Capitulations \u0000had always emphasized the right of foreign consuls to execute consular jurisdiction in \u0000the territory of the Ottoman Empire. Since the Eyalet of Bosnia was an integral part of \u0000the Ottoman Empire, the consular jurisdiction of foreign consuls included that area, \u0000which had especially become significant in the 19th century when the leading European \u0000powers increasingly started to open their consulates in this part of the Empire. However, \u0000after Austria-Hungary occupied Bosnia in 1878, it aimed at terminating everything the \u0000capitulations contained regarding this area. The paper analyses the dynamics of termination \u0000of the consular jurisdiction of foreign consuls, the termination of the Austro-Hungarian \u0000consulates and the establishment of the new practice of appointment of foreign consuls in \u0000Bosnia and Herzegovina after 1878.
Journal of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo (History, History of Art, Archeology) / Radovi (Historija, Historija umjetnosti, Arheologija), ISSN 2303-6974 on-line

Although a systematic research is lacking, the \u0000number of newly-found epigraphic monuments has significantly increased in Bosnia and \u0000Herzegovina and to that number four more will be added. Two monuments were found \u0000in the wider Trebinje area, while the other two are from the Crkvine near Makljenovac \u0000(Doboj) locality. Votive altar for Jupiter, Best and Greatest, from the soldier of Cohors prima \u0000Delmatarum milliaria is the first material evidence for which it can be certainly asserted \u0000that it is linked to the presence of the cohort in the area of Doboj. The cohort whose name \u0000is mentioned on the epigraphic monument from Doboj was probably made in the 80s CE, \u0000after the Roman legions retreated from the area of the province Dalmatia. It is considered \u0000that the cohort was stationed throughout the whole principate in its “birth” province \u0000Dalmatia and that it is, conditionally speaking, one of the autochthonous cohorts. The \u0000confirmation that the Cohors prima Delmatarum milliaria equitata was stationed in the \u0000castrum in Makljenovac is a good indicator that Romans accounted for the inter-provincial \u0000borders, not only for he limes.
Journal of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo (History, History of Art, Archeology) / Radovi (Historija, Historija umjetnosti, Arheologija), ISSN 2303-6974 on-line
