In the r-process the capture of neutrons is followed by β-decays until nuclear stability is reached. A key element in the chain of nuclear weak-decays leading to the production of isotopes may be the change of the parameters controlling the neutrino sector, due to the mixing of active and sterile species. In this work we have addressed this question and calculated β-decay rates for the nuclei involved in the r-process chains as a function of the neutrino mixing parameters. These rates were then used in the calculation of the abundance of the heavy elements produced in core-collapse supernova and in neutron-star mergers, starting from different initial mass-fraction distributions. The analysis shows that the core-collapse supernova environment contributes with approximately 30% of the total heavy nuclei abundance while the neutron-star merger contributes with about 70% of it. Using available experimental data we have performed a statistical analysis to set limits on the active-sterile neutrino mixing angle and found a best-fit value sin2 2θ14 = 0.22, a value comparable with those found in other studies reported in the literature.","PeriodicalId":14032,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Physics E-nuclear Physics","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74114702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Event-by-event fluctuations in the charged particle multiplicities and their pseudo-rapidity values are also investigated in terms of some known statistical measures. Evidences of short-ranged particle correlation and cluster formation in the pseudo-rapidity space are found from our analysis. A microscopic transport model based on the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics could not match the experimental results. The differences between experimental observation and corresponding simulation could neither be accounted for even when a Bose–Einstein type of correlation effect is implemented into the simulated data.","PeriodicalId":14032,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Physics E-nuclear Physics","volume":"25 1","pages":"2150021"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84088331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the usage of recently proposed Laplace like formula of level density parameter by Canbula et al., the effects of collective rotations and vibrations as well as deformations in nuclei are incorporated. The comparison of our results with the experimental ones show a good agreement. Later on, the study is also extended to the calculation of nuclear level density and survival probability in several superheavy nuclei (SHN).","PeriodicalId":14032,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Physics E-nuclear Physics","volume":"23 1","pages":"2150020"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81584977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These interactions are density and temperature-dependent. Under certain conditions, a neutrino-condensate may form. In this work, we have adapted the separable nonlocal pairing interactions to the SN conditions and studied the temperature and density dependence of the pairing gap as well as the collective response with respect to these variables. We have applied the Bogoliubov transformations and solved the Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer (BCS) equations to construct the free quasi-particle sector of the Hamiltonian. The residual two-quasi-particle terms have been treated by applying the Tamm–Dancoff approximation (TDA) and random-phase approximation (RPA), suited to the extended neutrino media. With this, we have constructed neutrino energy distributions both in the superfluid and normal regimes and extracted critical values of the density and temperature.","PeriodicalId":14032,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Physics E-nuclear Physics","volume":"2 1","pages":"2150018"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85391999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The plots of [Formula: see text]2, [Formula: see text]) versus [1/[Formula: see text]] ([Formula: see text], 6[Formula: see text] provide test of the linear relationship of the two entities. There seems to be a good correlation of the two entities at these higher spin states for most of the nuclei studied here. The deviations from linearity in specific cases are found to be useful for studying the variations in the nuclear structures involved. From these linearity plots, the structural change at higher spin in some nuclei involving subshell gaps, as reflected in the anomalous rise or saturation, leads to further insight into the under lying microscopic structure.","PeriodicalId":14032,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Physics E-nuclear Physics","volume":"36 1","pages":"2150015"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82521289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
