As a flexible display, a Luminous Array Film (LAFi) with the plasma tube is the world first film type display that realizes a bendable super large area emissive display. Using LAFi, several unique display applications with life size image and a curved display are realized. For holography application, we designed and fabricated ten-pixel array Spin-SLM with a fine pitch of 1 μm, that enables the large viewing-zone-angle of reproduced images, which no conventional SLMs can achieve. Although the number of pixel is not sufficient for reproducing holography images, diffracted light from the SLM was modulated by applying magnetic field. It can collect particles as small as submicron but it is necessary to oxidize accumulated particles by heating the filter. Temperatures of 600 degree C or higher is required to oxidize the soot but it is difficult to maintain stable reaction because this is exoergic reaction. The filter is sometimes damaged due to thermal runaway of the reaction. To address this trade-off problem, we have studied low temperature regeneration of DPF using sliding discharge, which can be generated on the surface of DPF and produces oxidative species at room temperature. Diesel soot collected by DPF was used. Simulated air consisting of N2 and O2 and not including CO2 or CO was used and CO and CO2 concentration was monitored by real time FTIR to estimate the soot oxidation. All the experiment was carried out at temperatures between 100 and 190 degree C to simulate exhaust temperature under low load. Experimental results show that soot was oxidized by generating sliding discharge on the DPF. No thermal damage of the DPF was found. Energy efficiency, denoted by the amount of oxidized soot per electric energy dissipated in the sliding discharge, increased with increasing the temperature as well as oxygen concentration in the test gas. Small amount of Ag2O supported by the DPF significantly increase the energy efficiency of soot oxidation. On the contrary, excessive amount of Ag2O resulted in energy efficiency lower than that of DPF without Ag2O probably because the sliding discharge was not generated favorably due to high conductivity resulted from metal Ag. Non-linear behavior of this controller causes non-constant switching frequency on the rotor side converter, which depends on the wind speed, amount of power converted and the hysteresis band of the comparator. This paper proposes a constant switching frequency controller that can replace the hysteresis-based variable frequency controller. Using two triangular waveforms that are phase shifted by 180°, the DFIG can operate in wide range of speed with constant switching frequency. The proposed system is composed of a boost power factor correction converter for improving input power factor, a voltage source full bridge inverter with series parallel resonant control, a high voltage high frequency transformer with special design to decrease the power loss, and a high voltage high frequency rectifier unit for producing 35kV high voltage output. The mathematical models of series parallel resonant inverter have been described. The duty cycle of the boost converter is utilized as actuating variables to cope with the regulations of DC bus voltage. Operating principles and design considerations of the high-voltage power supply are discussed and analyzed. Furthermore, the control of PFC converter and full bridge converter is achieved based on dsPIC DSC microcontroller. In this paper, a generic VFD-motor system modeling technique is proposed for the case that VFDs are able to ride through the fault. To illustrate the proposed technique, a dynamic model for a low voltage 6-pulse voltage source inverter (VSI) based drive and induction motor system with voltage per Hz control is created. To verify the accuracy of the developed dynamic model, a case study is conducted using a sample VFD-motor system, both derived dynamic model and detailed switching model for the same system are simulated using Matlab/Simulink, and their dynamic responses are compared. It is found that there are good agreements between the two models, and thus the accuracy of the developed dynamic model is verified. Different injection laws autonomous and non-autonomous ones are considered and the importance of the blade shape is emphasized especially for non autonomous injection laws. Different flow regimes arise according to the value of the Reynolds number based on the ionic mobility and the distance d between the blade and the vertical plate. It is found that the critical Reynolds number for which the transition between steady and unsteady regimes occurs depends both on the injection law and the blade shape. For much higher Reynolds number the flow turns to be turbulent and behaves as jet flow with the development of a Kelvin-Helmoltz instability. The use of different sharp blades indicates that higher electric field at the tip of the blade plays a significant effect on the development of the EHD plume. The water-cooling system proposed in the present study provides effective cooling by circulating cold water to remove heat in the photovoltaics. The experimental results were subsequently analyzed and compared to the power generation efficiency of the examined photovoltaics. The use of a water circulation cooling system improves the power capacity of photovoltaics by 2% to 15% and enhances the power generation efficiency of photovoltaics by 2.29% to 3.37%. Through the combined application of photovoltaic and thermal technologies, the total energy of the overall system can be improved by 37% to 59%, even after accounting for the energy consumption of the cooling system. As a result, environmental protection, energy savings, and increases in the efficiency of sunlight utilization can be achieved. A square-wave voltage vector is injected in the estimated rotating reference frame. The rotor position information is then extracted from the envelopes of the resulting induced high-frequency currents in the stationary reference frame. The proposed position estimation method has almost no dependence on machine asymmetric properties and, therefore, is well suited for SPMSM applications. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method from 1 Hz to 50 Hz electric fundamental frequency under all load conditions. Experimental results on a 2.4-kW SPMSM in both sensorless speed and torque controls are also provided to validate the proposed method.
