The study primarily focuses on the influence of product, shopping environment, and audience involvement on customer behavior. In order to accomplish this objective, a structural equation model was utilized, and a total of 318 survey responses were analyzed to support our theoretical framework and assumptions. The results of our study indicate that individuals who feel increased levels of pleasure and arousal when engaging in live streaming are more prone to engaging in impulsive purchasing behavior. Furthermore, our research reveals that several external elements, like the level of promotional intensity, features of streamers, and the level of activity in live rooms, significantly influence customers' emotional responses. These affective experiences play a vital role as internal processes through which external cues influence consumers' inclinations towards engaging in impulsive buying behavior. The findings of this study have great importance for businesses and live streamers seeking to improve their marketing techniques and cultivate more immersive live shopping experiences. By comprehending the underlying factors that drive consumer impulse purchasing within the live streaming context, enterprises may customize their product offers, enhance the shopping experience, and augment audience interaction in order to optimize their sales potential. The present study offers valuable insights that may guide marketing decisions and tactics within the ever-changing realm of live streaming, therefore facilitating the success of enterprises in this expanding sector.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"44 26","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139533362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Southeastern Europe (SEE), where over 100 commercial banks operate, these institutions form the backbone of the financial sector, supporting between 80% and 90% of the financial system in five Balkan Peninsula nations. Kosovo stands out for having a lower participation rate (65%), with 80% to 90% of its banks under foreign government control. A study conducted from 2010 to 2021 employed Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a non-parametric technique, to scrutinize the cost-effectiveness and profitability of SEE's banking industry. DEA evaluated SEE's commercial banks in terms of cost efficiency, considering total costs as the dependent variable and inputs including deposits, workforce, and fixed assets. Interest expenses, personnel expenses, and capital-related expenses were compared concerning total deposits and assets, while securities and loans served as outputs. The findings unveiled commendable cost efficiency within SEE's banks. Subsequently, a panel regression analysis utilizing fixed and random effects was performed. Factors like Cost Efficiency, Asset Quality, Market Participation, Debt Ratio, Bank Size, Inflation, Ownership, and Gross Domestic Product were assessed against Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Assets (ROA). The results underscored robust cost control measures within SEE's banks and highlighted significant factors—Cost Efficiency, Asset Quality, Market Participation, Debt Ratio, Bank Size, Inflation, and Ownership—exerting substantial influence on ROA and ROE. These insights offer valuable information for strategic decision-making, aiding stakeholders in developing targeted actions to enhance the financial sustainability and stability of Southeastern Europe's banking sector.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"23 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139531875","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, it investigates if tax evasion tendencies differ based on government ownership status and whether there are variations in such conduct between the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors in Mongolia. To attain the objective, a sample of 1,971 Mongolian listed companies from the Osiris database was constructed for the period of 2011 to 2019. The empirical results indicate that the implementation of the electronic filing system has had a statistically significant adverse impact on tax avoidance. This data indicates that the mandate for electronic invoicing and transmission to tax officials reduced the issuance of fraudulent tax invoices by companies, resulting in a significant decrease in their tax avoidance. Additionally, the correlation between the implementation of e-filing and corporate tax avoidance remained consistent regardless of government ownership status. Thirdly, the introduction of the electronic filing system had varying effects on corporate tax avoidance, depending on the manufacturing status of the companies. Manufacturing companies showed a greater decrease in their tendencies to avoid taxes after the implementation of the electronic filing system, which suggests a significant enhancement of transaction transparency for these companies. This study is significant in empirically analyzing the efficacy of Mongolia's electronic filing system. It may serve as empirical evidence for assessing current tax systems, measuring the impact of the electronic filing system, and developing new policies.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"26 18","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139534220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ‘health is wealth’ debate was again exemplified by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby raising awareness of the inescapable links between poor health and diverse threats to global socioeconomic prosperity. Thus, the influencing factors of health have continued to be studied. Accounting for structural breaks, the study estimates annual time series data sourced from the World Development Indicators within the autoregressive distributed lag error correction model (ARDL-ECM). The regression outcomes show that financial development has differential impacts on health outcomes. In particular, financial development proxied by domestic credit to the private sector has a negative effect on life expectancy at birth while reducing child mortality, thereby fostering better child health outcomes. This research engages health policy strategists on the right policy mix to achieve better health outcomes. While the financial development drive is ongoing, efforts should be intensified to improve socioeconomic determinants of health, and policy strategies aimed at solving national priority health challenges should be logically pursued.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"56 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139533333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While SRI is often considered less risky than conventional investments (CI), the study aims to understand why this is the case. The analysis takes into account two aspects of risk: specific risk and systematic risk. Specific risks are assessed in terms of the complexity associated with managing SRI and how certain features can mitigate this risk and improve financial performance. Systematic risk is explored in relation to investment diversification while taking ethical considerations into account. The study aims to determine whether the application of social responsibility (SR) criteria to assets reduces diversification and increases risk. Using panel data modeling, the study confirms a positive impact of SR on corporate risk. Specifically, it finds that the \"Top Performing CSR\" trophy (indicating a high commitment to CSR) has a positive effect on \"systematic risk\" and that the \"CGEM CSR label\" (indicating a commitment to CSR) has a positive effect on \"specific risk.” In conclusion, the study establishes a positive correlation between social responsibility and investment risk. Companies that adhere to ethical standards tend to present higher levels of risk. This is explained by the complexity of managing socially responsible investments to achieve an optimal level of risk and by the limited diversification resulting from the application of ethical criteria.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"69 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139534590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is a quantitative study using a survey instrument distributed to tax officers at the West Java Regional Tax Service Office. Questionnaires were sent randomly to 1,354 account representatives in 38 tax service offices. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the structural equation modelling approach. The findings revealed that the implementation of a tax amnesty could improve taxpayer morale and compliance. Taxpayer morality can mediate a good relationship between the implementation of tax amnesty and taxpayer compliance. Other findings showed that the implementation of tax amnesties had a greater effect on taxpayer compliance than taxpayer morality. It is implied that taxpayers will see an increase in tax audit activities after the implementation of the tax amnesty to encourage taxpayer compliance in the future and calculate the amount of tax liability correctly. In addition, paying taxes has a positive influence on taxpayers, which becomes a moral aspect of increasing taxpayer compliance. The findings of this study can assist the tax authorities in coming up with a model to measure taxpayer compliance from the tax officer's perspective.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"19 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139535149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study uses 87 nonfinancial firms over 19 years, nine years pre-IFRS (2003 to 2011), and nine years post-IFRS (2012-2020) for a total of 1566 firm-year observations. The panel regression estimate (fixed effect and random effect) was used to test the association between revenue growth and discretionary accruals, while the paired sample t-test was used to test the effect of IFRS adoption. The finding shows that decreasing growth rates resulted in increasing earnings management practices, probably due to the desire to maintain steady published performance figures in the pre-IFRS era, while decreasing growth rates resulted in income-decreasing earnings management practices in post-IFRS years, a rather surprising result. The finding also suggests that the practice of earnings manipulation is higher post-IFRS, indicating lower earnings quality. While managers engaged in income-increasing earnings management practices pre-IFRS, surprisingly, income-decreasing earnings management practices were detected post-IFRS. The finding deviates from norms and popular assumptions and suggests that the adoption of global standards might not necessarily mean limiting the abilities of managers to manipulate the earnings of companies. While changing standards may affect the nature of earnings manipulation, it is unlikely to prevent or deter the practice in general. The implication is that the application of IFRS will not deter earnings management practices.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"96 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139535417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article specifically examines the effects of the period expense ratio, free cash flow level, accounts receivable turnover rate, and firm innovation. It also examines the channel through which capital operation strategy influences firm innovation. The main indicators of capital operation strategy in this paper include period expense ratio, free cash flow level, and turnover rate of accounts receivable. R&D costs serve as a gauge of firm innovation. Panel data, the panel fixed effect model, and the mediating effect model are used for empirical research. The results of panel fixed regressions show that period expense ratio and free cash flow level significantly positively affect firm innovation below the 5% significance level. However, the turnover rate of accounts receivable doesn’t significantly affect firm innovation. Further research on mediating effect regression shows that financing constraints are one of the important influencing mechanisms, playing a partial mediating role. The results demonstrate that firms can boost their investment in innovation by lowering their free cash flow and period expense ratio. By imposing financial restrictions, they can also raise the amount of money invested in innovation.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"439 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139247498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data was collected from 307 respondents using a well-structured questionnaire. This study incorporates various behavioural factors, including retirement planning behaviour, risk tolerance, attitude towards the future, and financial literacy, along with employees’ perspectives on the PRA 2014. This objective considered   the influence of these factors on the employee choice of PFAs. The findings reveal that employee perspective on PRA 2014 and employee choice of PFA share a significant relationship. Additionally, the results of the multiple regression revealed that behavioural factors have a significant impact on employees' selection of PFAs. The model that investigates the effect of education qualification on the behavioural factors influencing the employees’ choice of PFA reveals that educational qualification does not significantly affect behavioural factors towards employees' choice of PFAs. The employees' opinion on the PRA of 2014, as it relates to addressing issues with the pension scheme, and the influence of behavioural factors have a notable impact on the selection of Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) by employees.","PeriodicalId":134894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting","volume":"27 1-2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139253264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
