Although rapid progress has been made in hardware devices and software techniques for both human body modeling and motion capture, little work has so far been devoted to simultaneous realtime geometry and motion reconstruction.

The tessellation shaders allow us to subdivide a coarse input patch to tiny primitives with subdivision schemes such as Loop subdivision [Loop 1987], Catmull-Clark subdivision [Catmull and Clark 1978], and Phong tessellation [Boubekeur and Alexa 2008]. The tessellated geometries represent smoother surfaces, but also their details can be enhanced with displacement mapping for on-the-fly surface elevation. Each output vertex is relocated based on the height information, which refines the geometric details such as peaks, craters, terrain, and wrinkles.

This course leverages the fact that if you know one of the two, you can quickly learn the other, including advanced features introduced in DirectX 11.1, OpenGL 4.3 and OpenGL ES 3.0.\u0000 We will explore the similarities and differences between the APIs. This will allow someone familiar with one of the APIs to see what the other API has to offer and what they need to know to use it. It will also offer a different point of view on the same underlying hardware, and shed some light on the drivers.\u0000 We will only be focusing on core OpenGL, and more specifically the approaches that resemble what's done in DirectX, such as immutable textures. This not only makes it easier to move between the APIs, but results in a focus on performant use. For DirectX we will focus on DirectX 11, including parts of 11.1 where it has converged with OpenGL and OpenGL ES in its approach.

Then, it describes the application of shape-based and volumetric techniques to shape modeling and analysis through the definition of volumetric shape descriptors; shape processing through volumetric parameterization and polycube splines; feature-driven approximation through kernels and radial basis functions.\u0000 We also discuss the Hamilton's Ricci flow, which is a powerful tool to compute the conformal structure of the shapes and to design Riemannian metrics of manifolds by prescribed curvatures and shape descriptors using conformal welding. We conclude the presentation by discussing applications to shape analysis and medicine, open problems, and future perspectives.

This was a mysterious phenomenon that many have wanted to experience for many years. Such wishes are expressed in the Bible, for instance when Jesus crossed the Red Sea, and when Peter wanted to walk on water with Jesus. Such phenomena, floating in the air and walking on water, were nothing short of miracles to people. Garden Agua was devised to realize these human aspirations.

Recently, a projection mapping is a technique to turn objects into a display surface for image projection. And it is widely used in various attractive events, for adding extra dimensions, optical illusions, and notions of movement onto previously static objects. However, this technique is limited to the static objects. In general ProCam systems, it is difficult to project images on moving objects because it has potential time-delays of cameras and projectors in addition to various delays with target's position estimation, image processing, and etc. Our preliminary study shows a maximum of 80[ms] delay with ordinary ProCam system. This time-delay generates misalignment between targets and projected images, and it leads us to feel sense of incongruity. Therefore, we present a time-delay compensation technique with fast motion prediction by using a high-speed ProCam system. And we provide a dynamic projection mapping on moving objects.

We aim to reveal an appearance element that maintains reality and reflects the element in computer graphics (CG) applications such as augmented reality. This report focuses on realistic clothes surfaces because clothes are frequently used in applications. To understand what contributes to a realistic appearance, we explored perceptions from still images and movies in two psychophysical experiments. Experiment #1 explored the most contributing element for perceptions when observing clothes. Experiment #2 confirmed that the same element also contribute to movies with an interactive system.

Some of these, unlike the traditional CAVE environments, provide a seamless 360 stereoscopic image without corners [AVIE] and thus can support a heightened sense of immersion. Most immersive displays that consist of discrete walls rely on head tracking and are thus only intended to be a single person experience. For cylindrical displays a method is well known by which stereoscopic panoramas can be presented without the need for head tracking, these stereoscopic pairs are generally referred to as omni-directional [Ishiguro et al, 1992][Bourke 2006]. This allows large cylindrical displays to be constructed that support multiple person audiences with each person potentially looking in a different direction.
