Given the demanding requirements on current, efficiency, dynamic response, precision and availability, the use of a modular converter structure based on parallel operation of N sub-converters with M parallel H-bridges inside is adopted, as this strategy allows to continue operation even under a fault scenario. In this structure, it is expected that each sub-converter will operate autonomously and that their output current will be a fraction of the magnet current. It operates at a frequency between 100kHz and 200 kHz. It is intended for a magnetic hyperthermia equipment used in oncology therapy experiments on small animals. The proposed scheme is based on a phase locked loop (PLL) which ensures operation at the natural frequency of a high Q resonant circuit, which includes a coil that produces the magnetic field. An analysis of the different blocks composing the system is presented along with a study of its stability and perturbation rejection features. Preliminary experimental results obtained on a low power prototype allowed to verify the theoretical models assumed for the different transfer functions the circuit involves. It consists on array of solar panels, a storage system (made up of a lithiumion battery bank) and a load profile in line to the one of a typical residence. It is considered that it can operate connected to the main electrical network. The way to determine the loads is indicated, as well as the way to obtain the power profile generated through simulation models and the modeling of batteries that make up the storage system. The model used is made up of a storage system and a generation source, considering the possibility of exchanging energy with the main network, thus allowing to the microgrid, through the proposed control strategy, the possibility of acting and participating within the electrical market. The proposed functional for the controller considers costs of use for the microgrid systems, as well the benefit from sale of energy to the main electrical network. This controller combines trajectory planning and tracking stages in a single optimization problem for a given periodic parametric path. However, many of the proposed control strategies have been developed under time-invariant linear models, without considering the well-know intraday parametric variability. In this work, a recently published pulsatile Zone Model Predictive Control (pZMPC) is analyzed under a real observed pattern of intraday insulin sensitivity (SI), according to the latest updates of the FDA-approved UVA/Padova simulator. To this end, nominal information of the postprandial insulin sensitivity is explicitly included in the control-oriented model to be taken into account in the predictions. The proposed control strategy is evaluated in silico under the FDA-approved UVA/Padova simulator, the performance analysis is done using statistical metrics and it is compared with the invariant version of the aforementioned controller.
