In particular, the effect of physical and MAC layer overhead is considered for capacity evaluation with a simple scheduler. The paper also discusses the usage of compressed MAPs with SUB-DL-UL-MAP to reduce overheads and increase network capacity. Abstract

With high data rate and mobility support wireless networks are becoming an essential access component and an integral part of the ubiquitous Internet.
