one variable. It is recommended that the Ministry of Health in collaboration with other NGOs should organize an effective nutrition intervention that will be directed towards adolescent mothers to improve maternal nutritional knowledge and dietary practices thereby increasing the overall nutritional status of adolescent mothers.","PeriodicalId":14043,"journal":{"name":"International journal of home science","volume":"575 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82379415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
