The implementation was realized in the BREW programming language, and used a KDDI mobile phone and a tiny wearable body temperature sensor. The temperature inside clothing during sleep is measured continuously and automatically by a wearable temperature sensor device. The temperature data are accumulated and transmitted a specific database server via mobile phone. The BREW application acquires the data and supplies health care information, such as a one-night temperature profile animation review for sleep quality evaluation. Menstrual cycle stage estimation and a diary for personal health management were developed and implemented. These implementations enhanced the usability and functionality of the women's healthcare monitor and provided many advantages to the management system.","PeriodicalId":129874,"journal":{"name":"2007 6th International Special Topic Conference on Information Technology Applications in Biomedicine","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121927907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A continuous putative function of systolic blood pressure was realized using Electrocardiogram (ECG) and the pulse signals for calculating the pulse wave are obtained from electrodes that are attached to both hands and a photoplethysmographic sensor attached to the tip of the finger and the hand. First, noise such as drift, electromyogram, and hum noise is reduced using a notch filter and a bandpass filter. Next, the QRS wave peak of the ECG is detected. In parallel with QRS wave peak detection, the leading edge of the pulse is detected. The interval between these two points is computed as the PAT. Then, the signal most correlated to change in blood pressure is selected. In this way, systolic blood pressure is computed continuously and precisely.","PeriodicalId":129874,"journal":{"name":"2007 6th International Special Topic Conference on Information Technology Applications in Biomedicine","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128969474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, we gave a stress to the subject by increasing the driving speed using driving simulator in the laboratory. Second, the subject drove the vehicle on the real road. Through let him drove in the busy narrow street, we evoked stress. ECG and PPG signal was recorded from steering wheel and back cushion each unconsciously. The driving experiment with simulator was not suitable to reproduce actual traffic condition because the adaptation was occurred. On the other hand, in real driving test, the results show that the heart rate is increase, and SDNN, RMSSD, pNN50 were decreased. The heart rate is the strongest indicator and other parameters tend to be changed depend on a personal. The blood pressure had no significant changes. Our results show the good possibility of that the time parameters of the HRV could be used as an instantaneous stress indicator.","PeriodicalId":129874,"journal":{"name":"2007 6th International Special Topic Conference on Information Technology Applications in Biomedicine","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114228421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, a novel hybrid cutting technique for volumetric tetrahedral meshed soft tissue models is presented. A progressive cutting method is applied to the model's surface elements, where the core of the model is cut non-progressively. Our work combines the advantages of both subdivision methods into one technique. It leads to an increase in the stability of the soft tissue deformation simulation and enhances interactivity, by reducing the cutting complexity. A laparoscopic resection of the kidney tumor surgery is used for case study.","PeriodicalId":129874,"journal":{"name":"2007 6th International Special Topic Conference on Information Technology Applications in Biomedicine","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121869157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
