This upgrade will mitigate the effects of pile-up expected under the High-Luminosity LHC running conditions and bring new and unique capabilities to the CMS detector. The endcap region of the MTD, called the Endcap Timing Layer, will be instrumented with silicon Low-Gain Avalanche Diodes, covering the pseudorapidity region 1.6 < |[ | < 3.0. The LGADs will be read out with the ETROC read-out chip, which is being designed for precision timing measurements. We present recent progress in the characterization of LGAD sensors for the ETL and the development of ETROC, including test beam and bench measurements.","PeriodicalId":135659,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Particles and Nuclei International Conference 2021 — PoS(PANIC2021)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130800721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This sampling device uses steel plates as an absorber and scintillating tiles as the active medium. Its response is calibrated to the electromagnetic scale by means of several dedicated calibration systems. The accurate time calibration is important for the energy reconstruction, non-collision background removal as well as for specific physics analyses. The time calibration as performed with collision data is presented. Its monitoring with laser system and collision data is discussed as well and the corrections for various identified problems. Finally, the time resolution as measured with jets in Run 2 is presented.","PeriodicalId":135659,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Particles and Nuclei International Conference 2021 — PoS(PANIC2021)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128229126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We study the energy loss by two different methods, the fractional momentum losses Sloss = (p T − pAA T )/p pp T and S ′ loss = (p AA,in T − p AA,out T )/p AA,in T . Sloss is obtained by comparing the inclusive pT spectra in the AA and pp collisions. In contrast, S′ loss is obtained by comparing in-plane and out-of-plane spectra using azimuthal anisotropy v2. These quantities are extracted from the data in AuAu, CuAu, and CuCu collisions at sNN = 200 GeV for π0s, and the AuAu collisions at sNN = 200 GeV for charged hadrons. The results show that Sloss is almost constant for a given centrality and does not depend on pT. In addition, Sloss is proportional to the squared path-length of the parton in the reaction area. In contrast, the results show that S′ loss slightly decreases up to pT ∼ 6 GeV and is almost constant at higher pT for a given centrality class. In addition, unlike Sloss, S′ loss is not proportional to the difference of squared path-length in-plane and out-of-plane in the reaction area.","PeriodicalId":135659,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Particles and Nuclei International Conference 2021 — PoS(PANIC2021)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126066280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study of photoproduction of mesons has a long history going back to 1950′s. It was in the next decade, studies on photoproduction of π meson on deuteron started. Since then coherent and incoherent photoproduction of π meson on deuteron have been studied theoretically and experimentally. The study of photoproduction of pions describes the coupling among photon, meson and nucleon fields and also gives information about strong interactions that indirectly hold the nucleus together. A thorough investigation of the photoproduction process is firmly believed to give first hand information on two important aspects, one being the threshold of π photoproduction amplitude and the other being propagation of low-energy pions in nuclear medium. The purpose of the present contribution is to theoretically study pion photoproduction on deuterons using model independent irreducible tensor formalism developed earlier to study the photodisintegration of deuterons[1].","PeriodicalId":135659,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Particles and Nuclei International Conference 2021 — PoS(PANIC2021)","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114086913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
