The heat losses were determined according to the legislation in force and in accordance with the normative requirements. The calculations made can be used in the next phase for the design of the heat source and heating system for heating and for the design of forced ventilation with heat recovery. Based on the optimum choice of technical equipment, it is also possible to evaluate the investment and operating costs for the installation of the different heating and ventilation concepts. Given the current significant increase in energy prices, the present topic is very topical.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128029074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The milling operations are performed using horizontal milling machine under two peripheral up milling and down milling methods with an HSS slab milling cutter. The experiment has conducted for different cutting speeds in dry condition while the depth of cut and machining feed are kept constant throughout the evaluation. The study reveals that the down-milled surface has higher hardness and better surface finish resulting in lower roughness as the cutting force is compressive in nature. On the contrary, the up-milled surface has lower hardness and micro cracks on it, which resulted in relatively higher surface roughness as the cutting force is tensile shear in nature. In addition, the surface hardness increases with the increment of silicon content in the alloys for both milling methods for the presence of hard Si rich intermetallics. The chips produced during up milling are shorter whereas the chips produced during down milling are longer for creation of higher temperature and pressure. Higher Si added alloy shows the curly like chips for its lower elongation behaviour. Fracture behaviour of higher Si alloy also confirms crack propagation obtained by the massive cleavage of the brittle and plate-types Si rich intermetallics.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"164 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127529092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is used in an object No. 900, a block V2 of the nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice. It is an object of a chemical water treatment plant belonging to the block V2. The boom is used at regular inspections of sludge pumps type 80 KD F150 9.5-A0-03 and for the needed handling with them during their operation. The boom of sludge pump designed for a load capacity of 120 kg was damaged during operation because the consequence of work the sludge pump was not considered during its design. This was causing a gradual accumulation of sludge around the suction openings of the pump. Therefore, the pump sometimes adhered to the bottom of the tank. In order to lift the pump thus adhered, it was subsequently necessary to apply approximately the four-times greater tensile force, for which the boom was no longer dimensioned. Therefore, it is important to optimize that state.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121281546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The castings produced are intended for the automotive industry. Local impulse heating was applied to the surface of the base material of the Uddeholm Dievar moulds. Three heating rates were used. After surface treatment, structural analysis was performed. PVD coating nACRo 3 was applied to the surface treated in this way. Coating deposition was performed by Larc technology. The quality of the coating was evaluated on the basis of the Scratch test and the Mercedes test. After laser treatment of the material surface and application of nACRo 3 coating, the surface microgeometry was evaluated according to ISO 25 178. The coated surface was then immersed in an Al – Si-based alloy melt at a temperature of 680 ± 20°C and remaining in the melt for 120 and 300 min. Experimental work has confirmed that the resistance of the mould surface has significantly increased.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128047608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with the comparison of production times obtained from programming and simulation systems with real production times. For production planning and organization processes, information on estimated production time is an important input. A free-form sample was designed for the experiment. Finishing of the sample surfaces was accomplished by 3-axis and 5-axis milling using three different strategies. The machining times obtained by the simulation in the CAM system, the times from the simulation mode of the machine control system and the real machining times were evaluated. Data discrepancies were shown, with in almost all cases the real machining times being longer than the times given by the simulations. The results were supplemented by outputs from software that optimizes the feed during milling thus reducing the production time. The tests proved the validity of its use.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131480122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This treatment results in a surface layer highly resistant to mechanical wear, temperature and corrosion. In this paper, the experimental material is in the form of a tube made of AISI 304 stainless steel, on the surface of which chromium layers have been deposited by three different companies dealing with electrochemical plating. Tribological tests were performed on a UMT Tribolab device with dry friction of balls made of AISI 52100 steel and ZrO 2 ceramics, both with a diameter of 4.762 mm. Measurements were performed at different loads. In the experiments, the courses of friction coefficients were evaluated, and after the measurement, the amount of material removed during friction was determined from the cross-sections of the formed grooves. Furthermore, the influence of the hardness of individual chromium layers and counterparts on tribological behaviour was investigated. The hardness of the counterpart proved to be important, since in the case where the counterpart is softer than the surface layer, the wear was greater than in the opposite situation.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127619381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A voltage is generated when a temperature gradient exists across the junctions of the thermocouples. This research modelled, developed and tested a thermoelectric generator with hot side temperature control using propane gas, in a microcontroller integrated development environment to protect the modules from excessive high temperatures. The models were solved using MATLAB for pictorial representation of the performance of the generator with temperature gradient, hot and cold side temperatures. The thermoelectric generator was developed using ten SP-184827145-SA modules. The temperature control circuitry consists of an ATMEGA32 microcontroller, DS18B30 temperature sensors, stepper motor, computer interface and power supply unit whose sole aim is to regulate the gas supply and hence control the flame temperature. The maximum open circuit voltage gotten was 25 V at 300 secs with hot side temperature of 120°C and cold side temperature 30°C, with an efficiency of 3.6%. It was also found out that the higher the temperature gradient the higher the voltage produced.","PeriodicalId":135905,"journal":{"name":"Acta Mechanica Slovaca","volume":"184 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122052948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
