Kang, Hyun Lee","doi":"10.13045/ACUPUNCT.2013006","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.13045/ACUPUNCT.2013006","url":null,"abstract":"Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate the effects of Phaseoli Semen Herbalacupuncture(PS-HA) at KI10 in acute nephritis induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in rat. Methods : The rats were divided into 5 groups, which were control, LPS, PS-HA, NP and saline group. LPS, PS-HA, NP and saline groups were given LPS to induce acute nephritis and control group did not receive LPS. LPS group did not receive any treatment after the onset of acute nephritis. PS-HA, NP and saline group received PS-HA, normal acupuncture, and saline injection at KI10 three times per week, respectively. To evaluate the effect of PS-HA at KI10, the complete blood count, BUN, creatinine, TNF-α, and CINC-1 in serum were measured. To show its effect on renal function, creatinine, and total protein in urine was measured as well as urine output. The level of myeloperoxidase in renal tissue was quantified and complete histology was done in kidney samples obtained from the rats. Results : PS-HA group showed a significant reduction in the proportion of WBC and neutrophil, serum BUN, TNF-a, and CINC-1 compared to LPS group. Furthermore, a significant increase in urine output and a decrease in urinary creatinine level, MPO in renal tissue, and number of neutrophils at glomerulus was observed in PS-HA group compared to LPS group Conclusions : PS-HA at KI10 was shown to have a significantly effect on treating LPS induced acute nephrits. We report the changes that appeared in the sialorrhea treated by using trihexyphenidyl and Korean medical treatments. Methods : We treated amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patient with sialorrhea by using trihexyphenidyl a known antiparkinsonian agent and Korean medical treatments such as acupuncture, pharmacopuncture and herbal medicine. The salivation rate was checked with visual analogue scale(VAS). Results : There was a more than 50 % decrease in salivation in this case. Owing to the constipation, trihexyphenidyl was stopped after which only Korean medical treatments were provided. Over which a lasting decrease in salivation could be seen. Conclusions : Existing treatments would cause several considerable side effects and have difficulty in being applied in domestic clinics. In this respect, we suspect that our findings could open up new clinical guideline possibilities. Results : 1. In moxibustion therapy group compared with baseline, at final, Ryodoraku score(F1, F6) was significantly increased. 2. At final, moxibustion therapy group showed significant increase on Ryodoraku score(F1, F6) score compared with non moxibustion therapy group. Methods and Results : From Feb. 2012 to Jan. 2013, the 64 patients were outpatients for treatment of headache in Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medicine, Traditional Korean Medical Hospital, Semyung University and treated with meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture. To evaluate the effect of meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture, we devide 3groups(21 occipital-headache patients, 27 temporal-headache patients, 16 frontal-headache patients) upon pain area and search pain intensity(VAS were used), different frequency, duration time. As a result, headache are improved remarkably within two weeks. Conclusions : Meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture was found to be helpful to patients who wish to recover from headache. Methods : We investigated 37 cases of peripheral facial paralysis patients with postauricular pain, and devided patients into two groups : We treated one group by complex oriental medical treatment with bloodletting therapeutics, and did the other group by complex oriental medical treatment without bloodletting therapeutics. Visual analogue scale(VAS) and gross grading system of House-Brackmann(H-B grade) and at baseline and final were used for evaluating the effect of the treatment. Results : 1. In bloodletting therapeutics group and non-bloodletting therapeutics group, compared with baseline, at final, VAS and H-B grade was significantly decreased. 2. At final, bloodletting therapeutics group showed significant decrease on VAS and H-B grade compared with non-bloodletting therapeutics group.
