Sufficient safty was proved in high concentration and in long time inhalation (2-3 h.), in which no inhibition of cardiac or pulmonary functions could be observed.A good balanced anesthesia was attained by the mixture of equal part of halothane and ether (1 : 1), judging from the findings of T.P.R. and P.T.G. (pneumotachogram), and the technical easiness is recommended for the clinical applications.2) From the findings of electrocardiogram, the action of azeotrope was observed in the middle of the inhibitory action of halothane and the accelerating action of ether, by which high safety could be expected.3) The decrease of blood erythrocyte and leucocyte counts and of values of Sahli and hematocrit were observed in surgical stage. The erythrocyte sedimentation test showed a higher speed in inductive and surgical stages. The findings of hemogram showed a heavy change in neutrophiles and lymphocytes, medium in eosinophiles, but none in monocytes and basophiles. In the transition of neutrophiles, the segment nucleus (2-3) showed a decrease in the surgical stage, but the segment nucleus (4-5) and stick nucleus no remarkable change.4) The effect of various anesthetics upon blood pressure and respiration was the least in diethyl ether, followed by azeotrope and halothane, and the most in barbiturates.From the results of the clinical and hematological observations and the experiments of the effect on blood pressure and respiration, azeotrope may be considered as an useful anesthetics, consisting of many advantages of ether and halothane, and their synergism.","PeriodicalId":128555,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese Journal of Veterinary Anesthesiology","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1972-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124192605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The combination is preceded by administration of 0.025 mg/kg of atropine sulfate subcutaneously. The dosage is 0.1 mg/kg of flunitrazepam and 5 mg/kg of ketamine, administered intravenously mixed in one syringe. The results were as follows :1. Jaw reflex and auricular reflex were cd not disappear completely but intubation was performed easily. 2. Decrease of arterial blood pressure was controlled in comparison with flunitrazepam administration alone.3. Less obvious changes in electrocardiogram were found in it.4. Immediately after administration, respiration rate and arterial oxygen tension were slightly decrease, therefor using it, in advance anesthesia, great care and inhalation oxygen must be taken.5. The above : It was suggested that flunitrazepam and ketamine administered intravenously mixed injection were useful means.","PeriodicalId":128555,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese Journal of Veterinary Anesthesiology","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114247744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
