The test results of moisture management properties prove that the overallmoisture management capability (OMMC) values of 3.4mm tencel fabric without lycra have the highest value and exhibit anexcellent grade in the moisture management test (MMT) chart. This is attributed to the low wetting time, higher bottomabsorption rate, higher value of maximum wetted radius and spreading speed and accumulative one-way transport index(AOTI) value. It is also found that the value of OMMC decreases with the increase in elastane content and increases with theincrease in loop length. Further, it is also observed that all the developed fabrics fall under the category of good to excellentgrades in MMT indices.","PeriodicalId":13444,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Fibre & Textile Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135687695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comparative analysis shows that the cues perceived by flattened fabrics areinsufficient to stimulate the perception of softness during the purely visual condition. At the same time, the spatialdeformation caused by the action significantly stimulates the perception of softness in the purely haptic state. While in thevisual-haptic dual condition, the spatial deformation causes a folding formation that stimulates the perception of softness bymatching the visual and haptic cue information. The study outcomes are theoretically defined as Perceptual Conflict ofInterest (PCI), which further focuses on the PCI model of fabric perceptual prediction. Accordingly, this study also discussesdifferent concepts of sensory cue tracking and their impact on cloth modality assessment.","PeriodicalId":13444,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Fibre & Textile Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135688648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dyed yarns produced from singed and unsinged cone yarns, which, in turn, are produced with different levels of removal of comber noil have been converted into fabric. The pilling resistance, drape, and low-stress mechanical properties of fabric samples are studied. The fabrics produced from singed yarn possess higher pilling grades. The singeing of yarn increases the drapability of the fabric. The fabric produced from singed yarn shows a higher total hand value as compared to that of the fabrics produced from unsinged yarns. The results show that the removal of more amount of comber noil to produce yarn with lesser imperfection at the ring cop yarn stage does not necessarily result in the fabric with better pilling resistance and handle, whereas it can be achieved by the singeing process.","PeriodicalId":13444,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Fibre & Textile Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135688649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is observed that the number of coagulation baths and coagulation time affect the fibre morphology, electrical conductivity, and tenacity of fibre. Also, addition of the ingredient (ethylenediamine) results in lower strength and highest fibre count together with darker, curly, and rough fibre structure. It can be suggested that among all the samples, the sample with 1 coagulation bath and 2 min coagulation time can be preferred if electrical conductivity is more important than fibre tenacity. However, if fibre tenacity is the issue, preference of the sample with 3 coagulation baths and 2 min coagulation time will be more convenient.","PeriodicalId":13444,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Fibre & Textile Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2018-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47693816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
