This study is highly important because it comes at a time when the Saudi government has plans to encourage the development and advancement of women to be empowered and participated in decision-making. The research study aims to facilitate the advancement of Saudi women to senior management positions by offering practical recommendations based on an understanding of the real-world challenges and practices that can hinder as well as help the advancement of Saudi women. This aim assesses the barriers facing women in becoming executives in the Saudi banking sector and evaluates the effectiveness of strategies that women use to overcome barriers to advancement into the Saudi banking sector. Finally, the research found that  gender discrimination, cultural beliefs and  lack of empowerment can hinder Saudi women from reaching senior management positions in the Saudi banking sector.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"60 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86902173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research explores some aspects of human resources analysis, including enterprise management, fundamental analysis, planning, and monitoring. This analysis demonstrates the integration of knowledge in real-life situations after successfully learning the Human Resources Management (HRM) program. In this case, it tends to critically demonstrate how an individual can apply knowledge from learning HRM to perform their daily tasks. It discusses the previous development of HRM processes and how it has evolved in modern business management. Also, the analysis elaborates on the basic understanding of HR resources for non-HR managers and the application of knowledge in real-life situations, research projects, entrepreneurial businesses, and large corporations. Effective managers must demonstrate efficient skills since they play fundamental roles in business, such as recruitment, employee training, and performance appraisals. Therefore, they must incorporate excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and managerial skills. Furthermore, this analysis highlights HR managers' practices and processes, including employment policies and technology, to enhance employee commitment and work efficiency.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78545309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results show that economic policy uncertainty—in addition to macroeconomic variables—can play a big role in explaining the returns of Indian stocks. Since investors cannot reduce such risk by constructing well-diversified portfolios, it is in fact a source for systematic risk, which must be considered by investors when making investment decisions. However, Granger-causality tests show that there is a unidirectional causality running from portfolio returns to economic policy uncertainty. That is, the Indian stock market predicts economic policy uncertainty, not the other way around.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79557358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a panel data set of 28 selected SSA countries from 1996 – 2015, a model was specified and estimated using the techniques of random effects based on results of the Hausman test. The results show that only bilateral aid has a significant negative impact on domestic savings of SSA countries, implying a crowding-out effect. However, the impact of multilateral aid was found insignificant. After interacting bilateral and multilateral aid with institutional quality, it turns out that the negative impact of bilateral aid persists whereas multilateral aid shows a positive impact on domestic savings. It is interesting to note that aid regardless of the composition crowds out domestic savings in middle income SSA countries even after interacting with institutions, while for the case of low income countries, foreign aid particularly multilateral aid complements domestic saving if accompanied with improvement in the quality of institutions.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81954010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus of our paper is on the supply chain shortages. We are addressing its main causes, discussing its consequences, and suggesting policies to fix them. The emphasis is on several elements that have been overlooked by scholars, media, and industry. These elements include natural disasters, corporate consolidation, allocation of finished goods, and shift in stockpiling of raw materials.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"14 2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76706150","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study relied on panel data from 28 SSA countries from 1999 – 2015. Countries were grouped into middle and low-income countries following the World Bank classification, and a dynamic model was specified and estimated for both categories of countries using the technique of system GMM. After accounting for the differences in levels of economic development, the results showed that only multilateral aid had a positive and significant effect on economic growth in both middle and low-income countries, and that the impact is contingent on existence of good quality institutions. The study therefore recommends that donors should focus more on advancing aid through multilateral channels, and that governments of SSA countries—both middle and low-income—should focus on strengthening the quality of their institutions if they are to maximize value from multilateral aid. ","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80912972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is in general a lack of qualitative studies that widens the understanding of such democratic organizations, and the inherent tensions and dilemmas of such, at a micro-level. Based on a qualitative case study across Italy, Spain and Denmark, this article explores and reveal the interplay between how employee-owners experience democratic organizing as practice, and how this is related to ideas of the good work-life and ideals that reach beyond the workplace itself. These findings lay the ground for discussing employee-ownership as a possible way to alter current perceptions and understandings of, not only what a business is and can be, but also of how to democratically organize for a sustainable future.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84046798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve this aim, a survey was carried out on a sample of 325 frontline employees with direct customer contact in Germany. The results show that brand knowledge dissemination, as a central aspect of internal brand management (IBM), positively affects corporate brand pride of employees, which in turn influence brand- and service supporting behaviour (e. g. dissemination of service complaints). In addition, moderation analysis revealed that perceived management support for corporate social responsibility (CSR) positively influence the relationship of corporate brand pride and specific brand- and service behaviour. The findings of this study highlight how corporate brand pride of employees can be fostered and how employees can become service champion.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"77 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77463934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose a theoretical framework to highlight how these triggers have influenced the institutionalization of CSR in companies, implementing actions to support the Italian healthcare system, ensure the health and the safety of the population, and mitigate any social and economic problems that could be generated by the pandemic. The fashion industry is among the economic sectors that have been particularly affected by the crisis and has suffered greatly from the effects of the decision made by the Government to limit the diffusion of the pandemic. A case study comparison in Italian fashion companies is proposed here to highlight how all of these CSR actions can be interpreted, considering a more general principle of CSR promoted by owners and managers who, voluntarily, have taken decisions for the benefit of the community and their employees. These actions have both theoretical - considering future research lines on CSR - and practical implications on how companies should consider their stakeholders, in particular, employees and society as a whole, going beyond the human resource strategies and the classic commitment through philanthropic activities.","PeriodicalId":13861,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business research","volume":"37 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72755756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
