Dulea","doi":"10.1109/ROLCG.2015.7367426","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ROLCG.2015.7367426","url":null,"abstract":"Supporting three of the four main user communities of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, RO-07-NIPNE is the most complex grid site of the Romanian Tier-2 Federation (RO-LCG, http://lcg.nipne.ro). Here we present an overview of the recent hardware, software and network implementations at the grid site, in view of the computational support for the second run of the LHC. Special emphasis is placed on the site upgrade through the adoption of new technological solutions for job and data management, such as the installation of the Advanced Resource Connector (ARC) Compute Element for the parallel processing of ATLAS jobs and the implementation of the SLURM resource manager. A review on the upgrade of the hardware infrastructure is presented, including the commissioning of a new SAN system that completed the Tier-2 with Data storage capacity dedicated to the LHCb collaboration. Currently IMCS UL maintains Scientific Cloud unified computing facility realized as ½ PTB SAN storage (IBM DS4700 with servers); provides collocation, hosting and virtualization services. As well it operates as a node for online correlation data streaming services from Irbene radio telescope in real time, HPC resources' disposal for computing tasks, usage of Big data extracted from data storage for modeling and also for graphic data processing. In the same way IMCS UL supports. LV domain name administration and CERT services at the national level. If research institution realizes investment project for research equipment modernization, very often they met several difficulties to satisfy requirements of public procurement in European Union. The potential was analyzed using a non-invasive technique that detects the head movement out of video. In the literature there is a lot of information regarding lie indicators and for this reason we made a short review of them. Application was built in order to detect the head movement and head position by performing a frame-to-frame analysis on a color video stream. Tests were performed on a group of ten volunteers and the results confirmed the theory. A correlation was made between head movement/ position and lie detection. Although the results confirmed the theory they are not concluding because this information cannot be used without other additional information from the other information channels like voice, words, gaze and so on. Production quality code plagued with bugs and security issues that are impossible to test for is becoming commonplace, and HPC is no exception. It is therefore necessary to grasp all means of ruling out faulty code and aiding programmers in expressing their intent. C++ is still the dominant language in HPC and with its recent rapid development, a turning point is imminent when the gains of reformulating existing code will outweigh the costs. The current study is a roundtrip of accumulated changes in C++11, C++14 and the coming C++17 standard, new best practices, patterns and idioms that should make their way to the foundations of HPC software. Any failure is taking time to be repaired and restart. At the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) Cluj-Napoca, there is such a Grid site which need upgrades periods once or twice a year and maintenance periods one at two years. The infrastructure is stable but the most problem do appear at the software upgrades.
