However, this radar type is sensitive to external interference. The output signal obtained by the radar when a patient makes random body movements can significantly reduce the accuracy of vital sign detection algorithms. In addition, algorithms should be developed for actual application. In this study, we present an improved model of the 24-GHz radar signal quality classification system and a technique to enhance the resolution of respiration rate (RR) and heart rate (HR) for short time interval signals. Moreover, a complete system including signal quality assessment and vital signs extraction is implemented in real time on the Lab-VIEW software. The signal quality classification was evaluated on the measured signals of 10 healthy subjects. Accordingly, the obtained results indicate that with specific features, the accuracy of signal quality classification reaches 89.8%-100% while real-time RR and HR extraction results demonstrate significant agreement between radar measurement and the contact-type sensor.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122904337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, not only fixed traffic cameras, autonomous UAVs with cameras also can bring more flexibility and extend the management areas from an aerial view. In this paper, we propose and implement a real-time multi-task deep-learning for four-wheel vehicle detection, classification, and tracking system on UAVs. A dataset for detection and multi-task classification including multiple colors and types is built. To archive real-time the operation, we used the ByteTrack algorithm with YOLOv5, which is more efficient for mobile and embedded vision applications. Experimental results achieved high accuracy, more than 90% in multi-task classifying, and 56.21 HOTA tracking evaluation metrics on our created test set. The processing time is fast enough for real-time operation, 14 FPS for the detector, and 64 FPS for classification based on an embedded computer, Jetson Nano.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121381116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pretrained deep learning AlexNet has been transfer learned to classify between symbol rate classes. Training, testing, and validation data sets have been composed of the artificial data generated using Bernoulli binary random signal generator modulated into FSK signal corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) noise with SNR ranging from 1 to 30 dB. Training and validation data sets have been augmented to obtain twice more extensive data set i.e 1800 scalogram images, compared to the original size of 900 samples. The average classification accuracy during validation has reached 99.7 % and during testing 100 % and 96.3 % for the data sets with SNR 25–30 dB and 20–25 dB respectively. The proposed algorithm has been compared with cyclostationary and has shown improved classification accuracy, especially in conditions of low SNR.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126998204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mobile UAV acts as an aerial relay station (ARS) to assist transmission from a source (S) to two users (D1, D2), in the presence of a ground internal eavesdropper (E). To ensure secure communication at users, we propose to insert an artificial noise (AN) component into the transmit signal at the full-duplex ARS (FD-ARS) with power allocated using the NOMA protocol. We analyze the secrecy outage performance of the system and the users and obtain the approximate secrecy outage probability (SOP) in various propagation environments, i.e., the dense urban, urban and suburban environments. It is demonstrated that using AN allows the users to achieve the secrecy over the signal-to-noise ratio. Also, the system achieves the best secrecy performance when the FD-ARS is closer to the further user while losing the secrecy when closer to the source. The FD-ARS system is shown to achieve better secrecy performance than the respective half-duplex (HD) ARS system.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132455381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes two low-complexity signal detection architectures using superposition mapping and decomposition techniques at the modulator. The first signal detection, a so-called one-step detector, enjoys the low complexity level of the Tanner-graph-based detection algorithm, which is in the second order of the product of the modulation order and the number of transmit antennas. To further reduce the complexity level for the detector by 50%, a two-step belief propagation detector is proposed where interference of the stronger bit index is partially canceled when recovering the weaker bit index. As a result, the novel proposed two-step detector performs nearly as well as the one-step detection architecture when a massive number of antennas are employed at the receiver side while offering complexity reduction. This attribute of the proposed two-step large-scale multiple-input multiple-output (LS-MIMO) detector is significantly critical for 5G and beyond, where a massive/large-scale number of antennas should be employed to meet the growing demand for high-speed wireless access.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115392062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed system can support both synchronous and asynchronous communication which are mostly known as EtherCAT and RS-232C, respectively. The experimental results on hardware boards show the spectrum of our proposed system corresponding with the parameters set. In addition, the communication error rate of the proposed system is also considered in this paper. By formulating the communication error rate, we can quantitatively evaluate the communication performance and reduce the verification time. This has posed a big challenge for antenna engineers, which is to design wide-band or multiband antennas with very small footprint. The paradox of achieving wide-band operation while retaining a compact antenna size appears difficult to resolve. This talk takes a careful look at this contradicting challenge and proposes several strategies to address the difficulty. First, we review the fundamental concepts for achieving antenna's wide-band operation. We then introduce techniques for effectively miniaturizing an antenna's size while maintaining its wide-band operation. After that, a number of practical examples are presented to demonstrate the design of compact and yet wide-band antennas.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126539758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed scheme, a source uses Fountain code to send its data to a destination via a multi-hop relaying approach. To enhance reliability of the transmission of Fountain packets at each hop, incremental cooperative communication using partial relay selection is employed. We evaluate end-to-end outage probability of our scheme over Rayleigh fading channels, and then verify the derived expression by MATLAB simulations. The results present that the proposed scheme can obtain better performance, as compared with the conventional multi-hop relaying protocol without using cooperative communication.","PeriodicalId":135827,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123521773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
