This paper briefly introduces the technical scheme of the common used inverter for shore power, and then puts forward the technical scheme of multi-terminal medium-voltage DC (MVDC), according to the transmission characteristics of the shore-to-ship power supply. Considering the different demand of converters connected to the distribution network and the ship grid, the paper discusses the suitable converter schemes. Based on the current operation demand of the distribution network and the new energy development trend of ports and ships in future, advantages and disadvantages of the inverter technology and the multi-terminal MVDC technology are compared, which demonstrates the feasibility and superiority of the multi-terminal MVDC technology in shore-to-ship power supply applications.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"30 1","pages":"405-409"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75061384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of shaping the loop gain transfer function is to obtain a desired crossover frequency, phase margin and gain margin. The compensators can be constructed by the operational amplifier (op amp). There are a few commonly used compensators built up by the op amp, to be discussed herein. By using different connections of the resistors and capacitors, different transfer functions can be obtained. For derivation of the transfer functions of the compensators, the traditional method is to use algebra calculation. Thus, the calculation process will become more complicated if the compensator consists of many resistors and capacitors. In this letter, a physical insight method is proposed to derive the transfer functions of the compensators. With the proposed method, the derivation of the transfer functions of the compensators is faster.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"23 1","pages":"3021-3024"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75075679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the fact that a real dc-link is formed in IMC, the proposed topology realizes dc output by inserting a simple two transistor forward converter (TTFC) into the dc-link. Its modulation strategy is composed of two parts, including conventional space vector modulation (SVM) for IMC and coordinate modulation between TTFC and rectifier stage. The proposed circuit based on IMC has advantages such as compact structure, independent ac/dc output each other and stable dc output voltage. Besides, sinusoidal input/output for IMC and zero current switching (ZCS) in rectifier stage are still retained. Simulation results are given to verify the feasibility of proposed topology and its modulation strategy.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"167 1","pages":"4083-4087"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75077917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, cogging torque and torque ripple of MSOR-FSPM motor are especially worse due to the inherent double salient effect and the back-EMF harmonics caused by module stator structure. In this paper, structure and operation principle of MSOR-FSPM motor are described simply. Secondly, cogging torque and torque ripple are reduced by using traditional rotor two-step skewing method, but the result is unsatisfactory. Thirdly, a new rotor two-step skewing method is adopted since the ratio of back-EMF period to cogging torque period is the odd. Compared with traditional rotor step skewing method, the new method eliminates the even harmonics of back-EMF and remains the amplitude of fundamental waveform; the odd harmonics of cogging torque and electromagnetic torque are eliminated. Finally, the results of the new rotor step skewing method is verified by 3D finite element method (FEM) and further improved by embedding non-magnetic blocks in the middle of the stator and rotor.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"38 1","pages":"3765-3770"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74937023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An area where these processes are widely applied are shipyards, where there are necessary hundreds to thousands of kilograms of weld by hour. However, systems that operate in open-air environments are vulnerable to sundry disturbances, noises in measures, as well as possible unavailability of measurement of some system states, required for the controller. Taking it into account, in this work, a Robust Model Reference Adaptive Control is proposed to regulate the velocity of a nonlinear motor of a linear welding robot. Furthermore, an Extended Kalman Filter is implemented to estimate the system states and attenuate measurement noises. The proposed control system demonstrated a very good performance with fast convergence and small error.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"125 1","pages":"2967-2972"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74983806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this paper is to present a control strategy that allows taking advantage of the maximum capability of the inverters to support the most dropped phase in a photovoltaic-based industrial microgrid during voltage sags. Depending on the grid code requirements, the rated current value could be injected by the local inverters during these disturbances. The currents can be injected through the positive and negative sequences depending on the sag characteristics and the power rating of the local inverters. Also, to prevent overcurrent, the controller can apply active power curtailment. Lastly, selected simulation results are presented to validate the performance of the control scheme.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"22 1","pages":"1001-1006"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77819917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, network coherence is a current hot topic. In this paper, we construct the weighted treelike network with weight factor to be our model. Although some properties have been revealed in weighted treelike networks, studies on their network coherence are still less and remain a challenge. In order to enrich the research of weighted networks, the first-order network coherence is investigated in this paper. We investigates consensus dynamics in a linear dynamical system with additive stochastic disturbances, which is characterized as network coherence by the Laplacian spectrum. Based on the tree structures, we identify a recursive relationship of its eigenvalues at two successive generations of Laplacian matrix. We then compute and derive the exact solutions for the sum of reciprocals of all nonzero Laplacian eigenvalues. The obtained results show that the scalings of first-order coherence with network size obey three laws along with the range of the weight factor. All results in this paper can help us get deeper understanding about the effect of link weight on the properties and functions of networks.","PeriodicalId":13098,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"09 1","pages":"5901-5905"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80076024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
