Such a matrix is very hard, if not intractable, to be obtained for a large network. We apply a new technique to analyze the traffic matrix by use of diffusion wavelet in this paper. It is shown that diffusion wavelet can do an efficient multi-resolution analysis on TM. The original TM can be reconstructed by choosing the diffused traffic in a particular level. In this paper, we propose a threat assessment approach to estimate the impact of attacks on network. The approach employs the Common Vulnerability Scoring System to quantitatively assess network threats and further correlates alerts with contextual information to improve the accuracy of assessment. In the case studies, we demonstrate how the approach is applied in real networks. The power consumption of supercomputer listed in the first 10 of top 500 is usually more than 1Mkw. Power-aware techniques have been widely used in data centre or supercomputer centre for reducing the power consumption. It is useful for us to reduce the power consumption with frequency scalable CPU being adopted in the HPC centers. Because load unbalance is a common problem in high performance computing, we can gear the frequency of CPU down when it is idle so that the power consumption can be reduced with little performance lose. In this paper, we present a new method called AESC(Automatic Energy Status Controlling) which can control the energy status of CPU automatically. Firstly, we identify the application as different kinds of power consumption by the load balancing and communication time. Secondly, we will give a control policy for controlling the energy status based on former results. Packet processing programs are on tight time budgets, especially to handle speeds in the gigabits per second (gbps) range. Thus, high-speed mechanisms for finding and accessing headers are critical. Our approach lets users define headers as C-style structures in a high-level language, packetC [1], and specify header locations in terms of offsets from the start of the current packet, which is treated as an array of unsigned bytes. These offsets can be expressed in terms of network layer offsets, constant values, runtime-calculated variables and combinations of all of these. This paper focuses on the principal forms these offset expressions can take and on how our FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays), compiler and interpreter collectively handle them at runtime. In heterogeneous environment scheduling set of dependent tasks involve two dimensional considerations. Tasks are supposed to be assigned to best suited machines while avoiding the extra overhead of communication cost which should ultimately enhance the performance mostly in terms of minimizing the completion time of a job. Extensive research work has been done addressing the same problem domain and number of well-known heuristics has been proposed. In this paper a new heuristic is proposed which assign priorities to the set of dependent tasks based on three different parameters which are average computation cost, average communication cost and mean of both. A segmented approach is introduced which schedules tasks based on nature set of tasks in terms of computation cost and there precedence constraints. This leads to more and more performance requirements of a Web browser, for which user experience is very important. This situation may become more urgency when on handheld devices. Some efforts like redesign a new Web browser have been made to overcome this problem. In this paper, we address this issue by optimizing the main processes of the Web browser on a state-of-the-art 64-core architecture, Godson-T, which was developed at Chinese Academy of Sciences, as multi-/many-core architecture to be the mainstream processor in the upcoming years. We start a new core to process a new tab when facing up to intensive URL requests, and we use scratch-pad memory (SPM) of each core as a local buffer to store the HTML source data to be processed to reduce off-chip memory access and exploit more data locality, otherwise, we use DTA to transfer HTML data for backup. Experiments conducted on the cycle-accurate simulator show that, starting each tab process by a new core could obtain 5.7% to 50% speedup with different number of cores used to process corresponding URL requests, with on-chip scratchpad memory of each core used to store the HTML data, more speedup could be achieved when number of cores increase. One fundamental concept of these systems is object identity (OID), because each object in the database has a unique identifier that is used to access and reference it in relationships to other objects. Two approaches can be used for the implementation of OIDs: physical or logical OIDs. In order to manage complex data, was proposed the Multimedia Data Manager Kernel (NuGeM) that uses a logical technique, named Indirect Mapping. This paper proposes an improvement to the technique used by NuGeM, whose original contribution is management of OIDs with a fewer number of disc accesses and less processing, thus reducing management time from the pages and eliminating the problem with exhaustion of OIDs. In this paper we present a comprehensive study of the parameters that effect both the capacity and coverage of IEEE 802.16e WiMAX which will serve as a basis for designing an effective access network including network dimensioning and provisioning QoS for dynamic and mixed distribution of services. In particular, the effect of physical and MAC layer overhead is considered for capacity evaluation with a simple scheduler. The paper also discusses the usage of compressed MAPs with SUB-DL-UL-MAP to reduce overheads and increase network capacity. UFTRA is a relaxation of the classical Fault-Tolerant Facility Location problem [11]. Based on the fundamental primal-dual theory [25], our primal-dual algorithm achieves an approximation ratio of 1.861 while it can be implemented in quasi-linear time. Besides the significant improvement in runtime over all previous work, the solution quality of the algorithm matches the work in [28] using a phase-greedy algorithm and improves the result of [29] adopting the linear program rounding technique. Built on this algorithm, we also show that the capacitated UFTRA (CUFTRA) problem introduced in [13] achieves 3.722-approximation in quasi-linear time. In this paper, before the presence of the main algorithm and its extensive theoretical analysis, we provide some necessary background knowledge of the problem.
